I think aoc is fun, fairly stable and i don't feel i have a lack of things to do, but then again i don't race to lvl 80 in a week then whine about lack of content.

I had to use customer service once so far about preorder issues and they resolved it, took a while but it wasn't a gamebreaking issue but they fixed it and it works fine now.

As for the computer reqs on aoc i haven't changed anything on my computer and it runs fine in 1680*1050 res with high detail on and my computer is roughly a year old.

I have played this game since 2001 on and off, my highest char is a lvl 163 engineer, i still enjoy this game even if i don't play it constantly (lack of time), sure the graphics are not the best but it is sad if people judge a game from that alone, anarchy is likely one of the more complex games out there and unless you always must be on top when it comes to gear and such it is very solo friendly and you can make progress even if low on time thanks ot the missions.

I myself can't stand playing it without expansions though, not having access to composite buffs alone drives me nuts :)

Works fine for me most of the time, had plenty of lag spikes and such in WoW to for that matter.

As for graphics i have an nvidia 8800gtx but perfomance is not that hot but that is mostly thanks to old engine and using dx7, most if not all the work is done by the cpu not the gpu, if they get the new dx9 engine in soon it might be very different.

And well the game is still fun :)

Well you can hate the game all you like i enjoy myself and while the chat might be rather silent it sure beats the immature kid trash talk in wow.

I remember someone trashing dungeons in AoC but the ones around tortage has been rather cool so far, well less so at heroic solo

I guess Funcom made the misstake of misjudging peoples leveling pace and therefore the end game is lacking, not the first time that has happened, anyone remember plane of time in the planes of power expansion for everquest? could not even access it for a long time after release.

I enjoy AoC and i have no intention of even playing War, besides people must have short term memory if they still think that "the next game" will be better, it will probably be rushed out to meet some deadline so the company looks good to some share holders only to be flamed to hell for releasing the game to soon by the people trying to play it.

I still play anarchy online and enjoy it a lot, AoC is fun to me at this point even if i'm only up to lvl 13, getting to 80 in 2 weeks like some people is just retarded, i'm in no rush and i like to enjoy all the parts of the game not just getting to max level at light speed then complain that it is boring.

Managed to create 2 characters under vmware and xp running under vista, but performance is sluggish and textures does not show, have had no luck in vista so far even if i never had any problem installing net 1.1

Well it's a small game compared to giants like wow but the population seems fairly steady on rimor the server i play on,  the game world with expansions is rather large so at times it might look deserted but places like Borealis (neutral town) tend to be rather busy.

As for having expansions or not, yes they will make a huge difference but that does not mean you can't have fun in the game without them, of course it depends on your playstyle, if you plan on solo a lot you can do so easily since missions can be set to the difficulty level of your choosing, having the expansions might let you solo tougher stuff (higher level), as for pvp i can only speculate since i never do any but not having the expansions would make a rather big difference i could imagine.

To me i could not stand playing ao without expansions now that i'm used to the benefits, but it sure gives you a nice trial period if you like to test the game

One my pet peeves in wow pvp to, being corpse camped by a lvl 70 when you are 30 are so much fun, what sucks is they risk nothing doing it, bit sad that AoC is taking the same approach at least in a game like eve going ganking the newbies in secure space had a risk, you where likely to loose your ship and take a sec rating hit, do it enough and the police force will attack on sight.

There will always be people who like to level to the highest level in shortest possible time, people claim they can get to 220 in anarchy online in a few weeks and here i haven't even made it to 180 playing on and off since  2001 :) then again i'm not in any rush and by leveling slow i take time to see the world around me not just the zones that let me level the fastest.

I remember when sony released the planes of power expansion for everquest and the hardcore raiders could not get to the end zone(plane of time) cause it was not ready, that to me is even worse since it was an expansion.

Disturbs me a bit that tradeskills seems bad in AoC i have started to like doing tradeskills in other games, but hopefully they will fix it up to VG level (and yes i think Vanguard have super crafting reminds me of Horizons)

Haven't played AoC much yet but it looks fantastic and i bet it will get better when more dx10 stuff is added.

Well i know anarchy online have the professional program, this includes 2 people for each profession in game that is choosen by the community to be the link between player <-> developer, hopefully CCP will listen more to the feedback given, but i think the idea behind it is great.

Please, cut the sarcasm. It is unwarranted.

Yes MMOs are a time sink, but like anything in life, you shouldn't be getting something for nothing and buying gold is just that. You think you have to buy gold to stay competitive. Why should you have the same gear, rep, etc. etc as other people who have put more time in? You shouldn't. That is like saying a new hire at your job should be making the same amount as someone who has been with the company for a few years.

Awards come with time, that is where the dedication and patience comes into play.

Like I said, find a game where you can achieve more with the time you do have to spend gaming instead of adding problems to the game for others just cause you want to play too!!

I feel no compassion, sorry.

Well if i take a game like everquest even if you buy platinum there you will never be as good or have the gear the raiders do(people that spend 5-6 days 4+ hours a day online), just for the simple fact it is nodrop, even when i bought some of the best stuff in the bazaar for my shaman and i felt i did a nice upgrade on him i was not even close to the raiders, they where supreme to me in areas like hp/mana/ac they had more then twice of it.

And you can't buy the flags/keys needed to enter said raid zones either, having money makes the low level game a lot more fun, especially in eq where the lowlevels are lonely to say the least, the few lowlevels around are mostly twinks of higher level people and they tend to not need groups of similar level players cause they have a lvl 70 in tow.

As for wow i can see why people buy gold, right now after i restarted i make just enough cash to buy the next set of spells haven't bought anything from AH yet since everything is just to expensive or nothing availible below lvl 10, i do miss my lvl 60 hunter that i deleted in anger, guess you should not do that kind of stuff when angry :)

Considering many game companys today seem hell bent on driving the player insane no wonder you enable cheat modes, having to redo the same thing for 20+ times is not even remotely fun, Tomb raider was a good example where you can't even enable cheats without a time trial, that i for one never managed to complete

Wow was okey had a lot of fun for a year or so, but the best in my book will always be everquest 1, likely cause it was my first mmo back in 2001 but right now i like anarchy online, the only one i currently subscribe to.

Used to have soe all access so could play eq1,eq2,swg,the matrix, vanguard(great game to), also played horizons, eve and of course wow.

My first toon in anarchy online is made in may 2001 and right now i have 3 active accounts having great fun.

Well people being able to buy gold/platinum/credits or whatever might be as you say gaining an unfair advantage but then you might as well say people being able to play 6 hours a day everyday is gaining an unfair advantage over the ones that can play 2 hours a week, life is unfair get over it :)

I see it was mentioned about eq2's rmt servers, not sure the one i play on is one but i think it is a good thing, if you like to spend real cash you can do so "legaly", even funcom has put in paid points in anarchy online that you then can use for flying vehicles for instance.

I like to play a lot of different chars in a game, i mean why pay for wow and only play one class on one side, so with like all classes on 2 servers grinding cash is getting really nasty, sure now you might say stop playing many and only play one single toon, would love to but that burns me out fast leading me to stop playing all together.

I do agree that some of the sellers i noticed in game some time ago was really nasty spamming you but the service i used a few times never did any in game advertising what so ever, to me the spamming is more anoying then the fact that people buy cash/items/chars.

I wonder how many people in wow share account info which is also against the rules, but many do cause they might need that priest for a raid or tank, don't see many people complain about that even though the owner of that char might gain items he should not have cause he/she was not playing.

I played on a pvp server and well even standing a chance you needed some good stuff, and while stuff in the outlands are rather good even quest rewards the 50+ levels before that is not as good, not that it matters much if you have great gear when the attacker almost always was 30+ levels above you.

Can't say i done a whole lot of twinking but the game is still fun, sure i like the soloability of the game, much thanks to my working hours that can differ a lot and i like to be able to change to another char at a whim or just log off and go watch a dvd or read a book.

The graphics while not super is not something that bothers me, sure i play vanguard and the graphics there is stunning but for me graphics is just one part that makes a game good or bad, the depth in anarchy helps a lot to.

Opps sorry :)

Well i like to think that they do what they can, but maybe i'm just showing to much faith in there abilities, but i still think it was a good call to shut it down to find the hack, not like soe after they accidently put beta merchants on live servers and then not taking them down instantly to fix it, people got rolled back days/weeks after that incident and lost xp/flags/raid loot, and that from buying a legit item from a player merchant that might have been made with items from the beta vendors.

Both my mp and engi are good soloers, sure costly but that might not be a problem.

My fixer is having a bit of a problem though even if considered a good soloing class, he is not super twinked or anything but roots tend to drop close to instantly and the 10+ minutes snares seem to slow the mob for 10 seconds at best, recasting tend to drain all my nano and well the heal over time nanos are not enough to keep me alive, and the level locks on fixer nanos suck, feels like 75% or more of the nanos have level locks :(

At the lower levels the worst soloer would likely be a doc, takes forever to kill anything worth any xp, but now at 103 using 3 dots + a gimpy gun(my doc is nanomage so shotty skill is dark blue) i start to kill bit faster.

Enforcer is not as bad as one might think but sheesh the amount of treatment kits you use up to heal the massive hp is insane :)

Soldier does rather well to, my adv is bit gimpy i admit but fun and well i have some problems killing mobs not much higher then me, need better swords but lack skill and ip

Agent well mine is 84 now and that is my first ever char, taking on mobs my own level is fairly okey thanks to aimed shot, but he is not an easy soloer(rarely use false profession on him), my agent is opifex seems that is more or less the standard way, or well it used to be back a few years ago.

Crat well better then agent if you ask me but takes a lot of work with charm/calms and such, my crat is nanomage and well the low hp can get nasty, i rarely run out of nano on the other hand, trox have more hp but nano/nanoskills hurt.

Why don't you ask the guy/girl hacking for a reimbursement, there the ones causing problems

True cause this being the second major hacking issue CCP has had doesnt mean there is any form of a security issue.

/sarcasm off

So what, people hacking are scum plain and simple, just because you can does not mean you should now does it?
