I might have cancelled my account thanks to my bad economy but i would still say this was a good call, sure no one likes downtime but having account info or cc info stolen is far worse.

And maybe one day when hell freezes over they update the site for eq1 to, i still can't even see my own gear in certain slots, and those items are vendor bought stuff from Dragons of norrath expansion :( magelo might have it's shortcomings namely not supporting anarchy online but it works well compared to the soe site monstrosity.

I have an all access account so had vanguard for a while but haven't played much until recently, all i can say is wow the game is really fun, makes me feel like eq1 did back at 2001.

With a fairly powerfull computer i play in 1680 * 1050 resolution and the game looks stunning, so far i haven't had much trouble sure performance can drop at times but somewhat expected considering the graphics and resolution, still at this point in time i have a blast.

I used the G15 for a while and it was nice and all but it was the first ever keyboard i had that the symbol on the keys where worn off, my left alt key was more or less blank, the function keys also made the entire "regular" keyboard bit shifted to the right so i often ended up hitting the wrong key.

Currently i use the microsoft natural 4000 keyboard, like it a lot since i do a lot of gaming but also programming, hacking xml and such.

I have no intentions of trying WAR when it arrives, and who says it will be bug free? AoC i will get whenever it ships, always liked the comics, hopefully it will not be yet another more of the same as games like vanguard, lotr, wow feels like.

Tried wineq2 before, worked okey, i do experience a lot of crashes right now, well not as bad when i run both sessions in

windowed mode, fullscreen used to crash after one or 2 switches, new computer has 4gig ram and nice gfx card so there is plenty of power

Thanks for the tip, belive when you install the new vista compatible player it removes the old one first, but will give it a try, my free month is long gone and maybe i give up on the game again, i have a hard time adapting to the weird keyboard layout and the the cute sounds in the playonline browser, whereever you click there is some cute sound playing *rips hair*

As for vista in general haven't had to much trouble, wow ran okey, currently playing anarchy online works just as well as in xp, lotr seems okey but haven't played it much, vanguard hmm dunno :) everquest seems okey but haven't played much on the new comp, old one was okey with vista, well everquest crashes from time to time when you switch to desktop a few times but did under xp to.

2 runs okey on my new computer, haven't tried 3 yet, but eq tends to crash after a lot of switching, might help that i run both sessions in window mode (1280*1024)

Read the earlier posts on this subject and while it sounds easy enough i just can't get the damn game to run, i have downloaded the vista client of playonline, installed it then installed ffxi from the dvd (vana diel collection 2006 or something like that) i log on to playonline go to games and hit ffxi and get that i can't run it cause the game is not installed :(

tried to reinstall all of it with same result.

I run windows vista ultimate, amd 5600+ cpu, 4gig ram, nvidia 8800gtx if that can cause any problems, tempted to try to install an older version of windows in a vmware session, but guess perfomance will take a hit doing so.

Don't recall when i first got anarchy but think the game was rather new, still have 2 active accounts both payed that i started playing more now that i deleted wow, but i also have active accounts in eve, swg, matrix, eq1, eq2, vanguard but as it feels right now everquest and anarchy are the ones i miss the most, played eq1 since 2001 and that was my first mmo.

Just dropped my wow accounts and started playing anarchy more again, having loads of fun with the alien mother ship missions and the new personal research.

As for graphics well vanguard have great graphics in comparison but i rarely play it anyway, guess after playing so many mmo's they just start to feel like "more of the same"

Well this might ruin the game play for others, if you ask me allowing lvl 70s to rape lvl 20's and corpse camp them for hours is killing the fun for me, and well it is allowed cause there is a pvp resolution, but when people that can do something don't give a damn that part is void, but guess i learnt my lesson, never play on a pvp server without level limits on pvp.

But i cancelled my accounts and deleted my toons anyway so i don't care anymore.

Well i used to have multiple accounts and at some times you might need to get cash to one guy to buy a nice perhaps rare item popping up on ah, with 1 hour delay on cash chance is you miss the item.

Not sure it does much to the sellers anyway.

The closest game to no have levels today is eve online, all is skill which you can train even when not online,

bit to heavy on pvp for my taste but can be fun in small doses :)

As for crazy level grinds, just look what happens when a game like everquest increases the level cap, people grind like crazy to get the last 5 levels in as short time as possible, then complain again that the game is boring :)

I played everquest since 2001 and that guy is now lvl 64, in anarchy online that i started sometime in 2003 iirc my highest is 146, top level there is 220 so can't say i'm in any rush :D

I'd say that the customer support has been good in anarchy the times i needed it sure it may not be instant but no game
have instant gm assistance.

If you must compare it to games like wow i'd say yes wow looks better but has a crap load of rude people, and blizzard sure
try to get rid of there customers, i bought Burning crusade for one of my accounts over a month ago, i still have the email from
blizzard stating it was updated successfully, i played in hellfire done loads of quests and now it all of a sudden claims i don't have
the expansion, another of my accounts they decieded there was something wrong, they haven't told what is wrong though, char i have has been unplayable for over a month out of the 3 months i payed for, they sure don't work fast the last email on this matter was sen't 2 weeks ago, and i had hopes to get him to 70 during my vacation, i had been able to gain 7 levels on him after i moved him from my old server to the one i play on now before they decieded that "something" was not right, blizzard, and lately servers have been rather buggy to, had a few hours outage last night on my main server for unknown reasons, i feel more and more frustration playing this game and canceling my accounts comes into my mind more often.

As for free players and no access to forum, i can see how that can be frustrating but then again they can't give you all for free, don't have any froob accounts myself but i have 2 accounts with all expansion for 2 boxing :)
As for the official forum, you still have read access and reading the ma section/newcomer section could provide some answers to some of your questions, though the froob site and forum i hear good things about so likely worth visiting :)

As for blind group invites i have never played a game where that is more frequent then in wow, blind group invites or duels or guild invites pop up all the damn time, and since i play on a pvp server having a lvl 20 spam my lvl 60 hunter with duel challenges in the middle of a major attack on crossroads sure pisses me off(i played on the horde side)

Both games have there ups and downs, i done some alien mothership missions 2 boxing lately, lot ot fun but ouch it is hard, the tank type alien sure dishes out some nasty dmg

I still feel that the graphics in anarchy are okey and set the mood just right, not that i mind better graphics but look at vanguard for instance graphics are nice but it still fails to hold my attention.

Not sure about the minimap trouble you mention, i run the game now on a 22" samsung wide screen monitor with a 8800GTX gxf card and it looks fine, it was okey on my old comp to with 19" samsung and 6800GT card, bit more speedy now though thanks to faster cpu more memory(4gb) and faster graphics card :)

Would be nice if you could do that, or why not have a returning player option where you can buy the keys only,
but i don't mind a download even though it probably would be  a large one, but can't be worse the vanguard :)

With everquest i log on and get asked if i like to order the new expansion press 2 buttons and it's done, now of course this
requires that you allready have a working account but it sure is nice and easy.

Plenty  of good ones out there, maybe not like FFXI but in someways i'm glad, the interface in FFXI was the part i disliked the most, wonder if they can make it more weird if they try :D

I currently play eve,eq1,eq2,vanguard,matrix,swg(all on station access so all for one price) , anarchy online and wow.

I like wow a lot, not into the highlevels yet but it feels like i can make progress with fairly low time, what i really hate is the bloody ganking that takes place, sure i play on a pvp server so some fighting is to be expected but when you are lvl 27 and get ganked by 2 lvl 70's about 10 times it is not exactly fun, i think there should be some kind of level limit on pvp like it is in anarchy online.

Vanguard seems like it can be nice with some nice crafting skills, but if no one plays it so you can sell stuff it might fall on it's face anyway, the system reqs might turn of some people to.

I tried out ffxi a while back but the interface alone turned me off, and now that i like to try it again you have to buy a new set of discs, man what a waste when you have the orig game + first 2 expansions :(

Wow fits me rather nicely, i can't stand to play a single char all the time so i have at least one of each class in wow, i change a lot so grouping can get tricky :) but wow is working out okey solo so far(highest char is 42), also with my work planning a few hours ahead can be tricky and well people tend to not like when you have to leave with next to no advanced notice.

Everquest is still fun but takes a lot of time to once you get to about 50ish and you get ruined if you like to stay up on expansions with a new one coming out every 6 month or so.

Eve is not bad but i play it for short periods only, i do mostly mining and building things :)

Just got vanguard and the tradeskills seems like they can be interesting, but then again they remind me a lot of the tradeskills in horizons which was very nice(my opinion you might think different :D ) Vanguard seems like a nasty resource hog though and with my fairly okey computer it runs bit sluggish, probably won't run much better now that i installed windows vista

Currently using the melee smith 2hb or plastic pole on my enf, melee smith is okey and rather east to get since it's a merchant, plastic poles drops of mobs in shadowlands, not sure if they require sl to use though, melee smith is "old world" stuff, Anarchyarcanum's info on melee smith the one i use is the shining black staff, this guy can be a bit of a pain to get to if clan, omni have an outpost close by(10-3)

Tried the alien 2hb but was not all impressed, had no special attacks so not that great, rather pricey to upgrade, might require alien invasion to.
