The PvP in the game is pretty fun in a massive fps sort of way but overall the game lacks depth which is primarily what I'm looking for at the moment. |

I like the low fantasy/sci-fi element to your ideas, kindof along some of the same stuff I've been thinking of. |

I havn't ever liked raiding. The rewards just aren't worth the effort. They should make them so a piece of loot drops for every class off bosses, not just a few that a certain class and spec can use. If they made it not so much of a time sink this way I might consider raiding. But I guess that's the point, to get them longer subs.... tremendous time sink. I like running new dungeons and stuff maybe a few times, not indefinetely. The only raid I've done is Kara in WoW, I beleive less than 10 times very occasinaly. Just can't stomach how much time it takes to do more raiding. |

I keep my system very well maintained, and I know there's no virus/malware on it. While I only had 1 crash last preview weekend, I've had many this one along with a few other little bugs. I remember one where a bench was walking around like a npc. |

While you won't be getting ganked by someone that vastly outlevels you it is still possible to be ganked on a core server if you're pvp flagged and on an open server all the time... each tier is around 10 levels or something so it is possible to get ganked by someone 9 levels higher than you. |

I will be somewhat glad if AAA developers get off the genre since they're mostly in it for one thing and that's the $$$. It would be great of more talented and motivated indie developers were inspired to make something more original and fun who have dreams of great games and would put their hearts into them. ATM, only indie devs have the balls to try something new. Their games may lack some quality from AAA dev games but by no means does that mean they can't be fun. Who knows how Darkfall will turn out but it's one example of what could be a great game, made from essentially indie devs. I would almost rather advertised based games took over the market... I never did like paying a monthly fee, especially for games that don't dish out the "free" continuous content. We pay monthly fees for what exactly? Server costs? f2p games don't seem to have a problem with them. Patches? Try completing the game before releasing it. Customer service? Free with single player games and should be for MMOs. Why would I want to play a game that's almost exactly like another game I'm bored with? I think that's one of the problems developers have these days... they see WoW and it's billions and try to immitate it when customers would rather play the original than some knockoff. Even if WoW wasn't the original king, it's the current king and who doesn't want to be king? You can only make the same thing so many times before it's perfected and WoW has done it already. Developers need to create something new or move along. I'm just waiting for a MMO that completely breaks the mold. WAR is not that game, although I'll still play it for a bit, probably not for more than a few months but I had fun in the preview weekend. My prediction is that it will be somewhat of a success, but not on the level of WoW. |

So a MMO is considered a failure if it's not making WoW sub numbers these days? Last time I checked the majority of other western/EU MMOs have the same sub numbers as AoC. LotR has around 300k subs... is it a failure too? |

After watching all the clips I can't help but end up with an astounding "meh" feeling. Everything showed in the videos was sub-par. Adventurine really needs to get some marketing people because they did a very poor job of capturing the features they're boasting about. Any MMO dev can show a lot of PvP footage but where's the player looting? The character development? customization? I'll give them some credit for finally getting some real footage out the door but it seems there wasn't much thought/content put into them. They need much help in the presentation department. The graphics do look ok, especially since the game is pretty much indie, but the world/objects are really lacking detail. these videos leave me asking WHERE'S THE BEEF? |

Kinda cool at first but gets boring and repetative very quickly. Plus, at this stage, it'll be near impossible to find other low level players to do missions with. |

I don't think there was any system in place to balance the population in the preview weekend, although I don't think it's really needed, There seemed to be an even amount of players on both sides. |

I spent most of my time in PvP in WoW... after getting a taste of superior PvP in WAR, I'll be switching for sure. WAR PvP seemed a little slow at first but once you get used to it, it's real fun and addicting. |

I'm keeping my pre-order after playing preview weekend. It's great that there are no long stuns. That fact makes it better than WoW PvP by an enourmous amount. Tired of the stunfest in WoW. |

I didn't read this massive thread except the OP. I really don't think they'd pull in much more money with a sandbox since sandbox is a niche market. |

WAR does feel really instanced when you use a flight master to go everywhere which brings up a loading screen. |

I've been playing a shaman, and all I've been doing is spamming my heals, even to people outside my group in RvR, and let me tell you, it is a ton of work to do. Many people may seem like they're not getting healed but guess what? You're not the only one on the battlefield taking damage. Healers are not the key to immortality, You will still die with a healer depending on the situation. If you don't like the healing situation... go roll a healer, maybe you'll appreciate them more. One thing I noticed is that in some scenarios... or maybe all, I can spam heals the entire fight and runepriests always score higher than me even when they're half my rank. I suppose runepriests are Orders pure healer and shaman is more of a hybrid? Maybe I'll go do more Chaos battles and see how high the Zealots score. |
