Vanguard killers? Dude, AoC dispite its problems and WAR destroyed Vanguard. Over a year ago SOE put out that VG had something like 50k active users...Both AoC and WAR are in the hundreds of thousands. Sony has no "big boy" games, they wrecked them all. What they have left are a bunch of half realized and half finished, empty server games.

Take off the wooden stock put a <gasp> scary black synthetic stock, a bipod. It's the exact sniper rifle the U.S. military uses. Can be bought at Wal-Mart. Let me say that again, Wal-Mart rifle used by military snipers. Something I noticed in the gun shop these past couple of weeks. AK-47s are all sold out here. Who's buying them? Black women (they watch too many movies too, AK sucks). Think it's for them? Nope probably for someone that isn't allowed to buy one. Ok, so ban legal sales. Still think criminals are going to magically not have guns? lol I wish you lived next to me. I can put a NRA sign on my house and you can put a GreenPeace sign on your house and let's see who gets robbed first. Oh and btw, the 2nd Amendment isn't up for debate. We have a right to own guns. LoL, Whatever dude. I've used more weapons then you will ever actually see. I've been in more firefights then you have more then likely. Not even gonna argue your half wit post. |

Thats a terrible story I have no issue with owning a weapon BUT * They need to be strickly regulated. Cars are strickly regulated I'm going to bet that AK-47 was an illegally obtained weapon in any event. I was a weapons expert with many small arms and some heavy weapons in the military. They are not toys, they are not "home defense" (especially an AK-47) they are not a "deterrent", to be a deterrent the other party needs to know you have it...all they do is kill people.

From one CoX player to another you will probably find both WoW and WAR simplistic and base with a very low quality community.

Todays MMO's are a lot different from the first ones. IMHO, they are no better or worse. The basic formula is still in there, mindlessly do the same thing over and over for numbers. Its just fluffed up a lot more and much faster. The primary difference is that because of the speed these days, restrictive "endgames" are all the rage. MMO's should be about "open worlds" like the pioneer games of the first generation. Where they need to evolve is in that the focus needs to be taken off of the math of "levels, loot and classes" and more focus on the open ended, non-linear adventure. Sure the math aspect is important, you need mechanics but today it acts as content.

I'm not sure I'm tracking this...you quit a game AFTER you are playing it because you read unfavorible reviews? How does your enjoyment of the game factor into that? I guess if you are on the fence with it anyway, that would make sense BUT what if you like and enjoy the game? Would you let a review change that? You did say "no matter how happy you are with it"... So if you find a game that is "all that" to YOU, the review of some knothead is going sour that? Weird. Anyway, generally speaking I read the reviews BEFORE I purchase a game, then if one is availible, I do a trial (or demo in the case of a non-MMORPG) If I am happy with all of that, I purchase the game. All you MMO hype followers who pre-order...you deserve everything you get. Needless to say its been over a year since I actually purchased a new MMORPG. Trials and betas are your friend. Reviews are OK to get a general impression but keep in mind, they are just one persons opinion. AoC did pretty well in reviews...obviously that wasn't all that accurate. Reviews are to help you make an informed buying decission not to sway your opinion of it after you purchase it. There is no point in reading a review if you already own something, you already know if it was good or bad. You are just looking for validation at that point.

Set up fire positions in schools send military units into civilian populated areas. Ask yourself this, how many of those kids would still be alive if your tank platoon never left the U.S.?
Would they really invade the U.S. given the opportunity? Have they ever tried this? I don't think we should rule it out, but the enemies we are currently fighting have never made any attempt to do so or showed any sign of ever building up to it. Should they ever do so, you would soon see your own children adopting the same roles. People don't sacrifice their children lightly. They do not endanger them if they can avoid it. I'm sure our enemies would all prefer to have no war at home and instead have their armies rampaging through our homelands while their families were all tucked up safe in bed 4,000 miles away too. We didn't give them that choice. The ability to make that decision for themselves has been removed from them by us. And I agree, we should do whatever it takes to prevent them nuking our cities. I can do savage. The news portrays our enemies as victims. It's not a difficult portrayal to make. That is what they are. Our victims. May it always be so and not the other way round. I'm proud to come from a nation with the balls to make victims out of our enemies, but I'm still human enough to feel regret, remorse and guilt. This is the price of the good life in my country I hold so dear. You clearly do not understand. We can continue in PM. My friends and soldiers sacrifice are not for display to be mocked and disrespected.

Good, then you have every right to complain about these people then :) We pay the price for their party. Over 20 years for me in both military and civil service. Ignore the direction at you and let others read it, lord knows it applies to many here. Thanks for your service and sacrifice, it means everything. Without it we are lost.

Please, read your history. Your lifestyle is fat compared to the generations before. The problem with America today is the people have forgotten how give, build, work and strive for excellence with their neighbors & families not at their expense. We have become a self centered, materialistic, lazy people who expect everything but want to pay and sacrific nothing. You wanna cry about how terrible it is in our country go live in Pakastan or the Sudan for a week. Go on, give it a go. Then come back and moan about how you give up...if you survive. You "give up" ...you gotta do something first in order to give up.

Yeah they lost me with that going back to WWII theme. Personally, although I liked CoD4 a lot, I didn't think it was all that. I still prefer Battlefield 2 with the "Project Reality" mod or games like ArmA and Steelbeast Pro. I like the more realistic / simulator type stuff. Designing modern theme games is tough for devs though, seeing as games are sold / played worldwide it's difficult to portray sides without crossing into touchy territory. If you want something really good thats modern you will need to get into Mods.

For once IMHO there is a lot of interesting looking stuff on the way. Interesting to me mainly because its not a list of fantasy reskins. APB (hopefully we at least get beta next year) Fallen Earth Earthrise Champions Star Trek (again maybe at least beta)
On the downside, I have that "gut" about "The Old Republic" and "Stargate". I don't have a warm fuzzy about these two titles. Dunno why but....the gut hasn't been wrong yet. Darkfall...seriously? Wooden hovertanks.....not.

Oooops, Let me tell you about "oops" Let me tell you about these animals over there. I'll tell you about the animal who put a little girl on the side of the road and as we passed yelled "help my daughter, help my daughter" and when our medic dismounted and got close, detonated her killing them both. Let em tell you about my good friend who while leading his tank platoon across a bridge were blocked by a bunch of kids. When they stopped insurgents fired RPGs at the structure of the bridge raining shrapnel down on everyone severly wounding my friend and the loader and killing most of the kids. Let me tell you about my 4 friends killed when an IED manufactured in Iran ripped their vehicle to pieces. Or maybe about my friend who basically had the right side of his body blown off when their truck hit a mine. Unfortunately I have a lot more. Shit f*cks World peace. please you little ignorant punks. These people don't want world peace, they want to kill. That's all they want, that's all they know. They gladly us | |
