Yeah i canceled my account about a  month ago. I really hated to see this happen to TR, i was really really a TR fan. I really really hate the direction or lack there of that this game went in. I still cant believe how a game could be so fun in the beggining to just plane dull in the end. I was one of those people who would go to all lengths to defend TR.

Now i have to keep it real, i hate that my beloved TR died out on me once i hit lvl 50, i wish the devs did a better job. Ahhh well...

If not your being silly, you have no concept of what the game has to offer since you haven't seen it all.

If i spend the money on a normal machine gun at level 5 the things i'm facing drop like flies.

They do at 15 if you have a really nice gun, which you said you did.  They eat your face at 30+

You haven't played enough.  But that's your choice.

Later tater.

Dont be a fanboy, i played to a lvl 50 sniper, 45 gaurdian, and 33 spy, he's right the game is boring, but i was luck to quit wasting my money a long time ago. Once you actually hit lvl 30 you see the game for what its worth, and thats nothing. TR was great in the beggining, but later in the game you see how the dev's just threw stuff together. They obviously didnt know what they were doing with this game, and the hybrid races give me a break please. There is no high lvl content, and no end game content, i dont care if the game has been out for 4 months. I've played other mmo's that have been out for only 4 months that were way successful than TR. (Lineage 2, WoW, CoH) just to name a few, plane and simple the game is a mess, time to move on to some thing else.

Im with you man, but i would have said good bye along time ago, dont listen to the fanboys, save your money while you can.

See you around.

Agreed, i've played MMO's for 5+ years and i dont really think its a bad thing if a game is instanced. I dont see what the problem is, if its instanced, so what, i'd rather have that than one big huge laggy world. It really doesnt make a difference to me, i played TR and it was instanced, it really didnt matter or did it have a negative affect on my gaming experience. The ranting here about instancing is rediculous and unwarranted, move on to some thing else that really matters.

hopefully someone will make a good Sci-Fi mmo soon

WoW, the only one left on the server, i like that line. But i couldnt agree with you more, which is why i quit the game after the 1.4 patch. I think that if not for all of the Marketing (which TR was marketed  twice as much as auto assault was) this game would have been toast a long time ago. It will definately take a seat on the bench next to auto assault and a few other MMO failures. In tim people, give it time.

I played lineage 2 and saw the ubiquitious bot problem that NCsoft did jackshit about. I will never ever purchase or try another NCsoft product. They are a terrible. They let bots overtake a game that wasn't even instanced so that the bots directly hampered the game play. Absolutely pathetic. Hearing that TR was a failure is music to my ears. How could people think NCsoft could actually make a good game? The more I thought about Lineage 2 the more I wondered why I ever liked it. Zero character customization, totally screwed economy, community that ebayed and denied it all (like US baseball players), the economy basically made you ebay. It had only a few decent features like the castle and seed system. Sure it was a tough game full of ebayers . . . .

Either way, this is me pouring salt on a wound, yes I'm bitter, but any company that claims "they do all they can against bots" when it is clearly obvious they are lying especially when the bots don't allow you to even level, deserves to go bankrupt.

/end rant.

Woohoo. NCsoft sucks. Look at TR an unfinished game . . . Why would anyone respect a company that pushes an unready game.

Cryomatrix

LoL i played Lineage 2 for 4 years and i agree with you on the whole bot thing. The games economics did force players to ebay which was sad. Yes i did ebay once upon a time, and as you know, if you wanted to remain competitive in Lineage 2 "you had to ebay".

ON another note there is no use or point arguing with _shadowmage about TR, in these forums you find  him defending TR in every aspect. He may not be a little rational at times, but he will go down with the ship (TR) as most captains tend to do. You know i use to be like _shadowmage, but then i woke up and canceled my subscription. I had a lvl 45 sniper, 40 gaurdian, and 30 some thing spy. The game is awesome up to lvl 30 but after that, the game is repetitive and dull and lacks high lvl content. Being that this game does not have a very large player base makes the game even more boring, and challenging at high lvls to the point where you say its just not worth it.

Dont get me wrong, im not trolling, or bashing the game, im stating facts that are drawn from my extensive game experience in TR. I dont even give TR 6 months until it turns into a vangaurd, or D&D online, or Lotro. I give TR at most 3 months.

The game is fun in the beggining, but dont expect the fun to last for long.

So what?  You act like its the end of the world or something.  Many MMO have these issues.  Anyone who was took a step back and had a sober look at TR should have realized the Dev team did not and does not have a great vision of the overall detail of the game and in general has poor design process with a decent amount of vacilation.

Let's all buy sub-par games that don't improve anything!

The state of the game as it is now might have been acceptable 8 years ago. This poor quality should NOT be accepted as a norm, and it's insulting to gamers everywhere that developers continue to crank out this mediocrity.

Bad launch, poor design, and few (if any) developer - community relations. Tabula Rasa is a huge leap backwards in MMOG development and should not be defended.

So please, stop encouraging people to buy this lousy game.

Agree with most of what he said, cant believe how fast the game is dieing, but it is, and some people will not admit it. I stuck up for this game from day one, after you reach lvl 50, or even 40 there's no content, and the game slowly kills you off. The high lvl game play in TR is HORRIBLE....i can no longer defend this game with honor. I have to be unbiased and face reality, the game is dieing.

Sorry..if not already dead..:(

This is a cautionary tale. I screwed up with TR big-time.

I'm the type of gamer who tries out all the classes then picks one which I feel best "fits" me, and after that I focus on developing that one character as much as possible during my playtime and right now; I've finished the game. My engineer has every Logos and has completed every instance/ToO in-game.

I hit level 50 with my engineer in early January and for the past two months I've just hang around spamming General and getting more frustrated at the game's shortcomings; however I fully accept that I'm at least partly to blame for my frustration. I peaked too early; I was too hardcore for the game.

TR's PvP is a mindless gank-fest which doesn't interest me in the slightest and CP's give only crappy modifications that I don't want or wouldn't risk applying to my purples for fear of breaking them.

So right now, the only thing I can do while I wait for more content is farm striders for purples to sell on the MS and earn me more money that I really don't need. I've just reactivated my LOTRO sub whilst I wait for more content.

So; the moral of this story is: Don't do what I did; don't rush to level 50 as it WILL kill the game for you.

To late for me, i've already maxed out in this game, and deactivated my accounts. Probably no point in ever reactivating, i cant believe how little content this game has at high lvls...rediculous.

Don't waste your money on the game without trying it for free first.

You want my opinion on why the game sucks without just saying it sucks?  Alrighty.

1. No official forums or Dev blog, there is literaly close to zero communication between Devs and players.

2. No end game content, when you hit 50 you can kill striders over and over or do clans wars which is controlled by the clan leaders(with rules).  Thats all the EG there is, no PvP servers, nothing.

3. The player base is weak, expect to find yourself soloing most of the game, this includes the instances.

4. The crafting system is weak and everyone who plays it knows it.

5. Other then doing missions(quests), clan wars, or defending/attacking control points, there is nothing else to do.

6. They just recently made mobs take longer(MUCH longer to kill), this increases how long it takes to level, most likely they did this to buy themselves time to put in EG content.  Unfortunitly for them I bought the game a week before thos, loved the game because it was so fast and now it's a joke.  Have fun crouching and holding down your mouse button as you use your leach gun on 1 mob for 10-20 seconds until it dies and moving onto the next.

7. Pace of adding new content, slow.  Go look at the 1.5 patch notes, they are a joke, I have low doubts TR is gonna have enough new content added to have it compete in the future.

I really could go on, but why bother.

Honestly, I got 20 days left of my account and I doubt I'll be resubbing.

39 Demo, 30 Engi, 15 exo, 18 commando.

Try it yourself, you really won't be impressed by it after about a month of playing.  It's pretty sweet at first but then it becomes even more repetitve then other MMOs I have played.

And I want to say how pissed I'am at 1.4 patch again, half the people I knew quit when they did that.

Too bad, seems Garriot didn't learn that if you don't communicate with the players and give them what THEY want, you will fail.

Hope you enjoyed my explanation for why the game sux instead of just saying it sux.

LoL..wow.

Sorry to say but i agree 100%, but you will still have more people that will disagree 100%. Well guess what i used to be on the other side of the fence with the people who would disagree. The OP knows what he's talking about, and i dont dare troll or call him a troll.

I loved this game when it came out, and i played from day one, i have a lvl 45 snyper, 40 gaurdian, and 33 spy. I wont even repeat most of what the OP posted but sorry to say its all true. I cant understand how they made the critical mistakes of making the game suck the higher in lvl you get. There little to NO content which pushed me away along with it now taking a year to kill a mob.

Still you will have the people who will come along and disagree with me and the OP thats fine. The truth is the truth, this game that i loved slowly dies the higher and higher you get in TR, i was just hoping it would hold me over until Aion, and AoC.

TR at best is a niche game, and a 1 maybe 2 month time filler, have fun, i know i did my first few months. All in all its a good game for 1 - 3 months, thats it.

It was fun up until then, and then it got boring.

I quit when they updated the UI in a massive patch back in December, since it made any tools a pain to use. I didn't have any real reason to play at that time, so I guess that did it for me.

I hate to agree with the negative but i played TR since it first came out, when your high lvl the game just dies. There's just not enought people to play with at high lvls and even if there was there's not enough content to keep you in the game. I like TR for a while, but once you get past 30, and into the 40's, there is nothing to do. The game dies.

It was fun in the beggining but since 1.4 + high lvl, its not so fun.

I dont know what the heck the dev's are trying to do, what direction their trying to take this game in. I've paid enough money for this game, and after 1.4 the game is drag me down slowwwww. Not to mention where the heck is all the high lvl content, i think that draged me down more than any thing else. I've 36 spy, 34 gaurdian, and a 45 sniper. I've tried to force my self to continue on with this game. Not any more, its not fun "for me" any more, and the pace is to slow. I think alot of people will see what the high lvl people are talking about once you get there.

Dont get me wrong, like i said i liked TR and it "was" very very fun for me, but slowing the pace down, forcing you to group, and a lack of high lvl content was enough to make me push the cancel button. I was really really hoping that TR could hold me over until Aion, and AoC.

For every one else enjoy the game, remember every one has a right to voice there opinion, and we all see things different. Just because we all dont agree, or we have different prospectives, that does not mean that any of us are wrong and should be crusified for the way we see things.

Happy Gaming all.

Yeah i stuck with TR all the way through, but after 1.4 there was no reason to continue to play. I mean i stuck with this game since the beggining. Forcing peeps to be in groups in order to play is kind of tough when you dont have a huge player base like a WoW, SwG, or FFX.

I hung'em up and deactivated my account a week ago, i wont bashed the game because i liked it while it was fun. There's just not enough content to hold you over after you hit even lvl 34 (just my opinion)., and now they made it hard to solo being i loved the sniper. So i do wish every one well and hope you all continue to enjoy the game. This Veteran here has to continue to wait for Aion 1st, and AoC 2nd.

The Devs have expressed that all items will be attainable in all 3 ways. They say the easiest and the quickest way to get the "uber gear" is via PvP in the Abys. However, you are not limited to engaging in PvP for getting the "mace of the apocalypse". You may also decide to engage in a series of quests to attain it.

When all is said and done, the Devs are taking away many of the excuses people have for buying currency. But, as was said before, there will ALWAYS be people to buy currency.

Very well said...

As in Tabula Rasa, there is no need to ever buy currency, as alot of the uber gear and weapons are easily obtained through simple questing, and the stuff drops from the mobs. Being an MMO vet i was like "wow" i cant believe that they virtually eliminated the farmer. Im hoping that NCsoft atleast would consider using the same if not similar approach that it currently decided to use in Tabula Rasa.

I still cant wait for Aion...

Most of NCsoft high profile games are never free, i've played to many of NCsofts games and extremely doubt that Aion will be free. If it is, (which its not) it want last to long, like most F2P games. Any how, im upgrading my stuff, i dont think i need to. Im moving away from ATI after being with them for my whole computer life. Going to go to the 8800GT in sli, and probably AMD phenom, i just cant do the Intell thing.

From the looks of this game and the environment having a nice cpu and gpu will be important. So start saving your money guys/girls...

Hrmm i've heard alot about AoC but i really dont see any thing special there. It just kind of reminds me of LoTr sort of, again thats just me. Im waiting for Aion, yeahhhh baby, and i was hoping TR could hold me over until then but im starting to worry. There's just not to many good Rpg/mmo games out to play right now.

I played L2 for 3 and a half years, and have done extensive research on Aion. I gave it a 5 because i just cant absolutely wait until Aion comes out. By the way Aion is nothing like L2, they may have a few similar features but Aion is definately no clone of L2. I'd day it appears that Aion will be 3 x better than L2.

Just my thoughts

I feel your pain, once you get to lvl 35 thats when all the broken quest missions start to catch up with you. Now that lost xp starts to catch up with you, i am starting to see that the game is a pretty good game, with minimal broken quest up to lvl 30. But after lvl 30 you can be prepared for some type of grind, and it seems the higher and higher you get the more the broken quest really start to affect you.

Im hoping that the next patch will resolve most of these issues, but im not one to complain, or to troll, but i feel your pain man.

LoL...wow, what a laugher, i like TR but give me a break. You see the way those things look? What a waste of time, i know the dev's could have done a much better job than that. Judging from the pictures, i wont even waste my time on a hybrid....they look so cheesey.
