Flamebait? No.... i'm allowed a opinion and if you want to let it bother you then thats upto you. 


Also you may disagree and i can't really argue as i have never played the game, however i don't ever trust people who are fans of a game because obviously they'll big it up. I have 3 friends who have played the beta and they all told me the same thing and as they didn't enjoy WOW and nore did i then i'll trust them that i wont like it.

 

That's not to say it's a bad game and we all have our own opinions but just it's not going to be for me.

 

Just as easily as I could say I have 16 friends who beta test is all day and night and say they love it. Saying, I heard, or a friend told me, basically means you have no backing to your argument. Everyone here could say that. It is funny how people always say my friends, my friends, but their friends who share the same interest in games, never post on the same forums. Unless your friends show up with valid proof they are in the beta, your points become invalid.

I hate that you are in beta and I am not. I know you can't say anything, so I won't ask.

I just hope you are enjoying it and helping to make the game better so that when the rest of us get to play, it will be as amazing as we pray it is

But from the sounds of it, you can pretty much stay in combat continuously. Not only is PvP the heart of WAR, but with the prospect of being able to finish your kill quests before you even know about them, you could slaughter-dance your way from one camp or city to the next... I can't remember the amount of times in WoW I got frustrated because I just committed mass genocide on the bandits in a region, only to be told to kill 10 more later on.

As fast paced and in your face as hellgate can be, I can understand your concern with Warhammer, and from the previews, posts, and podcasts... it looks like you will definately have less downtime than WoW or LotRO.

But if anyone from the beta can confrim that, please do so :)

How does Warhammer compare to the downtime in WoW, LotRO, and even Hellgate?

We aren't allowed to confirm it, but I posted a quote from a fansite about downtime up higher.

Obviously I am in beta, hence my xfire profile, but I will bring you an example of downtime from another website:

Only-WAR.com has it posted that you can take on 2-3 mobs a time that are your level and to go from 0-full in AP it takes about 6 seconds. Downtime is minimal.

If you guys volunteer the player with a bad comp, who can't render the long distance, then the group is to blame, not the game mechanic lol.

I feel there is a lot of crap out there, but it isn't dying. I think the numbers are bigger than they have ever been, but so is the amount of trash games.

The only race I had no interest in playing as was Empire. I will be playing a Dark Elf, but I had gone over the pro's and cons for myself over and over and settled with the Dark Elf Sorcerer.

How many more times? Once, if at all.

Will it change my opinion on it or the way I look at it? Not at all,  I understand it is a business and push backs happen. They are working hard to pump out a product they are proud of at the same time.

Back to the topic, I haven't played the beta, but if its done right it could take a chunk out of WoW.  But the sad truth is, WoW is a simple and boring game, but it's what the people want.

 

Even if a game came out that was better, the majority may not want better.

 

And different people like different games, just because some people say WAR won't do as well as WoW, doesn't mean I won't like it better than WoW.  In fact I like most games more than WoW.

It isn't the game style of game as WoW was. WoW was first and foremost a PVE Raid game, while WAR models itself after Dark Age of Camelot which is an RvR/PvP game. You can get to level cap through PvP alone without PVE, and you can get great gear through RvR without having to think if you do not PVE raid, that they have a huge gear advantage over you. It will be up to you to decide what game is best in your own mind. For me, it will be the best game I have played because I am enjoying the beta itself, more than I enjoyed WoW. Will it knock them off the subscription throne? I say no way. Not because it is a lesser game, but because that is a huge number to expect to hit, and history shows that no matter what game comes out, it hasn't been near the highest WoW numbers.

Well if radar is put in-game as a standard feature, its not something you would ever want to turn off on your client.  If you go into a pvp area with it turned off, and everyone else has it on, you would get swarmed and die without seeing them coming.

But personally I dont think radar as a game feature is a good idea.  My 2 cents.

I believe that is the opinion of most of us.

I have spent so much money into consoles, games, subscriptions, and computer upgrades that if I had never purchased any of them, I would likely be 20+ thousand dollars richer. Easily.

Not really this game was EXTREMELY buggy at release but only to encounter 1-2 bugs during a weeks play time is a good thing, even in WoW there are still bugs like the loot bug.

I played the game during beta and for the first month after launch but having a 50 Blood Mage with nothing to do made it boring because people were quitting left and right. I will wait for the free trial before thinking of resubbing again, I wouldn't want to rush back into what it was. Are the PvP servers still a huge gankfest and did they do anything to the infamy system? When I quit it had no impact on the game itself so there was no real reason to PvP, and when I did PvP I found healers like myself to be amazingly OP.

You would think that people who wanted to find information would head over to the official site first, and then after head, head over to WarhammerAlliance second to search for specific bits of information before posting threads, but it seems that just isn't how people are anymore and everyone just posts whatever.

We had two threads over at WHA talking about Sorceress being the Ranged DPS, and how you can play as both Male and Female Sorcs, and it was confirmed days ago. Unfortunately, somebody today just posted threads asking the very same topics asking for us to confirm it, instead of just taking twenty minutes to read it themselves considering both threads were withing the first five threads of the Sorc section.
