Well you're mistaken. Gods and Heroes is on hold indefinately. Even though they have gotten farther in developing that game they are refocusing all of their manpower and leftover finanical resources to make Star Trek Online. I'm guessing Paramount (iirc the owners of the Star Trek liscence) had a hand in this but in the end this is bad news for both games because ST:Online has to be good enough to cover the expenses of both Gods and Heroes as well as itself. If they don't handle things correctly for the next threeish years they'll be crippled financially and both games will die.

Thats a pity.

They'll have new financial resourcess when SOE buys the unfinished Gods and Heroes game.

Gods of Heroes is worth an outside punt as what I've seen of that has been impressive.

You missed the sad news about that game, I see.

In a few weeks SOE will add that game to their cart, just beleive me, they buy the unfinished game and release it..

This company has some very big names signed up ((The name of Salvatore, is more then enough to wet my appetitite)) and is supposedly to be creating an MMORPG.

And thats about it, i can't find anymore info, except from all those big names working on the project. Can anyone enlighten me with more info about this MMO project.

WAR will be solid but nowhere near the numbers some people are trying to claim.  200K-300K subs is a realistic expectation.

Dunno mate... all the RL people I know that are playing WoW are planning to switch to WAR the moment it comes out. Some of them do grumble about AoC as well but I can tell you that not one player I personally know plans to stick with WoW, especially since this crappy 80+ expansion has been announced (the Lich King something whocares whatever)

Sounds familiar... thats what people where claiming when WoW arived 200k to 300k max 500k but that would take over 2 years to reach..

Warhammer might get to 1.000.000 in less then a year if ......... Its a better game then WoW, if not, they'll crumble under 100K in a few months.

I just hope that TCoS gets the media attention it deserves, as i really beleive this game could surprise all and everyone. (((Sadly most current WoW players have never heard of the game yet)))

Secondly DAoC can be considered a 6 year long beta For WAR.  They are using everythign they learned from DAoC to make WAR A better game.

Sadly they are not allowed the best thing from DAoC in this new game.

Good RvR requires atleast 3 sides.

Never heard of that..

And then i did some research, nothing yet on a title, but those names like Salvatore, McFarlane and Kirchoff (wizzies of the coast) just wet my appatite.

It could very well be the game i play after TCoS (MMO's keep me occupied for aproximately 3 years)

Thank you Toughguy (Is this you curt/Ngruk ?)

Anyway...I'm not sure about which game will actually be the best as promised features mean nothing for a pre-release MMORPG. But as far as popularity this is my guess on subs after 2 months of release for each:

WAR- 275K

AoC- 120K

PotBS- 100K

TCoS- 80K

So we'll come back to this thread in a year and see how I did.

WAR will have way more subscribers after 6 months, atleast 500K. Maybe even 800K or more. But when word gets on the street and people find out about TCoS awesome gameplay.  it will surpass all others.

AoC success totally depends on how people like their combat system .  Currently it seems like the concept only works on paper and is very boring after playing the game for a few hours.

Warhammer will appeal to most WoW leavers, but it will never be as good as DAoC PvP just because the simple fact that there are only 2 sides in the conflict.

TCoS finally brings the PvP Warhammer promisses and the combination between FPS and MMO that AoC once promised. Add to that the great orriginall art style, the unique and new world withawesome lore.

If they can pull of the promised Shard conquests, where 5 high houses fight eachother over the ownership of a shard (zone) you might even have a system comparable to the good old DAoC RvR.

Warhammer will have the most subs....because it will appeal most to all those who got tired of WOW.

Despite the fact  that TCoS is the best game.... so i voted TCoS.

I personally think that Conan is not going to cut it.

What about you? Why did you get interested in CoS?

First off, its TCoS and not CoS.

And we all got interested in this game because it looks like an orriginall concept.

<sighs>

Gues what....these are roleplaying games....and thats exactly what i do when i play a female character, roleplay it.

In the D&D campaigns that i DM, there where allways one or two guys playing female characters, to give the roleplaying a twist. Nowedays our female members take that up their shoulders.

Sometimes i wonder how people can be so narrowminded in even asking this question.

I think you are way off the mark here. Both US abd europe demand the same quallity from a software product. What you describe is how developers might think about the european market. But not how european consumers think.

I bet my precious gold that they are playing the closed beta.

There is no ingame WT music, but there are 2 tracks on their latest album related to this game, one of which is the titlesong from TCoS named "The Howling"

WT are personall friends to some of the developers, and the developers offcourse are ALL fans of Within temptation, as am i and my daughter too

Now, personally, I have no issues with SoE as a dev. They have screwed up big time in the past and I hate their approach towards LoN, but they seem to be learning as they go and I can accept mistakes as part of that.

But... PLEASE never let them get their hands on CoS lol. They have absolutely no idea how to promote/ market a game and honestly just don't seem interested in doing so

Totally correct if my experience of EQ2 is anything to go by. SoE have let the devs of that game down massively, which is why it has a fraction of the players WoW has.

EQ2 is an awesome game......But EQ2 is in the habbit of letting people pay to play beta's. EQ2 and them forcing Sigil to release Vanguard early.

Next to that Vesavius hits the hammer right on the head...SOE totally refuses to promote their own games.
