I don't want a battle.

The WoW players can have there WoW, and all of us looking for a good MMO can have AoC.

OK, we don't know AoC will turn out yet. Maybe the devs are making it more "WoWish" right now.

And all people that want to have fun and true challenging combat can have TCoS. TCoS is the true mix between FPS and MMO, FPS mechanisme takes care of the aiming, while an MMORPG mechanisme takes care of the damage.

Or tCoS really is the alternative to T.B., isn't Huxley supposed to be a blend of FPS and MMO?

I hope tCoS when it comes out offers something new to the genre, it looks alright so far! I hyped it an 8 from what i've seen.

Well aren't you generous (No Sarcasm). Now the rest of this doesn't really concern you. TCoS has interested me about as much and a second course when I've already had enough. It's intrigued me enough to glance over it, give it a quick sniff, and decide that I'd be better off without it. From the www.MMORPG.com's overview points, I don't see to much that I like.

  • Dress to impress: From day 1 you will be able to look cool by choosing and changing clothes, armors, weapons, skills.
    • Really? This I don't like at all. All style no substance.
  • Influencing the world with your actions: This ranges from lifelike statues of your character in Quarterstone to unlocking and owning new parts of the worlds through questing, politics and conquest.
    • Sounds good, but I doubt that this can be done as well as the devs hope. The statues I mean. Unlocking new parts of the world I don't like one bit. Politics sounds good though.
  • ‘Join and play’, you don’t have to walk whole marathons before the fun starts.
    • Can't name a single game that I've played where you have to do any real work before you get to do stuff. Nothing to see folks.
  • ‘The Chronicles of Spellborn’ combat system based on skill decks. You will be able to create your own individual fighting style.
    • This sounds good, possibly. Depending on how they do it.

If it were by the MMORPG.com hype list, I'd give it a 6-7 but on the grand scale of where I think the games should be, it's be a 7-8 leaning on a 7.

Maybe you ought to give it some more attention, and read some more about it. You ought to see the true greatness of the game as it goes live.

* Dress to impress also means that stats are not bound to the items, but to the Sigils, which lets you choose freely which armor piece <looks> to combine with your best sigils<stats> its like socket items.. So at high level if you want to look different then the rest, you can.

* I am critical to teh influencing the world part too, I can't reallysay if i will like thsi system untill i experience it. ((But even the best games can't have everything))

* Join and play comes from the time of the Vanguard release, where it took me over 30 to 40 minutes to reach a party of friends.

*The combat system (spelldecks) is what makes this game so speciall in the first place... You do the aiming choose from your available actions adn then teh RPG system does rhe damage calculations.  It should be a great system, with Chians and reactionalls too.

But then i hope that you get a chance to play this game (Open beta test comming up) so the actuall gameplay may convince you of its greatness.

Its nice to see someone back up his opinion with some facts...

Most people prefer the version they started with...

I really adore 3.0/3.5 because of the multi classing freedom.  We play with simplifeid combat options, just to concentrate on the roleplaying more.

For after release there are shard wars planned. Where the five houses fight for ownership of a shard(s) Not much is known about this yet, but it has been tested in very early beta.

I hope this will feel like the DAoC RvR.

Biggest problem for the developers is that they need to ty this intoo the epic lore..

-------------------------------------

There are also some quests tight intoo the PvP

The game has allready been pushed from an early 2007 release to an Q4 2007 release.

But... MMO developers have learned from the initial failure of EQ2 ,Vanguard, Horizons and a bunch of others where the game was released when it was not ready yet for release.  The success of WoW and of LOTRO depends on the fact of a flawless game experience from the start ((If you forget about the WoW networking/lag problems at release, they where due to externall factors tough))

A game ain't ready for release untill its done, you can't afford to repaor a broken game after release as after release you need to concentrate on new content.

I think Spellborn developers know this, and even their investors realise this by now.

You can forget about that...its wishfull thinking...

There is still no US publisher knocking at spellborns doors. Sad but true.

Problem is... TCoS is crap.

Thats a bold statement , why don't you explain why it is crap?

Don't forget that the gameplay that AoC only promises can be found in "The chronicles of Spellborn"

It starts out mostly PvE, and i guess it will get more PvP untill they are ballanced at higher levels.

XP, or fame as they call it in TCoS, is mostly achieved by finishing quests.

I fully share your opinion.... I really hate how combat works in that game, but the beta was flawless

Actually that makes some people on the other side of the pool feel how we EU players normally feel.

But it is a sad thing indeed.

I never could have tought that War would be more popular then AoC, but then most AoC fans must have discovered by now that TCoS brings the gameplay that AoC only promises <smiles wickedly>

I keep doing that....spellbinder and spellborn, i keep mixing them up....Maybe they should change the name then, that would suit me just fine, and its even my favourite game.

Probably if you remove all cookies you will get the age question again, make sure not to lie about your age this time <smiles>

If its not the cooky but an IP thing, you can allways use your PC at work to sign up, or use a proxy server.

And honestly...  beleive me .... this is a hell of a game
