How is War PVP different from any other pvp ? You kill a player , is the end result., adding mechanics is just that adding, the end result one player wins on player loses, War's pvp is just as good as the next, and find that when you have a game with xcontent is basically PvP you won't find anything else then that content wise.

It is a bold move for this kind of game on but I doubt it will even dent WoW's numbers. 500k at launch , Blizzard can ban 500k and not feel it.

And this is why WoW does great to the millions of zombies out there playing it.

"I kilted a guy, me be pvping , why we need anything else.  PVP is jus fo kiltin people."

Unless War is full loot pvp and xp lose, it is not hardcore. Obtaining command of a area is seiging but that is just a fun mechnaic to a game. What is hardcore about out numbering  people ...One thing Ive heard nothing about in this game is the pve content.... something WoW has a good bit of...

Solareus, why are you trolling?  Go enjoy playing LOTRO and stop concerning yourself with a game you won't be playing.  If you haven't heard anything about PvE in WAR then you obviously have not been following the game.  There are tons of quests, the tome of knowledge (which is similar to deeds but oh so much more), public quests, tons of dungeons, and easter eggs hidden all over the place that give you rewards and XP for exploring.  It has everything LOTRO has and more.

You also said a few stupid things about PvP being pointless because you fight someone, one of you dies, and you do it again.  Well that PvE too genius.  You fight a mob, one of you dies, and you do it again.  It is even easier in PvE because you know exactly what the mob will do everytime since it is scripted.  A player can at least change its style or throw a curve ball at you from time to time.  NPCs are only as good the programmer and beyond that they never change once its in the game.

Think before you speak.

So many seem to be thinking in SWG terms when they talk about KotORO.  I see things like "will they have Jedi?" and it boggles my mind.  Do you honestly think, a game with KNIGHT OF THE OLD REPUBLIC will not have Jedi in it? Seriously people.  It will also be an action based MMO, it is not going to be a sandbox.  It will have alot of variety and exploration, no doubt, but it is not going to be an alternate reality.  In a post WoW world corporation see that the majority of people want fast gameplay, quick rewards, and flashy art styles.  They want to get into the action fast, get rewarded, and stand around showing off their gear.  Looks at the market, how many people play games like WoW as opposed to games like EvE? Tons more, thats how many.  EvE has what? 250k subs? Yah that sounds like the winning formula for making tons of money!

If you think that EA/Bioware/LA is going to be making a game for the "fans" you are wrong.  They will be making a game with broad appeal to attract all of their fans, not the hardcore elitists who live in a fantasy world.  Expect to see the iconis classes and powerful action based abilities.  You will see Jedi, Dark Jedi, Sith, Bounty Hunters, and anyone else with flashy attacks.  You will not see any serious effort to make a bunch of crafters, dancers, or musicians.  Thats not Biowares style and it isn't what the market is telling them people want.  Lucas Arts wants to make a blockbuster game, they want Star Wars back in the spotlight.  They have seen over time that the games people buy and enjoy are the ones where you get to play a Jedi.  Thats all there is too it.  People want to have lightsabers and force powers. They do not want to sit in a house all day and make blaster pistols.

Keep on thinking about all the rediculous ideas because you were screwed over in SWG and you feel you are "owed" a game to replace SWG.  You will not get it.  That ship has sailed.  These companies want to make a great game for as many people as possible.  Since the only thing to determine a games greatness is it sales, thats what they will try for.  EA/Bioware/LA are not a group of idealist trying to prove something and make an artistic game that will be appreciated by a minority but applauded for its uniqueness.  They want money, they want success, and they want to have a name brand MMO.

I suggest you take your high hopes and your dream, tuck them away, and never think of them again.  You will not be getting a sandbox game of anykind from a major gaming company.  The market numbers are just not there.  I know some one is going to say "well I like making pistols, or dancing around, or building houses"  thats fine, more power to yah. Big gaming companies don't care about your novelty ideas, they want a franchise.  The sooner you get your head out of the clouds the better.  Please flame me if I crushed your dreams or your refuse to see reality.  It will not change the fact that KotORO will play nothing like SWG.

No, No, No, and me too.

They will have a Guild Tavern, in which anyone in a guild can use, with an upstairs room that only Guild Leaders can enter, for negotiating alliances.  That was the last thing I heard about guild buildings.

Here is the break down, feel free to correct me if you have a link.

You can pve all the way to the level cap.  You can pvp all the way to the level cap.  The fastest way to level is to mix the two.

All Tiers have designated PvE and PvP areas.  In Tier 1 it is 80% pve and 20% pvp, Tier 2 is 60% pve and 40% pvp, Tier 3 is 40% pve and 60% pvp, and Tier 4 is 20% pve and 80% pve.

All pve instances are 6 man with the exception of the King battle durring city sieges which are 24 man.  PvP ranges from 12-72 depending on the instance.

Take a fresh fifty dollar bill, go outside, and light it on fire.  Then at the end of each month take fifteen dollars and light it on fire as well.  That is a much more enjoyable way to spend your money than playing AoC.

Compare this with arena fights and it's a day/night time difference.

PVP is not standing still for 20 seconds and do ONE arm movement every 3 seconds.

It's PvP for grandpa's.

Glad to hear you wont be playing WAR.  I wouldn't want to taint the game with a dumbass such as yourself.

Just watched the third video, again, and the first kill I seen:

The guy was being chased by 4ish people, most with white lions, they kill the guy and the character bent over, wobbled for a second or two, and fell to the ground.

Also, the animations for fighting were like any other MMO, didn't look "slow" or out of the ordinary.  This is the most up to date video footage, so any other videos not from E3 I'd not recommend using to judge anything.

Just what I wanted to say:

'the animations for fighting were like any other MMO..."

But not like Wow... far from it.

I am conviced this is the reason why it is still number one, the "any other MMO" just fall WAY too short.

So you are saying that WoW has awesome combat animations?  You obviously have not been paying attention.  You want to know how many different combat animations there are?  Well lets see, you have 2 auto attack animations, 1 offensive melee special attack animation, 1 defensive melee special attack animation, 1 offensive casting animation, and one defensive casting animation.  Thats it.  Don't believe me?  Go play again and count them.  All they do is change out the colors for the partical effects.  Get over it, WoW is not a brilliant little snowflake.  It is a copy of all the other games that come out, it just steal the ideas and dumbs them down so the average retard can play it without feeling stupid.

Hate to break it to you but warhammer is not really an evolution or even an advancement in MMO games.  Its just another partially finished game that is being released so as not to compete with the monster on the block. From a business standpoint there its good practice. From a consumer standpoint its bad for us.

AoC did the exact same thing, they went after the short term money, had a window that they could fit into and not have compition for a half baked game.

The content removal quite simply is EA's decision to not compete with the wow expansion, and try to suck up some sales. They really need another 4-6 months in development time, as the game needs alot of work at this point. Sadly it does not appear that WAR is going to get that badly needed time and monatary investment, which will create huge issues for the game 4-5 months after release.

The pattern has been repeated for most MMO's since WoW, and honestly most mmos are following the access to everyone design, which requires alot of content to prolong the games life for many.  There has yet to be one MMO release that really did what i would consider good, and probalby LOTRO was the best of the bunch, and look at the issues it has.

Whats really amusing is we gamers fall for it everytime, we all rush to defend these types of actions, then after the game releases, and we spend our hard earned money, everyone starts complaining about everythihng that isnt complete. Having seen the game frankly im not impressed at all in its current state. Hopefully they will get it together, but 2 months isnt enough time to do much, it just isnt.  If they release in september we will end up with another short term MMO that just caters to instant gratification, and has no depth.

Hate to break it to you but you weren't around for WoWs launch so shut the hell up and stop acting like you know how to make a game because you play WoW.  Jackass.

I think Bioware is into a world of hurt now. If they think that an mmo with levels, classes, raids, wow gameplay like they said they love, will leave people happy they have bought the wrong IP.

There are tons of disgruntled SWG players who will take aim at this mmo if it is yet another non-sandbox, level based linear crap game with no real pvp.

There are tons of those in development anyways..

This is going to be a very hard IP to handle for Bioware and not the easy cash cow they might dream off.

I know I personally will be giving them a tough time if they make a polished version of POST cu/nge SWG and push it to the market.... And I doubt I am alone.

heads up BIOWARE... don't try to spoon feed us with wow gameplay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL

Get over yourself you big baby.  No one gives a crap about a few thousand Star Wars dorks who take the franchise way to seriously.  No one cares that you want to live inside the star wars universe.  Grow up and realize that these are just games.  Bioware is not SOE, they had no part in the NGE.  You will get the game they want to make and if you dont like it tough shit.

Pre-cu is DEAD, move on already.

Promises of beta contests and giveaways have all been BS, with no winners named or end in sight.

Pre-orders nation-wide are being mis-handled and people are not getting their codes, and never will due to misunderstandings with the distributors.

Is this game in a complete meltdown?  I really don't know how they will release a balanced and functional game with so many necessary classes missing.  Ebay is selling preorders for a ton from people who were scammed by bestbuy or gamestop... all of this slop makes me think the launch will be a disaster!!  Reminds me of Vanguard.

So basically you don't plan to play WAR and you want other people to agree with you so that you feel you are making a good choice?  That is basically what you are looking for isnt it?

Your agenda is so obvious it makes me laugh.

and thus WAR becomes more and more like AoC technically, at least in the what was promised and the what might or might not make it in by release point.

There is a difference and you know it, unless you are really that stupid.  Lets see, as it has been said before, Mythic said this while the game is still in closed beta.  Where as AoC they said nothing until after launch.  Huge difference.   Plus the reasoning is different as well.  AoC is missing stuff because they never put it in and rushed it out the door.  WAR is doing it for balancing issues and to see how sieges work before they oversaturate the game and small problems become huge ones.

What level is your nerd rage at?  With the current state of MMO's in general and all the recent news.  The top being the least rage and the lowest being the most rage.

LotRO is a good game.  The pace is slower than WoW.  It focuses more on story and exploration than combat.  The landscapes are great and the community is even better.  I play on Landroval, the unoffciial RP server, and the population is solid.  Easy to get group quests done, you run into plenty of people out in the world, and Bree is always busy. If you enjoying RPing then that adds a whole new layer of fun to the game and this game really lends itself to RP.

That said, I am playing LotRO until WAR comes out.   LotRO is fun, but it is not something I plan to play for years.

I always wonder why non elites want to try and join  up with the elites... cuz then that makes us not elite.
In daoc we had this Thane (part melee, with a shield and aoe magic spells so wasnt good at anything) try to join my group CONSTANTLY. He kept talking about how good he was and how much skill if we would just let him in.  I told him once I would let him run with us, he just needed to recped to 2handed weapon and kill casters insted of  trying to be a wanna be tank... he refused. Wrong class and wrong spec but wants to run with the elites? ya I don tthink so.

After the announcement yesterday the demand for perfect groups is going to be higher. Now you have 4 lesss melee tanks in the game. This finalizes my decision to play order.
My guild mates are going to play swordmasters of Hoeth and they are just going to have to like it since there is no hammerer.

2 runepriest, 3 2handed swordmasters of Hoeth and 1 Ironbreaker wit a shield, with the alternate person playing a runepriest or an arch mage. Elves and dwarves in my group only.

No tanking with 2 handers, no nukers, no aoe, and no hybrids. we'll see you on the battlefield.

Hammerers and Choppas were not tanks.  Black Guard and KotB were.  Get your facts straight.  They didnt cut 4 tanking classes, just 2.

Go back to the store or website and get a refund.  Stop acting like Mythic owes you something because you are disapointed.  You can be as upset as you want, you can come up with whatever reason you want, it means nothing.  All they owe you is your money back, so go to the store/site and get it back.

They do not need to make changes for you, they do not need to ask your opinion, they do not need to appologize to you, they do not need to do a damn thing accept give you your money back.

So stop comming up with your retarded posts about all the "lies" and "unfullfilled promises" garbage.  Go get your money back or shut up and enjoy the game.  You fools can't see the forest through all the trees.

Seriously?

WoW shipped with all of its fucking citys.  I dunno about you but id be pretty pissed if on WoW's launch day, i created a tauren and started in the same city as undead.  Having no real home, zone, or realm to relate my race to.

I mean no shit WoW has released more content with each patch.  Its a god damned mmo.  Would be a pretty stagnant game if they didn't release new content eh?  The point is that this was planned **LAUNCH** content (which is a huge part of forming the setting of the game mind you)  from the beginning of the dev process for this title.  One of the FIRST videos shown discribing RvR where the Dwarf/Greenskin realms.  You can't honestly compare WoW releasing "The Black Temple" and "Illidan Stormrage" later on in the games lifespan, to cutting a starting realm or a class that had been annouced from the beginning.  It's bullshit.  Their content isn't ready and they think that if they release after WoTLK, its game over for the franchise.

On another note.. If i was Games Workshop id be fucking pissed right now.  This has to infringe on the Lore. They haven't even pulled the content to be removed from their website.

First off all races have their own starting areas and complete zones minus the capital cities so you regurgitated gibber is wasted.

Think a bit on your statement.  WoW had Darnassus, Ironforge, Stormwind, Thunderbluff, Orgrimmar, and the Undercity at launch.  What about gnomes and trolls?  Oh yeah they came up with a half assed excuse because they added those races in at the end and didn't have the time to make their own cities, even almost 4 years later, no hoome cities for trolls and gnomes.

Next at launch no one ever did a damn thing past starting quests and quick pass throughs in Darnassus, Stormwind, Thunderbluff, or the Undercity.  They were pointless, had no Auction houses, and they were barren wastelands.  You may go there to train once in a while because it is close, but everyone hung out in Orgrimmar and Ironforge.

So you would rather have game designers release cities that are hallow, pointless, and useless just so you can say "they are there!" instead of actually making cities that are worth a damn?  That is what you are saying right?  Not one city in WoW can shine a candle at what Altdorf and the Innevitable City have to offer.  Quality is better than quantity.  Unless you are just another mindless sheep.  If so enjoy drinking the WoW kool-aid.

The interesting thing is that how much Mythic is going to charge a month for less content at release and I wonder if they are going to make people pay for things that should have been at release. Interesting....

Is your head full of cheese?  Why would they alter their monthly fee?  No one has bought the game, they are changing these feature before release.  You do not have to buy it genius.  If you don't like it, don't play it.  If you buy the game you are paying for what is in the box, not what you feel you deserve.  If you do not like what you get, don't subscribe.

Seriously, all you fools out there, take a moment and think about shit for a few minutes before you act like anyone in the world owes you a damn thing.  They can promise whatever they want and they can deliver nothing if they want.  If you choose to buy it do not cry later on because you changed you mind.
