I also played at launch and then again at Christams last year and both times I left very dissapointed in the preformance and the bugs, some bugs were pretty game breaking,I came back just over a week ago and I am having a blast, the game plays and feels so much better now and as before looks great, the chat channels can be quite chatty(at least on Halgar)very friendly bunch and no childish antics thus far,I have yet to see 1 gold spammer in chat that could be down to the fact the subs went down the toilet last year*shrug* who knows and who cares they arent here as of yet. I would reccomend VG to players but I think with the game you need a guild as the world is huge and can feel quite lonely at times and also you will need help not just in quests but for crafting etc. New mmo player's may be overwelmed at the start but there is help at hand from the player's who seem to be only to happy helping other's so stick with it as you will find some pleasure in this game. Also I wrote a post about my 1st week back at Vg as the days progressed you can find the post here... http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/185670

Yep I have had no such problems in the game with crashes etc,I do have a tip for you m8 and this 1 will improve the graphics with no cost to preformance or crashes, when you log in do /setfog 100000 and then enter it really does improve it and you will notice a difference,If you were to say what you were looking for in a class then some ppl will advise,I am really enjoying my shammy,he solo's well and is also good in groups but be warned he can take alot of work on multiple mobs but then you are always busy, which I enjoy :) All the best in game and hope you continue to enjoy :) |

M8 I think I have the game to fit almost all your needs on the list....Real life! Honest m8 you seem to be asking for a real life in that list,I cant honestly think of 1 mmo that would cover what you need so maybe give that a go :) |

Yep sings bang on,I did follow this game for about 3 years like a blind man, never seen any ingame footage but believed the hype,I guess I just believed in a game that I wanted to play,I know rome wasnt built in a day but it was built in a shorter time than darkfall and by the time darkfall releases(if ever) I am guessing Rome was built and burnt to the ground in a shorter time |

Id wager that each AoC Instance has more people than 3 or 4 VG "chunks" combined. So I still dont see the validity of the statement
I aint here to argue on who has the biggest,I am simply saying your orginal quote was wrong..Vg is an open mmo where as AoC has set amounts to its zones so is not as you put it "way more massively multiplayer"It does have a bigger population but that is 2 different things. |

Yep they have indeed been very quiet even on the offical forums,I am not sure what to make of this like you said we heard of the publisher back in April but still no word on who it is,or indeed if it has went through or if they are still interested, all of this does have me worried abit and for a game that "should" release in the next few months you would want to be hearing the right noises by now. Anyway I have found a mmo to keep me busy and will continue to keep an eye on this game and hope for the best. |

Ok this will be the last post as I am sure you guys get the idea by now. I have played alot in the last 4-5 days(holiday)and I must say I am really really impressed, this game has moved along alot,I am now level 23 shammy and having a great time and still there really is that much to do... Quest wise, well I dare anyone to come up with better than some of the writting in this game,Like alot of players at times I will just accept the quest and go do it but here I really do read the quest and follow it,sometimes it really is worth it as it gives you a good laugh or other times it will at least interest you. Class wise,Well I have said before If you cant find a class to suit you in VG than fantasy MMO's aint your thing. I could go on like this but will basically go to the good and the bad.. The good,ok some of it is listed above but also this is maybe not an out an out sandbox title but it is damned close, build your own house and boat, quest where you want too(no having to spend hours in an area you dont like),If you see it you can pretty much reach it ,great community that is now building,Last year when I played this game was like a Sunday in my house with the wife after I stayed out all night(i.e no talking)But now it is so much better,ok alot of the time it is ppl asking question but so what? There are also times where the chat just goes on after that and is great to see there is a community and not 1 time have I seen any child like antics going on. The bad,yep this game aint perfect there are still some bugs,I got got stuck 1 time which aint bad but it stil annoys I guess,I used /flush twice as buildings dissapeared, tbh no big deal there.I guess the biggest problem for me is..yep you guessed it is SOE support,I filled out 1 petition and it almost seemed like a job application form, you get through a few different options just to be handed a big form that all fields have to filled out instead of a simple /petition,almost like they were going out there way to put you off it and maybe they were. Too sum up VG is alot better than it was and that is for sure but be warned off 2 things if you want to play this game.. 1.This isnt a new mmo player friendly game, you will need help to get the most out of it,I suggest joining a guild A.S.A.P,even for more experienced mmo players this wouldnt be a bad thing as the world is huge and so many things to learn and places to find. 2.The game isnt 100% finished(which mmo is)so be prepared to find a couple of bugs or *ahh come on ffs* moments. maybe I could add a 3rd in the population but I wont as it seems to be as busy now in chat etc as it ever has been. If you can take these problems and are looking for a mmo in these dark times then I would highly reccomend VG,for me it beats what else is out there hands down. |

It might,It would depend how well it was written and also how clear it was,we have a forum to help ppl when they have questions about computers and it seems to work quite well,as in someone doesnt know about psu's they will post and get a direct answer, that does work well but if you could make a very well written and detailed post it would ofc be of use. |

Your video card will hold you back, you really need a 8800 or above to enjoy the graphics to the full or a 8600 to run it smoothly but tbh they are messing around so much with the patche's no-one can really say how it will end up with your card but I would imagine on the lower side. |
