You asume people that got bored with Aion go play TCoS. The reality is, people who like the game, go play it. If you like TCoS, why would you play Aion? Only because it is a big name?

I am sorry for this misunderstanding.

I was saying that the Beta causes games to delay. They find troubles that the QA / dev team didnt see.

And delaying a whole year? I know I don't have the slightes proof, but it happens to most MMO's. Why not to ER? It's only just 3 years in development.

I never played WoW. Only EvE online.

I just got pissed of that closed minded attitude. It also gives your community a bad name.

Yes I agree on you there are a few people that only see full loot or full pvp.  But that is just because a lot of people have not really read about it.  But you have done an excellent job on gathering all the information and putting it in one place. 

 

Yeah, fixed my wording a bit. Masthead certainly thinks they can make the dates because they were asked in a recent house of commons if there were any plans to push back the beta/release, and they said no and that they were on schedule. I also wish they'd release a video, because like you mentioned, a lot of people don't think it'll come out until they see a video.

I hope you're right about the beta date being released, I'd hate to see the game die because it just didn't have enough press. Thanks for the compliment with the info, but that isn't anywhere near all of it! Just some of the more commonly asked stuff. :)

I don't know where I read this, but Beta is causing alot of delay. Bug fixing takes alot of time. I mean, I can model + skin and animate 1 character a day. And I am a total noob in it. But to have it working ingame is something totaly different.

So I am pretty sure they won't make 2009. Which isn't bad ofcourse. It is boring the waiting, but good games are better then fast games.

He probaly hasn't played the game.

BUT..

It is Horizonz, the all-knowing-forum-guy from the Earthrise forum. He probaly  knows alot of the game.. more then every other noob who is yelling Anarchy Online.

Although I agree with him about everyone judging the game before they played it, I can say the same about him.

People are dummies, because they are more dummier then others. So WoW is for the average Joe. Nothing wrong with it.

What happend to Sandbox MMO's? Well its called EvE online, and people find it to hard because it is sandbox right from the start. No hand helding. Thats where stuff went wrong. The game is fun from the beginning, as long as you don't try to understand everything.

But if you got banned again for violating the EULA ( foul language is also in the EULA ) you might want to work on your language. Not to be rude, I know how you are feeling :)

Well, I had the same problem, but I found a solution.

You go to the Channels tab to your left, and go join the Corp recruitement channel. There are ALOT of corps looking for new players, in which you can join.

Makes live ALOT easier:P

If they have enough content and polish, it will be a hit.

If they run out of funds though.. they need to market it smart, so it still can be a succes.

Well, I do think it has.

Why? Since AoC is sort of disapointing (never liked it) alot of people are looking into other mmorpgs, and some stumble upon Vanguard. I think its a great game ( got a buddy key today, going to try it later) from what I read on these forums.

Sure there is alot of bashing, but you can straight look through it. I think this game has future. Its starting to grow. And with the fact that they survived 1 year with ALOT of people only saying bad stuff, says alot.

And there are patches with new content if I am looking at the patchnotes in a good way. If I am correct they implent new racial mounts next patch for example.

AoC's only going to impact on it if the pvp turns out to be stellar. Like many I'm still searching for the perfect pvp MMO - but I'm thinking it would be easier to find the holy grail.

Well, if PvP is what you are looking for AoC might be your best bet. From what devs have been stating about TCoS it will probably not be marketed as a PvP game, while AoC seems to be all about PvP. The only thing that contradicts this is the combat system of TCoS that seems to be ideal for PvP purposes.

 

AoC endgame is mostly about Raiding. In this aspect you can look at WoW. Almost the same balance in raiding / pvp ratio and gear. WAR is almost 90% PvP, but it got the oldskool combat system.

TCoS might turn in a good pvp game, when shard conquest is added. But thats post release.
