I don't think all "militia groups" are a joke at all.  It's what the government has tried to make the modern definition of the word out to be that has tainted it.

I consider the Libertarian Party to be a type of militia group.  They are a party that is pro-gun, anti-government.  They are not for violence or anarchy however.  They are for Constitutional rights.  This, to me, is a militia group in the historic sense.  A group of people that get together and realize the horrors of government growth on the individual.

A well armed militia is a good thing.

Hospitals in the US cannot turn people away if they need help.   Sorry.   If they do and or if they neglect to give care they get into huge trouble.   So basically everyone pretty much has healthcare here if they really, really need it.   Our system will work even better if the US government would get its paws off it.   We also need tort reform big time!  That is why it cost so much in the US for healthcare.   Doctors and hospitals need to purchase insurance that cost a ton of money.   It has increased so much over the last 20 years because everyone and their mother sues here in the US.   We need tort reform so that people cannot sue doctors and hospitals for millions and millions(most of which goes to lawyers BTW).

We would have it better if the US government would stop getting in our way.  No other countries have the environmental controls and red tape that we have and it is stagnating our industry.    I blame environmental lobbiest for this primarily.   One little snail is discovered and "It's endangered! We must save it!  Shut down the dams, no more ranches along shores of the rivers they live in.   We have to divert traffic away from the river or it might disrupt the snail habitate! Save the snail!"

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!  Go drown yourself.   ::shakes her head::  If I have to choose people over a snail...guess who I am going with!~

Medics / nurses / hospital staff should be kept accountable for their actions and mistakes, they chose the profession and they knew what it envolved.

And regarding environmentalists, and environment issues, your reply reminds me a coment of your good old G.W. , something along the lines of, " the solution for trees is cutting them down " , guess what, you cut the trees you don't have air.

The same applies to animal and plant species, the system has a hierarchy were some animal and plants depend on others for balance, hence the natural plague control that nature has, the same control that sometimes is unbalanced due to human action.

The reason why the US industry is running in slower pace isnt' because the environmentalists have it their way, its due to lack of vision and a mass consumption culture.

You can, and should, have nature and follow a more healthy way of life combined with progress and technology.

Our hospital staffs are not perfect and neither are yours.   So don't go there.   No...we can be good stewards of the land...trees are a renewable resource.   We cut them down and replant them.  I use to live the US northwest...we have been practicing that for years and it works.   No doubt some plants and animals depend on one another...but you have to know about the snail I am talking about before you make a judgement on my remarks.  Yes a snail become a huge problem for the state of Idaho.  OK.   And it cost the state and its people tons and tons of money - and it turned out that the environmentalist were wrong all along because the snail was found it streams all over the stinking state by Idaho Fish and Game!

That is a great Idea! Then the teacher will get shot on sight by the nut job that just robbed the bank and with the sole purpose to get human shield runs into a daycare. A nut job that is that "sick" so he will use kids as a human shield won't bother to see if the teacher(s) have a gun or not. He will assume it and also have that in mind.

 

Have you considered the training that a person goes through to attain a concealed handgun license here in the U.S.?  Part of that training is when and how to use the hand gun.  They don't just give you the license without first making sure you're capable of handling the gun emotionally and physically.

As far as assuming the teachers have guns...  that's one of the things that will deter him from entering the school in the first place. 

I'm all for individuals owning firearms..I own them myself.   However...will these teachers require psychological examination to see if they are mentally stable enough to have a loaded weapon in a class room?

Yea...and everyone elses governments are just so much better.   I do not think so.    You call it what you like...but it is still better than anything currently on the planet and hopefully someday the US populace will wake up and take back and inforce the document that originally founded this country - the Constitution of the United States.  I know that is not likely to happen since most Americans cannot find DC on a map let alone what state they live in.

If he thinks he can fix our government or at least just help a majoirty of americans - despite the tax increase - than I say go ahead. If you don't believe he can make things better, than at lest he is trying for change as opposed to keeping the government how it is right now. You said it yourself, it's corrupt. I rather try and fail than not try at all. Paying extra on taxes is worth it because it's highly impossible that he will significantly f*ck up in a way that will hurt us all. The worst scenario is that we lose some money that we could be spending on lame materialistic sh*t.

The main complaint by Obama fans (imo) is that McCain wont offer as much help for americans in need (especially the majority of people who really deserve help), and that he will abuse his powers as commander and cheif (war dictator).

Shut up about Obama...he is pretty much a Marxist and will try to force socialism down our throats.   You wish to pay his taxes...tell you what.   All you people that want Obama for president...you pay his taxes for us all.   How about that?   I mean you wish to create this wonderful welfare state and give free education, free medical, free whatever and all that is going to take lots of money.  So you people that want Obama so much...you pay the taxes for all of us.   Oh and how about this.   While you're at it since you don't mind paying higher prices for gas...we others get card that gives us our gas for free on your dollar!  How is that?!   I mean surely you can afford it.
