If you just click them once it sure looks like i took them with AA off but clicking them to their original size smooths out some of the edges. And to page. Yes it's possible to fiddle around with a lot of the graphical settings so you can play it on a pretty old rig and it still looks pretty ok even on low settings.
I will try later today to make a screenie where i'm on lowest settings possible and then the highest settings my PC can handle. |

Originally posted by page Yeah these are actual ingame screenshots. The fun thing is that not even one of them is DX10.They are all DX9 taken before the DX10 patch released in LOTRO. I have some cool DX10 screenshtos but i've sent them to a screenshotcontest so can't post them until i know if i won or not.

Originally posted by page How can you compare LOTRO graphics with WoWs? I have several hundred screenshots from LOTRO that shows it has nothing in common with WoW what so ever.As of now LOTRO has the best graphics out there in a mmorpg and it has one of the best engines that allows it to be run on fairly old systems. AOC looks good to but i have to wait and see if the graphicengine is just as good coded as LOTRO's. Let me find some of my older screenies from LOTRO and post them. Not all of them is taken on highest settings but it still kicks WoW's butt any day.Off course it all depends what graphicstyle you like.

Got a 50 Minstrel and 50 champion as some of my chars and my minstrel is better at soloing elites compared to my champion but my champion is better against several lower level mobs at one time. So i use my champ when i want to solo several mobs just to farm them but i use my minstrel if i'm out for specific elite mobs. Compared to a minstrel that is better at elites than a champion then a guardian is a LOT better against elites than minstrel/champion so it's all down to what kind of mobs people want to be able to solo. |

Well all classes can solo mobs a few levels over their own level but when it comes to elites some classes are better than other. Champions are good at cutting through a lot of lower level mobs in no time because of their AOE damage but even level elite mobs is a lot harder. Guardians are good at doing even levle elite mobs but takes time. They can do several normal monsters at the same time too but it will take time before they are downed. Minstrels can do elites and also is good at several normal mobs at the same time but again it will take time and will cost a lot of repairs. Loremasters are good at both things because of their crowdcontrol and good spelldps. Burglars are very good at single target DPS and can also take out numbers of mobs because of their stuns. Captains can do fairly well too doing both elites and small numbers of mobs. Hunters i'm not so familar with. They can do a lot of DPS at single targets but not so sure how they do against several monsters at the same time if jumped. |

Another flashback in from Everquest I when i played my wee barbarian shaman and went into everfrost for adventures.Ran around in the zone when someone suddenly yelled "FROST TRAIN TO HALAS!!" I was like??? seconds later i realized what happened when i saw a higher level character running with a frostgiant on his tail.I stood there with big eyes and didn't know what to do but decided to run. I ran like my life depended on it and it did because 10 seconds later i ran into aggro and panicked and ran back right into that giant and was flattened by the frost giants mace. I think Everquest had some of the best WHOAAAA experiences. It meant something to die when you lsot experience and had to fight your way back to your corpse.
I had a lot of good scares too in Ultima Online but that was because of the PK's when i was standing out in the wilds and minding my own business and mining or whatever and suddenly 6 guys comes running up to me and BOOM i found myself lying on the ground while they cut up my body and took all my belongings leaving a rune on my with some insults on it. Fun times. Later when i knew i was doing in UO i had some serious payback when my GM thief stole some of their priciest belonings. I still remember the day where i stole a towerdeed right in the middle of brittany bank desquised as a guard.I overheard 2 players talking about a trade and followed them around for 20 minutes and eventually i stole this guys towerdeed the second it landed it hes backpack. I ran like a madman out of britbank and non of them yelled guard until it was to later and i was gone.It was the longest two minutes in my life before i could stash my towerdeed in my bank. I bet that was a WHOA moment for the guy i stole the deed from
I miss those good UO and EQ days. |

I really don't care if they have adds ingame or not. They had it in Anarchy Online and it didn't bother me one bit and if i cared i could make them go away by going into the options and uncheck adds.Froobs still had to watch them though but that's just fair when they offered a lot in AO for free. Sometimes it was actually fun to run around in the towns to seee if there were new adds added on the billboards. |

Now almost a year later i'm growing a bit tired of it but that does not matter because i can just leave it on the PC and log in whenever i want without having to ever pay again except for the expansions. If Funcom maded a lifetime offer for AOC i would buy it in a second. |

I've been cutting thorugh 18 mmorpg's since i started with Ultima Online back in 97 or 98 and there is 2 monsters that comes to my mind. Everquest I: The Sharks. The first time i swam across that big lake in a zone with the big birds on the islands and i encountered a shark in the water and it attacked me i jumped like 10 feet. i guess Jaws had an effect on me after all since i saw it the first time when i was a wee little kid. Asherons Call I. The Olthois. Those alien lookalike beeings were not to mess with.Eeeek that olthoicave were a scary place.
Which monsters maded you jump several feet into the air?

Originally posted by AmazingAvery That is acutally one of my worst fears. Not in beta or anything but i fear that their graphicengine/servers Vs our Rigs/connection will be a totalt lagfest just like Dark Age of Camelot relic raids were back in the days. When having so many people on screen at once it takes some damn good coding to play without looking at screenshots. I'm a lifer in LOTRO and even in that game, which has the best graphicengine in all mmorpgs when it comes to quality VS playability on somewhat smaller PC,it lags quite a bit when there is a lot of players in the battlegrounds. I still think we have to wait many years before we can have a PVP siege mmorpg where a combat scene with several hundred players on screen can be done without a total lagfest. So far i have seen a lot of videos from AOC and also some of those not so legal on Youtube but i haven't seen a video with a LOT of players onscreen yet. Would love to see how the PvP siege battles worked out but i understand that has not been tested yet? |

It's up to Funcom to decide. If they feel the game is not ready for release so they risk another bad release then they should delay it until it's finished. If they feel the game is in a good enough shape, release in May but they should keep in mind that most people still have their AO's memories in the back of their head so most will likely not give Funcom a long leash. Funcom created a good mmorpg in AO but it took quite some time before it was polished enough to call a succes.A few expansions later it's actually a kickass game.Shadowlands and Alien invasion did so much for the coolnes factor of AO. People will not wait that long for AOC to become a succes so they better get it right at release. If they drop the ball everyone will move on quickly and Funcom will be in a bad shape. I hope they succeed, because they have brought some good ideas into the mmorg genre with AO or atleast improved on old ideas a bit. Instances, player missions,a ton of social clothing, implants, flying mount, playerstands,Alien points,TONS of backpack and bankspace, dynamic camps. I hope that AOC will bring a lot of new things into the mmorpg genre like AO did.I know not all the above was funcoms invention but it worked well in AO. Now Funcom where is my AOC Betainvitation for all those years i spent in AO?

Are we required to raid day in and day out in instances just like in WoW to get our hands on the best loot ingame or can crafting or hunting named mobs in the open world get you some of the best goods? In AO they had a lot of outdoors named mobs that dropped some nice items but they were always camped. What are they planning here in AOC? |

Can't find the video/article where i heard about it but i think they explained that there will be no autoface or any face commands in the game. Not good for mouseplayers that only use wasd for moventment and mouseclicks for everything else. |
