A cowboy MMO would be awesome.

City of Heroes/City of Villians is good and has a free 14 day trial going on.

The graphics have to atleast got to be decent.  Also I dont care how good the game I will not play a 2d game unless its from back in the day.  To be honest I think companies put too much effort into making the game look great and too little in actual game play.

I chose clones and insurance.  If you didnt have insurance though you should have to part out whats left of the destroyed mech and get a new one.  Maybe you could have a garage with other mechs you have bought or assembled from parts youve collected.  Im not sure if the context of the game would allow for garages but it would be fun.  I would hope it could be something like Armored Core concerning the mechs and parts for them.

I would like to see something in the horror genre not just zombies though.  What if there are vampires and werewolves also and if you get bit by one and dont get cured soon enough you are stuck permanently.  I dont think it should stop at vamps, werewolfs, and zombies though.  Lets throw in demons, wraiths, banshee's, and the all around monstorous freak of nature.  If you die you come back as a ghost for a short time and you can choose to become a demon or wraith or banshee.  If a witch or sorcerer casts a transformation spell on you then you become the hideous freak of nature kind of monster.  So there are your classes.  Zombie, vampire, werewolf, demon, wraith, banshee, monster, witch(warlock for male witches), and sorcerer.  Humans would of course be the witches and sorcerers but they could also be hunters of certain creatures specializing in the above mentioned classes.  Throw in priests for people who go that route in MMO's.  There you have it a good reason for PvP in an original MMO set in a medieval type world with swords, shields, and of course magic but not in the fantasy genre.  Last but not least only one race,  Human, but its what you can become thats the hook.

Everything I just said happened to me on multiple occasions.  I will never play EQ or any other fantasy MMO again.  I toy around with the idea from time to time but the memory of EQ leaves a bad taste in my mouth and every swords and shields game out there produces the same effect.

You would really like WoW. Warriors are junk in EQ1, the worst character class to play. WoW would shock you, a Warrior is gear dependant but can actually solo well and PvP very well! Give WoW a try, I played a Warrior in EQ1 and felt exactly like you until I switched to WoW. I hate SOE's stupid management  who have left Warrior as the turd class and are to dumb to fix the class, the most played class btw! WoW has Furor working for them, Warriors are the way EQ1 should have their warriors.

There have been times where I look at the boxes for WoW and Guild Wars when Im in target or wal mart and think "I know this will be fun".  Then I remember EQ and put the box back down.  I am going to level at least one character in CoX to 50 and see what the end game is like there before I buy either one of those.  If that doesnt turn out to be fun I might buy WoW or Guild Wars but like I said EQ ruined the genre for me so if I see EVE or another Sci Fi MMO my money will probably go there instead.

WoW will never die.  Too many people play the game and love it.  Its like all the people who still play EQ what is it 6 years later?  Now multiply that by 15x and you can get an idea of how many people will still be playing WoW in 4 or 5 years.  The original poster is right the game is good.  There have been plenty of people who have been burned by it but too many others think its the best thing since sliced bread.  Why arent they defending themselves in this forum you ask???   They are too busy playing WoW.  I dont play WoW because EQ ruined me for fantasy MMO's but I know a good thing when I see it and WoW is good.

I wont play a game thats not addictive.  Why you ask, because its probably not fun and I wont play a game that isnt fun.  I may play the game for a week or for a couple years it just depends on how long the addiction lasts.  Everything loses its luster after enough time has been spent with it.  Using the word addiction however has a dirty feel to it and most people are going to respond negatively to that word.  Exchange the word captivating for addictive and most people wont give it a second thought.

Everyone is talking about battleships what about carriers are there any carriers in the game?

As a rule I alway expect a game to be complete and total crap.  That way when its better than I expected I can be surprised its good.  So 2007 turned out to be better than I thought it would be so far.

City of Heroes/City of Villians = CoX

CoX is fun there is some grinding but you can do a lvl in a few hours np so its still fun and every lvl you either get enhancements or you get to choose a new power so you actually have something to look forward to every lvl.
