I agree, although the poker tour is a reality unto itself. Those people are as far from my reality as anyone living on Neptune.

Reality TV is a lot like Starbucks. It got really big really quick. They will shut down half of them in a year or two. I have to admit, I like Hell's Kitchen. I've also been a Survivor fanatic since the first season. Survivor isn't near as entertaining as it used to be -as a show, but I enjoy watching with the family so much that it's become habit.

EDIT: Dunno if anyone here watches "30 Days" on FX, but I really enjoy it as well, as would most forum warriors I believe.

I don't think pandora is available in Canada anymore.

Personally, I like songs that tell a story. Some of my favorite 'story' songs are:

Robert Earl Keen - The Road Goes on Forever and the Party Never Ends

Bob Dylan - Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts

Richard Thompson - Vincent Black Lightning 1952

Marshal Tucker Band - Fire on the Mountain

And, just because no play list is complete without it:

The Eagles - Last Resort

I'd also recommend loading up on Jackson Browne and Jimmy Buffet.

I'm in favor of reverting the changes. All the BoP should rollback prior to UD4.

I also read that all the faction grinds were reduced significantly. While the faction grinds kept my friends and I from pursuing some avenues, we liked that those items were reserved for players willing to go the distance. Everything in the game shouldn't be handed out just for showing up.

When will they stop giving without taking anything away?

I returned to Vanguard using the free month after many many months away, infact I don't  think I paid anything after my included month adter release.  Anyways I have played a few days and have been really enjoying myself, joined a guild, grouped with a few random people and been having a blast.

One thing that did happen is I had a small bug where I couldn't turn in a quest.  I petitioned this and had to log off for the evening.  Upon returning this had been corrected and two seperate messages left by GM's.  Friendly, professional, informative etc etc

If they keep this service up and management don't pull one of their stupid strokes then Vanguard actually stands a chance at turning it all around..

At least I believe so.

Just before I quit,  VG had the best CS of any game I've ever played, and they had quite a range of responsibilities. Whatever happens to the game, Moonlite and company will always be remembered, by me, as exceptional. It's just unfortunate that they had to work so hard.

Great stories. It's good to see people defend the country they cherish.

France bashing is fun. I'm glad they funded our revolution so we could form this great republic!

Stupid people make it out to be something it's not and then they move on and get spun up about some other quote that a 24 hour news show fed them out of context. This is not a major problem, although it is one that will arise on a weekly basis from now until November.

Where I take exception to the "100 year" quote is that McCain thinks we can actually stay there (peacefully) for 100 years. This is absolute nonsense. It does provide good strategic positioning for Iran though.

bomb, bomb, bomb.......bomb, bomb Iran

You might also consider this a 'non-issue', but again, I think a presidential nominee should not make jokes about bombing foreign nations -ANY foreign nations- especially ones which carry such friction.

Tact is a quality that McCain lacks by tremendous measure. Add poor judgment to that and you have a recipe for disaster. I am not willing to vote for a man who thinks antagonism and occupation are viable alternatives to diplomacy and presence.

Yes I did.  It is written in the Roe Vs Wade Opinion given by the Court in 1973.  That the third trimester begins at the 28th week but can be as early as the 24th week.   Read the opinion.   So the decision itself said 25 years ago that it can begin as early as the 24th week.

Since this is your thread, and you've started along this path, I'll hold the line:

kidshealth.org/parent/pregnancy_calendar/pregnancy_calendar_intro.html

Another common term you'll hear throughout your pregnancy is trimester. A pregnancy is divided into trimesters:

  • the first trimester is from week 1 to the end of week 12
  • the second trimester is from week 13 to the end of week 26
  • the third trimester is from week 27 to the end of the pregnancy

pregnancy.about.com/od/trimesterguide/Three_Trimester_Guide_to_Pregnancy.htm

First Trimester of Pregnancy: Weeks 1-12
The first trimester is the beginning of pregnancy. You will learn about pregnancy tests, morning sickness and prenatal care as your start your pregnancy off with a healthy beginning.
Second Trimester of Pregnancy: Weeks 13-26
The second trimester is often called the best time of pregnancy. Learn about prenatal testing like AFP screening, genetic testing, ultrasounds and more.
Third Trimester of Pregnancy: Weeks 27-42
The third trimester is the end of your pregnancy. Your thoughts turn to the upcoming birth of your baby and the postpartum period.

The First Trimester

The first pregnancy trimester is the stage of pregnancy from conception to 12 weeks. Hormonal changes cause frequent nausea, vomiting, increased fatigue and heightened emotional sensitivity. Food aversion and cravings, heartburn and indigestion, tender and swollen breasts, change in complexion, frequent urge to urinate, constipation, dizziness are all the 'gifts' of pregnancy. Changes in habits, like frequent but small meals, nutritive diet, no smoking or alcohol, light exercise, drinking plenty of water, and taking adequate rest will mitigate the problems of first trimester.

The Second Trimester

The second pregnancy trimester starts from the 13th week to the 28th week. Initial nausea and fatigue abates and the baby grows rapidly and shows movements; the umbilical cord thickens to carry oxygen and nourishment to the fetus. Light exercise, good personal hygiene, nutritive diet adds to the healthy growth of the baby at this stage.

The Third Trimester

This is the last trimester from the 28th week till the birth of the baby. The fetus continues to grow in size, bringing in changes in physical appearance. Deep breathing helps in providing good oxygen supply to the baby. Take adequate rest, diet and exercise, avoid carrying heavy weights and standing for long periods.

Third Trimester

Week 28

Mother:

Congratulations! You are now entering your third trimester…the home stretch!

These are just the top 4 sites that popped up on google when I searched 'pregnancy trimester'. After a little reading on each site, I have come to the conclusion that they are only pregnancy information sites and harbor no agenda or any political stance. It would appear that the 27th or 28th week is when the third trimester begins, according to people who specialize in pregnancy information.

There is far too much corruption in the criminal justice system to put people to death at the rate we do. That doesn't mean that there aren't crimes I think are worthy of the death penalty, just that I don't have enough faith in the system to be 100% sure that a guilty person is being executed every time. Then again, in cases such as Brian Nichols, where the exidence is overwhelming, the death penalty should have been used 3 years ago.

I guess I have mixed feelings about the death penalty, much like the OP does.

I oppose 'non-issue' politics as much as anyone, but I do not see this statement as a 'non-issue' personally. I think it says a lot about how McCain sees the middle east as no different than Asia or Europe. Anyone with extensive foreign relations experience would quickly disagree.

My major issues with Obama. I would love for an Obama supporter to take a look at each of these issues and explain to me why I should support Obama. I know I post a lot of “Republican” point of view topics but honestly I voted for Nader in 2000 and 2004 so my vote is pretty much an open vote. Maybe I have some of this stuff wrong or misunderstood.

  1. Obama is extremely pro-choice.
You will never see eye-to-eye with Obama on this issue. He is not courting your vote in this regard

  1. Obama supports raising taxes.
Obama believes that U.S. based corporations operating with shell companies and building operations overseas should pay higher taxes, while those building operations within the U.S. should receive tax incentives to do so.

  1. Obama supports gun control and increased bans on handgun ownership.
He thinks the states should handle this issue as they see fit. Obama does not believe in a federal gun ban.

  1. Obama supports universal Healthcare coverage regardless of ability to pay.
This is a moral obligation as a people. If you do not share this opinion, he is not courting your vote in this regard.

  1. Obama supports setting a timetable and leaving Iraq quickly.
Obama believes that our presence in Iraq causes as much havoc as it squelches. We have been there for 5 years, and very little political progress has been made. Our presence is not helping with what inevitably has to be done to grow a democracy in Iraq.

  1. Has a fairly unknown/cold opinion on Free trade.
Free trade will always have a place in America. Obama does not want the government to oversee every aspect of the free market. He simply wants regulations in areas that are in the interest of American's health and security.

Here's how simple and logical universal health care is to me:

A profit should not be made from the security and well being of society.

There, that's it, in a nutshell.

Health care should be afforded to every U.S. citizen for the same reasons police officers shouldn't charge per call and firefighters shouldn't bill you when your house catches ablaze. If you profit from these types of services, a large portion of the public doesn't have access to them, due to the bloated costs.

Did you watch the interview, Cabe?   The actual footage from "Face the Nation"?

 I didn't get to watch the entire interview . . . . .

Just to add some perspective and context:

securingamerica.com/node/2993

Bob Schieffer: Well you, you went so far as to say that you thought John McCain was, quote, and these are your words, "untested and untried," And I must say I, I had to read that twice, because you're talking about somebody who was a prisoner of war. He was a squadron commander of the largest squadron in the Navy. He's been on the Senate Armed Services Committee for lo these many years. How can you say that John McCain is un- untested and untried? General?

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: Because in the matters of national security policy making, it's a matter of understanding risk. It's a matter of gauging your opponents, and it's a matter of being held accountable. John McCain's never done any of that in his official positions. I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in Armed Forces as a prisoner of war. He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee, and he has traveled all over the world. But he hasn't held executive responsibility. That large squadron in Air- in the Navy that he commanded, it wasn't a wartime squadron. He hasn't been there and ordered the bombs to fall. He hasn't seen what it's like when diplomats come in and say, 'I don't know whether we're going to be able to get this point through or not. Do you want to take the risk? What about your reputation? How do we handle it-'

Bob Schieffer: Well-

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: ' -it publicly.' He hasn't made those calls, Bob.

Bob Schieffer: Well, well, General, maybe-

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: So-

Bob Schieffer: Could I just interrupt you. If-

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: Sure.

Bob Schieffer: I have to say, Barack Obama has not had any of those experiences either, nor has he ridden in a fighter plane and gotten shot down. I mean-

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: Well, I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be President.

Bob Schieffer: Really?!

People want to blow things all out of proportion. This is just more "non-issue" garbage.

Past generations were wise for their time. I find that increasingly fewer of those old world values pertain to modern life. Time continues to march forward and views continue to change along with that time. American culture is an evolution, people who stop evolving with it become frozen in time. These people are what I refer to as 'old white men', since they were traditionally the ones with all the power. They would like nothing more than for our culture to remain firmly planted in their heyday, but alas, the will of the people intercedes.

McCain's service is relative to what you're referencing. The man endured hell, and I personally wouldn't denigrate any part of his service. Of course, that's not what Wes Clark did. The quote you hear from Wes Clark was a response to a very specific question he was asked during an interview. Was it a bit harsh and framed in a non-political way? Yes. Is it true? In my opinion, yes.

As far as highlighting the difference between Obama and McCain, the lack of military experience doesn't harm Obama at all. Clinton (didn't serve) beat Bush I (served), Bush II (kinda served) beat Gore (served), Bush II (err
