you cant be hurt during fatalities bro. i prefer long fatalities because it gives more time to regen health and stamina.

you are wrong on this one.. as I  can see my health go down as im waiting to throw someone down and smash them..   ive experienced it.. and made sure before i posted this...   so dont tell me you cannot

Ok man im lvl 80 and have fatalitied many of times. I have one where i hit the guy, slash his chest when he falls to his knees, kick him over, put my foot on his chest, and dig my sword into his heart. This last a good 11 seconds and i just sit back and watch my health and stamina shoot up when i proc it. (my fatalities add a +150 stamina a sec buff for those of you who dont know)

Alright so i have a level 80 and a level 30, so here are my responses to your complaints

Here is a list of whats wrong:

PvP is mostly broken especially on PvE servers. Keeps dont work/cant be built, etc, etc, etc. The PvP servers are just gank fests with no risk/reward/penalty system in place.

PvP is not broken, its just that no one plays the minigames because there are no pvp rewards yet. Whooptydo WoW didnt have PvP for a year.

Crafting is totally broken, gems bugged, gathering bugged, quests bugged.

I have tier 3 gemcutting and tier 3 armorsmithing and havent run into any gathering bugs. The gemcutting bug is easily avoidable, just gotta know how to do it.

Classes are not balanced and the nerf bat is swinging wildly. Many classes have broken skills still.

Here, I agree with you. But then again, its been a month and they have already made some modifications. it aughta be pretty balanced within the next month or so.

The UI is the worst I have ever seen. It looks like an amateur created it at the last minute.

Uh... what is wrong with the UI? its perfectly fine and easy to use.

Itemization is a joke. Most people look identical and wear brown paper bags.

They didnt make this game all fantasy like as other MMOs have. They like realism, and running around in flaming armor and whatnot is kinda dumb.

Stats are broken for both characters and armor. They dont do anything. A lvl 80 piece of armor is only marginally better than a lvl 20.

No idea what youre talking about here. I did an epic kheshatta run (lvl 75-80 zone) last night for like 4 hours and boosted all my stats (attributes, resistances/immunities, DPS, armor, etc.) by quite a bit.

Graphics are buggy. So many clipping issues with armor and stuff its very sloppy looking.

Looks fine to me, beyond fine actually. Beats the cartoony asian MMOs any day. And they are continuely fixing the issues you speak off every week.

Dungeons are bugged.

Negative, Ive ran about 12 dungeons. Only thing clsoe to buggy I have come across was the fact that they havent filled one of them with mobs yet. Which im fine with since you can just do boss runs

Many quests are bugged.

On my road to 80 i came across 4 bugged quests, 2 have been fixed since i read in patch notes.

The last 3 patches has also really, really nerfed the FPS of the game. At release I was getting 50-60 fps in the open field zones and now I am down to about 20-30. Also, they have serious latency and lag issues with lag spikes up to 5 minutes! I dont know how many times I sat there and watched my toon die in combat to a mob 4 levels below me because my lag meter was in the red.

Get a better comp. I run on below recommended specs on high and get 40-50 fps. And the five minute lag spike you speak of is the instance shutting down due to lack of traffic or technical issue. which you just disconnect and relog.

Travel is a joke. Running is very slow and horses barely run faster than humans prompting most people travel by suicide to get across maps because there is no other option.

Again, they are goin for realism here. Sorry,  no griffons you can ride on or floating boats. And horses are a heck of a lot faster than running.

Customer Service is a joke and for the most part non-existent. Petitions take days to resolve and get deleted. There is hardly any GM support.

Its not to bad. I had an issue to deal with, my petition started 98th in line and they got to me in 90 minutes.

Gold Spammers are becoming rampant already. I have petitioned names and nothing is done. I still get tells and emails from people I reported a week ago.

Whats new?

Content is lacking the higher up you get. Quests thin out after level 50 and you are forced to grind to level up. (I am quitting at lvl 52).

Theyre adding a few zones for this soon. and grinding is not bad if you get in groups and AOE grind.

There are also so many display bugs. Inventory items "dissapear" .Items dont show up on the trader, Items dont have mouse over stats, half the time you dont know what your item is.etc, etc, etc.

Never came across any of this so i have no clue what youre talkin about. When you are on the verge of crashing sometimes you cant see the items stats, but theyre there.

In addition to all this, Funcom is for the most part non-responsive to any issues on their forums. And in the last week or so the moderators have come down hard, deleting any negative posts or moving them to obscure places on the site where nobody will read them.

I dont read funcom forums. They seem to be listening to customers though. theyre adding new zones, adding a "prison"like concept, etc.

Give the game a few months and it will be flawless.

Well I just watched your video and - OMG this is supposed to be the hyped up Age of Conan ??

1. This wasn't smooth at all. The fps were just barely tolarable even with your 8800GTX , not really choppy but far from enjoyable .

2. Where was everyone ?? The world looked so empty , just like a single player rpg o_O. I wouldn't want to see the performance on crowded places - if they really exist in AOC.

3. Even with the bad performance - the graphics didn't look that good , maybe just a tad better than WoW's but the player and npc models seemed dull and lifeless same with voice acting ...

And to think I was ever excited about this lame excuse of a mmorpg ..feels like dark and light all over but with shitty instancing and loading.

rip off.

first of all... 40 FPS is damn good for any game, it ran perfectly fine

second of all... it was the nighttime solo play mode. you do this to complete the destiny line of quests (i believe) with no interference

and third... are you freakin kidding me? AOCs graphics are immeasurably better than WoWs cartoons.

why does wow suck huh? well i could go on for hours and hours but i will make it short.

a) its by far the easiest game ive ever played, which is a bad thing because everyone is at the same skill lvl

b) due to a) being considered "good" is solely dependent on items and level. a lvl 70 can take a 65 any day, no matter what. which therefore means the best player has the most worthless life.

c) it is the most repetitive game i have ever played as well. not only in quests but in the combat. first of all the quests are all the same, ie. run really far and kill 20 of these. and combat is identical from lvl 1-70. my routine from 1-60 was: right click-press 3-2-1-sit back and watch. tens of thousands of times doing this same thing is not what i call fun.

d) ill hit on the combat system again. the combat system is border line turn based, anymore it would be pokemon for gameboy color. wheres the action? the excitement? you can fight monsters reclined in a chair with 1 finger.

e) community. due to the simplicity and concept (cartoony fantasy) the fans it attracts are untolerable (try going to the barrens)

f) the biggest fault (or money scam) of all is that the game isnt even fun(ish) until lvl 60, or now 70 i guess. it requires weeks-months of boring repetitive gameplay to even begin the game.

thats just my opinion. ill admit, i was addicted to WoW for a few weeks, but my last few days of play time was spent leaping from bed to bed in the inn at gadgetzan (talking with friends of course) because i didnt want to leave and begin a really long quest for 2% exp.

this is why i am so excited for age of conan. it seems a developer has finally decided to focus  on the  non WoW/EQ crowd. a crowd that enjoys more mature, fast paced, exciting games.

.... seriously? your main argument against WoW's difficulty is the time it requires... thats because its 100% item/level based. a blind preteen lvl 70 could take a college student at lvl 65. the end.. the game is retarded, requires no skill and no life. i would go as far to say that WoW is easier then pokemon yellow for the gameboy color, and less fun at that.

my routine to get to 60 when i played:

right click monster

press 3-wait a sec-press 2-wait a sec-press 1

sit back and watch and/or head downstairs to grab a drink

loot

...woah astonishing

im sorry but all you kids who are in favor of 24/7 vulnerability are the most worthless sonsofbitches ever.

seriously? you want to be forced to stand in your city, chattin it up with NPCs, and whackin off to your succubus for hours a week? and then you expect the rest of your guild to be on call 24/7?

us less worthless people around the globe have lives. these lives consist of school, jobs, sports, girls, etc. not all mmoers are like you guys.

tell me, whats more fun? losing your keep in 10 minutes in a small battle because 3/4 of your guild is asleep or having a life and then taking it back in 10 more minutes the next day, or having massive, epic battles of 100 or more people for control a few times a week?

9? seriously did they say that? there will be like 10 guilds attacking at once

Thats pretty much carebear stuff right there. Only a homo guild wouldnt have themselves open 24/7 to attack, as that is the most realistic and In-Character.

wow... some people are morons... having a window is MORE realistic . you see, the time frame hyboria represents would have keeps similar to your guild's, but in this real city would be hundreds of troops on watch at all times, its their job. so no matter when this city would be attacked, may it be noon or midnight, the city is ready to defend. so setting a time frame allows the city to set up a defense. waltzing in at 3am with no opponent is unrealistic.

dont make comments if you are so dam stupid

but yeah OP, just join a guild from the opposite coast or even europe. plus there will be probably about 50 (have they said?) battlekeeps to attack, so im sure there will be probably 5-15 vulnerable at all times.

let me see

50 dollars (not including tax)

minus 15 dollars (I paid quarterly)

35 dollars

So if I don't like AoC I just saved 35 dollars, I probably will like it though from what I've heard...but its worth it to try it before buying. I know level limit will let me not experience the game, but I can at least see how I like the classes and stuff and see some of the game.

well you see theres a problem with that statement... a beta is used for a developer to understand what is bad about their game. so you paid $15 to let funcom know what you dont like about the game, and when they finish fixing these problems,  you will already have canceled your pre-order having never experienced a more polished AoC.

As for me, i will not experience a mediocre AoC, i will play the almost finished, polished version and not try to pick it apart for yall have already done that for me, thanks guys.

ok, im headed off to college a few months after release and havent decided what to do about computers

i have a pretty powerful computer (decent in AOC terms) and i cant decide whether to slightly upgrade my desktop and buy a decent laptop (mainly for word, excel, college stuff) or leave the desktop as is and buy a really powerful laptop

so i guess my question is: what laptops (if any) could handle this beast of a game at medium-high quality, and would that run me more than a simple ibook + $400-600 of upgrades on my desktop?

paying to have a shot at playing a beta 3 weeks prior to release is ridiculous... the end

fileplanet is going to make a killing off of this ploy, mostly from all the kids whippin out daddy's credit card

wait 20 days and experience a finished product (well... finished, not polished)
