In a few months sales will die, subscriptions will cancel and then they will be worrying about how to keep people staying instead of holding their asses in the air proclaiming king of the sales chart.

Hasn't that been the basis of Bli$$ards promo for the last  three years 4 million subs, 6, 10 etc.

Get over it and hope that any game that offers something different in any way can have some success against the Bli$$ard monster.

Let them have their moment in the sun, it's likely that AoC has made it's developement costs back already which meams more new games for us all to play in the future maybe you'll like the next one.

This is great news I know that a lot of Aussies will be wrapped to hear this news.

Yes this means at least most of them will at least try out this game if it's any good at all it'll keep most of them.

There have been many threads on this issue on the WoW forums over the years and most Aussies are sick of the second rate treatment  in regard to the lag, I can see many leaving WoW as a result.

So someone saying they won't play because the game is censored... well that just seems silly...

Or they are maybe religious. But your right its a computer game after all, and the things you see aren't real!

And if they don't like that there is something in the game they don't have to buy it.

All the SOE hate will bring this game down no matter how good the game is, yes Soe burnt people but get over yourselves.

What chance does a small dev have if it can't get it's product out to a wider base?

The more you bag every game that has anything to with SOE/EA/Vivendi etc the smaller the pool of developers will get and that means less games and less people playing the later being something some of you seem to want.

Crying over the past in a waste of time, yes inform the community what has happened but take each game on its own merit.

Movies are usually a pale reflection of the original source material.

This is definately the case with the Harry Potter series.

As much fun as it is to see the characters come to life on the BIG screen the characters have been reinterpreted by the screen writer and then by the director and again by the actor.

Then time and money determine the amount of content that is included, often characters that have large amounts of time devoted to them in books but who's role is devoted to a subplot that provides depth and the sense of emersion have their roles in a movie minimalised or removed all together.

There is a reason the Potter books have such a huge following, they allow people to use their imagination.

As a MMORPG I don't know if it's possible to recreate the same sense of emersion, that said I think if the game is set in the greater wizarding world and is set 10-20yrs post the last book it would allow the makers alot of room in terms of storyline and expanded lore.

On a side note I'd love to see some other books bought into the MMO universe, like  David Eddings, The Elenium and The Tamuli series would lend themselves to this style of game.

As would many of the books of Raymond E Feist.

They both contain many races, factions etc men at arms, magic, the greater good and evil etc.

I see why they are worried about the nude content!

Maybe it will cause gamers to think about sex and porn?

Lucky that's never happened before.

These people that are worried about in game nude content still don't know what that intraweb thingy is, and think that the world is flat.

I will give this game a try, but it is far too close to a Wow clone than I would like.  When will developers understand that the rigid class model is NOT what people want, heck if I want that I can play Wow, EQ2, etc, etc.

Wow you must have done absolutely no research on the game if you think it's to much a WoW clone. it's nothing like WoW. Sure it's feats are laid out in a tree like WoW talents, WoW is hardly the first, or only MMOG to use a tree system for the feats/skills/talents/abilities. In fact, besides the layout and icons, it more resembles Anarchy Online's Perk system, then WoWs talent system.

Just because the game is class and level based, doesn't mean it's a WoW clone. Do some research, this game is about as far away from WoW as you can get for the most part. FAR more then it's direct competition.

There isn't to much out there that doesn't owe something to games that came before them.

That doesn't make them clones, they hopefully evolve into something better, this doesn't always flesh out but I don't think this game have gone out of it's way to be as close to WoW as it could be.

WoW owes as much to earlier games as any other game and managed to hit the market with what it didn't know it wanted.

That said for the near future everything will be judged against WoW for better or worse.

I still play WoW as I have many friends that play it but it isn't that much fun anymore which is kind of sad because it was a blast preXpac, hope the next Xpac improves things but I'm not hopeful but will welcome it if it is.

For those that think Warhammer is a copy of WoW, you do realise that Warhammer has been around in one form or another since 1983.

I really  want this game to be great and I'm happy to wait for it to become one before it is released.

If it comes out flawed in a fundamental way in terms of mechanics it will never have a chance.

I'm glad they are putting the quaility of the game over the quick buck.

It could work but to have broard appeal it would have to set in the wide wizarding world, if it was just based as a Hogwarts based game it would BLOW.
