Are we required to raid day in and day out in instances just like in WoW to get our hands on the best loot ingame or can crafting or hunting named mobs in the open world get you some of the best goods?

In AO they had a lot of outdoors named mobs that dropped some nice items but they were always camped. What are they planning here in AOC?

You basically have 4 activities in which to partake in an MMO.

Solo play- if you play an MMO to just solo play I pretty much hate you. It is an MMO and not meant for this. Yes sometimes you just wanna go and play alone but seriously to cater to your type of play is stupid and basically ruined WoW on alot of levels and any other MMO for that matter.

Raiders- Basically this can be split up to a couple sections but it basically is more then one person working together to accomplish something and should be half of what an MMO is about. These people can be seen as elitists and asshats but only becuase deep down inside you want what they are getting. They actually deserve the loot they get through all the time and effort to "learn" encounters and "kill" the baddies.

PVPers-This can easily be turned into a argument of who deserves loot and what not. I don't think people who just PvP should get loot for time spent simply pvping. I mean think about it...you dont get that "super leet sword of power" for simply trying to beat a boss over and over. You have to actually win for your efforts to be rewarded. Pretty much any game out now rewards PvPers for basically being "logged in."

Crafting/econfreak-Ppl that love to make items or make money in a MMO. Nothing wrong with this at all although they very rarely are catered to. Usually the items just arent worth a crap or are just toys. Although making lots of "gold" could be fun at some point what do you do with it?

From what I read AoC is the closest to catering to all these needs. It will have raid areas in which to get the "raiding" fix. It will have guild owned keeps in which the PvPers in a guild or just with friends can try to "defend" or "take".  It will have areas which will get better crafting supplies through raiding AND pvp areas with rich resources. I know crafters are on the fence but it can always be improved so I am hoping for ya. Solo play im not sure about but frankly, who cares. I am hoping this game cold bring alot of it together and make pvpers/raiders play nice or complete full out war =)

I just hope it doesnt turn into WoW and cater to every crying casual player that is upset they dont get the same gear somone who puts in hours of playing, planning and efforts for 1/4 the playing, planning and effort. Just becuase you pay the same $15 a month doesn't mean you deserve it all the same.

"clan war"?  What a joke.  Might as well be no pvp and let all of you who can't hack pvp blow away npc opponents over and over again into redundancy.  It would have to be the last MMO on the planet before I'd waste my money buying it alongside paying the 14.99 until actual pvp comes out.
Which is rare in most MMOs today.
Like most Sci-Fi mmos, they're destined to die.

If you want PVP content, play an FPS. Don't be a chicken and base your victory on 'l33t' loot. Be a man and win by skill, even if it's twitch.

This would actually make sense if there was PvE content to do at 50. But since all there is to do is "carbear PvP" your point fails. There are several ways one can play an MMO. Socially, logging on and talking to friends. Crafter, by making your character a good crafter and making a name for yourself for it. AHer, by using the "auction house" to buy low sell high or "farm." PvE by killing content over and over to get items and better equip your character and doing new content in the spirit to keep bettering your character. PvPing, by killing other players for fun or "points" and "rewards." This skill you talk about falls into each catagory however,  one could argue that consenting to PvP is not as skilled as a completely open PvP zone.

Biggest problem with people here is that although you are happy with this game atm most MMO players like to play with an accomplishment to show for time put in. Every MMO I choose to play I have been with for at least 3 years. EQ,DAoC then WoW have all kept my attention. All three have had actual content to do or grinds or ANYTHING OTHER THEN THE ONLY THING TO DO IN TR. That is kill bane....thats really it. After all the running and seeing the world all you do is fight harder and harder bane. Which would be fine if there was some kind of "end game" I mean anything, through us a bone. Now alot of you will say...

A) It was just released give them a break

B) OMG im happy with it now why are you worried about 6 months down the road.

C) If you dont like dont play and dont bother us.

All those answers are just desperation and pointless. I want TR to be good. I want to play this game and know that at 50 I won't be hoping clan C wants to fight my clan so we actually have something to do other then what we been doing since level 1. Why am I worried about 6 months from now? In 6 months most of all who play now will be 50 and when you run out of options and do the same thing over and over...well you will quit. I play MMO's on a pC because the games never really end. There is always something to do and when you have done it all then you can move on to the next game if you like but at least you got to play a game for a long time and got well worth your money. If I want a game that when I reach top level im pretty much going to be done I would stick to my Xbox. TR at its current state and even being as new as it is is in serious need of more content. I hope they deliver....

not that i take your post seriously, but i'll humour you anyhow, why exactly is tracking down your enemy and killing them anytime anywhere "a joke" when it comes to pvp?

When you only PvP becuase someone else basically agreed to it, then that is a joke.....carecbarestare!!!!!!!

When it comes to PvP =P

Let me start with the fact that I do infact enjoy playing this game so far.

This game looks great, although very demanding on you system, it is refreshing from most all other MMO's.  I dont feel like im going thru the motions at all. The quests are some of the best i've seen and taken part of. The actual gameplay is actually sweet. I love using the chain gun, I find my self shooting everything possible all the time. Armor looks pretty kickass. I LOVE that I dont have to "search" for bags like most other games. Leveling is a blast so far. However, this is wear I have some ?'s.

1.  I have not run into a single reason to group. I have done instanced areas solo although I know you get more mobs with a group. You level so fast it isn't really worth it. So other then seeing text about how cool WoW is and how TR is #1 and seeing others run around (you have to target them to tell if there a NPC/Player really) I can't really tell it is a MMO. It is crazy fun but not a real sense of roles that need to be played like needing a "tank" or a "healer" and "DPS." It is fine if TR is getting rid of all that but as a group it is nice fill a type of role.  My question is what role do ppl play in a group other then just another member of the group?

2. Leveling is actually fun and immersive. the quests are very good and I love the choices you get to make on some of them. Escorts aren't retarded becuase the NPC is so tired of being in one place they only walk slowly to get out, they actually run and keep up with you for the most part. The voice over is kickass. Seeing a NPC yell "BOOM, HEADSHOT" is awesome. The cutscenes to instances is cool and the instances themselves are great. TR got this part of the game spot on. What is there to do at 50? This really worries me and no one I know that is higher then 45 know other then the carebear PvP this game has. Yes, thats right asking a clan if they could please go to war with them is indeed care-effing-bear. As it stands right now the "endgame" is made by the players them selves which sounds cool but it isn't, because it is out of sheer boredom that alot of this pvp will come from. If the devs screw this game up and make no endgame either by PVE or PVP I will kill a baby seal.

3. Test Server....this is just a personal opinion, but does this worry anyone else? I understand this can be taken as the Devs just wanna test the games future but I cant help feel that this coupled with the fact that there are only 4 servers makes me wonder. Isn't it a little early to need a whole other server to "test" changes? If the changes are that drastic then doesn't that  make this game "not ready" for release?  Again, I like this game so the "OMG NOOB STOP FlamMING MY GAME" isn't really needed.

4. Cloning. I dont get. I level a guy and use attributes but if I dont like where I put them im screwed? I can clone but that only gives me a half respec? How important is the attributes? Why should I worry about health if I want more armor. If I go for high armor why should I care about regen or does it work for armor also? Why isnt this info readily availible without looking thru the internet fansites to get it? I like to put points into each skill just to see its effect. If I dont like one ability I need to use a clone to fix it? Kinda drastic.

I am currently playing a game that I enjoy. Once I get 50 I am going to want to be able to do somethign I could not do at lower levels. "Top level" should mean that you get to partake in events that at lower levels you can not. Since leveling or getting new skills is no longer a factor in playing at top level there should be something to do. I truly hope I am flat out wrong about level 50. For those of you who think I should just play and enjoy the game, I am but I also want to know that after I enjoy leveling and get to 50 something is going to make me wanna stay around instead of boxxing the game up like I do with "solo" games. Thats what those are for. MMO's are games that keep you playing and keep it like new and entertaining for some time. There isn't an end to the game. Clan wars is not enough to keep us all here talking in general about how lame WoW is and WaR will be or why we should all like Aoin or whatever.

Thnx for taking the time to read. Halfa Ounze  Orion
