The 'good ol days' where when you were level 60 and fighting in a level 20-30 zone... basically ganking anyone trying to quest there and occassionally fighting someone your own level.  But the majority of the time it was about ganking the people trying to quest, or killing  the quest givers.

So Blizzard added pvp objective in the lvl 60 zones... but alas.. that was 'terrible' ... I mean.. it was terrible because people questing there could actually put up a fight.   I mean how much fun can it be if you can't one-shot a player 40 levels lower than you.   What.... you expect me to kill players my own level?   What.. you expect me to walk around flagged for PvP and have someone attack me who might be able to kill me.

I also hate AV..  I mean.. how much fun can it possible by to have 40 people on the other side, who are... you know... the same level as me..... and... gasp... they are all actually wanting to pvp.   How in the world can I gank someone who is fighting a monster when there aren't any monsters for them to be fighting.

People like the OP don't want pvp.. they don't even want to fight anyone.. they want to trounce low level players.  If you want a real and fair fight, there are plenty of ways in the game to do it.   Battlegrounds,  Open world pvp objectives, Arenas, and soon Lake Wintergrasp.   Oh, I'm sorry.. those don't count because they all involve you fighting someone your own level, and someone who wants to pvp.  Sorry.... I guess cowards should try Hello Kitty Island Adventures

Yeah one of my biggest gripes with WoW was how you could create a character and get to level 20 without ever grouping, and actually people seemed like it was a bother to even help you out as it took from their questing.

In this game in the first minutes you will be thrown into large quests and doing events with a huge amount of other players and it just feels more like an MMO.

not insulting the game but is it a necesity to be in a group for these quests? if so, when the game is older and there are fewer and fewer low levels will it even be possible to level again? will it be a 5 hour lfg fest like it is with ff11?

WAR = SHORTCUT

Everything in it is a shortcut.

No decent PVE end raiding. 2 capitols instead of 6. No decent professions. No flying units. No open seamless world. No arena in a PvP game (!). No open world PvP (everything is instanced).

No decent fast PvP fights.

The only thing not shortcutted is the hyping.

Wow delivers without shortcuts.

LOL wow doesn't have shortcuts, what game do you play? You sit in Org and you can go to any pvp you want with one click.  And yes there is open world pvp in war good try though.  And for all the world pvp in wow defenders, you clearly understand nothing about world pvp.  Mabye a few times every few months (depending on the server), a few guilds get together and do world pvp in halaa for a little bit.  This is sad and cannot called world pvp.  And this is coming from a pvp player in wow, its what i do more then anything eles in wow.  I can't do the bgs anymore because I have been doing the same thing in there for years, and the changes only made them more of a mindless grind.  I can't tell you how many times I have seen wsg or ab over the past few years, and im not even a hardcore gamer.  Arenas, well they arn't my thing, but people seem to like them so grats.  But this was not something that a lot pvpers even care about that much, if it didn't give great gear, would you still do it?  Honestly wow offers very little for pvp and to those of you who can't understand that there are no options for us pvpers in wow then you need to look at the game a lot closer and see that pvpers get nothing (no new pvp content since tbc and since the bgs, nothing new before that besides the failed epl).  Thats right nothing new since the expansion, im sry but waiting almost 2 years for new pvp content is unexpetable.

Warhammer is not going to be your Holy Grail.

I've played Mythic games for more then a decade, and i can tell you that you will get bored of the battlegrounds in Warhammer as you have in WoW if you play them excessively for years.

The World PvP in Warhammer is not going to be like the golden days of DAoC. It will cater to a more focused, arena like, crowd.

It will start out awesome, but in six months the cream will rise to the top and the casuals won't like the world pvp anymore, and they'll turn to the instances. The World PvP will be the elite vs elite just like WoWs arenas. Except people will doubt the developers when they lose, They will complain to Mythic and about Mythic for bad balance, or blame competing guilds of using radar or whatever other excuses they can come up with that does not include their own lack of ability.

Warhammer is like DAoC, without the third realm, and focused on the Battlegrounds. But instanced instead of persistent like the old killajoe, molvik, lion's den, whatever....

so true, im suprised not as many people realize this but it is themselves to blame for boring situations ingame because they themselves have made it boring.

there have been blue posts about this, most classes will have some cosmetic type changes they can have, but druids (as shapeshifters of course) get the coolest ones

one cool one i heard was one that turns you into a red fox in cat form

red fox is the only one implemented.

I recently blogged this but felt it had an important message so i'm going to send it out pubstyle

Everyone knows gamers forums are for people to flame games because there is literally no knowledge of games being passed from one player to another other then that of

"zomg this game r teh winz, plez play with me!!"

or..

"Failcom"

But all that you see in regards to the negative posts are complains about grinds, or no endgame, or poor graphics or story line.. this is how that rolls out and my defense for EVERY SINGLE GAME THAT HAS EVER BEEN COMPLAINED ABOUT

Grinding experience or quests to reach max level.

--- Are you people serious? would you like to hit level (insert pointless number here) with no skill at all, bad gear, no knowledge of your roll in parties or pvp, or would you rather progress in a way that teaches you most of everything you need to know about a class

YOUR COMMENTS AGAINST MY DEFENSE: "well then why do we have to grind SO LONG, cant we just have a tutorial or shortened levels"

My defense which cannot be proven wrong in anyway shape or form: If levels are easy you use one skill that is spamable or auttoattack your way to max level, the quests give you something to do although in some games they are minimal and the grinding itself is a way to take you to different zones and learn about the game making you the person that isnt asking "who's harry potter?" after harry potter 17: return of the jibbly bunnies.

-------------------------------------

The game has no endgame.

--- Everygame has endgame wether you'd like to admit it or not, if a game doesnt have pve endgame, the game is meant to teach you to pvp, if there is no pve content in endgame and lackluster pvp, the game is not for you- leave now, if you dont like pvp and you arent willing to commit to raiding, you arent a hardcore gamer anyway so please stop complaining on forums to people that actually are: Endgame content is this in everygame wether it be pve or pvp or what have you:

MAKE YOUR CHARACTER BETTER THEN OTHER PEOPLE WITH YOUR CLASS

If you pve, you pve to get to the hardest content with the best gear that drops from the most challenging bosses, if you PVP your endgame is to be so good at your class that strategy is as simple as knowing to unzip before you miss the toilet seat for the 3rd time that day.

YOUR COMMENT AGAINST MY DEFENSE: "But what about games that have really short pve content and no pvp or what if i rolled on a server that doesnt allow random PK, and what if there is no PVP in the game and no PVE"

My defense which cannot be proven wrong in anyway shape or form:  If you want to pvp in endgame, play a pvp server, if the game doesnt offer it, dont play set game, if you wish to pve in endgame and the game doesnt have much content, dont play the game because it's obviously meant for casual gamers, if there is no pvp and no pve it is meant for 6 year olds that enjoy customizing more then gameplay.

-----------------------------------

Poor Graphics.

--- Not every game that is produced for the $10,000 rig you keep locked in your bedroom that only you can use due to fear of sibling death, if you dont like a games graphics find one with better graphics, if you like the gameplay and not the graphics, close your eyes while you play - not everything needs to make you soil yourself everytime you play the game.

YOUR COMMENT AGAINST MY DEFENSE: if you can honestly think of something against my comment, i'll praise you as long as it's logical, otherwise you're just being a troll.

------------------------------------

No Storyline, or very poorly done.

--- Lotro has the best storyline out there and is arguably one of the slowest most boring games out there, graphically amazing, no pvp content slow pve content, fun game - stories dont make games, the community and the way you play does, so dont blame a game for it's storyline because not everyone was typed up on jk rowlings (sp) toilet, give the developers a break, you say you want games every day but you complain when they come out missing peices from a story or a story that makes no sense.

YOUR COMMENT AGAINST MY DEFENSE: if you honestly care about a story.. go read a book

with all of that being ranted:

NOT EVERY GAME IS FOR YOU, NOT EVERYGAME WAS MADE IN YOU IN MIND, NOT EVERYONE PLAYS LIKE YOU, AND YOU ARENT THE ONLY GAMER OUT THERE

it'd probably be smart to leave your character name, what type of character, what kind of class you want to max out and the hours you play in which timezone.... but that's just a maybe

i didnt even make it to the first dungeon in this game before i uninstalled it, the graphics were too 2moons like with a really bright shadow, i dont know how to word it.. i cant even comment on the gameplay because i didnt really experience it but the graphics are terri-bad.

My only beef with funcom is that the game's graphics look terrible and yes i've seen videos and screenshots on full settings, but the requirements to run the game are insane, unless you've just recently payed for a new computer or you constantly upgrade your rig you cant even AFFORD to play the game outside of the monthly fees.. but from what i HAVE seen in the videos it looks very well done, kind of like... hmm... a slightly better version of Diablo 1 (graphics wise) with the pvp of Lineage 2..

yea because the 10 minute DP in WoW caused it's downfall a might quick right?

sorry if you havnt noticed, but no one likes being deeply penalized for death on a PVP game where people will be spam dying..

Yeah well just because Blizzard has a lot of money doesn't mean World of Warcraft is good. It just means alot of idiots pay for it. Which means that WoW's community is pretty shitty. Have you even logged in recently? Because I don't have to to tell you how bad the community is.

So I guess Blizzard's money earned from WoW subscribers is fueled by the masses of stupidity then huh?

Since i play WoW and you just insulted me I will edit your post in my favor. =)

Which means that WoW's community is pretty good since only idoits belive everything on the WoW forums. Have you even logged in recently? Because I don't have to to tell you how diverse the community is.
