Whilst you wait there is a game out called Roma Victor that has most of what Darfall offers in the way of no levels and the ways skills work.

The combat is twitch based and it is historically accurate so no spells.

I would recommend this game to would be Darkfall players as it has guild owned structures, full PvP, a bit of PvE and is a really atmospheric game once you get into it.

You will need someone to help you to start with though as the learning curve is steep.

If you are looking for a game that is like Darkfall in design then look no further. Do not expect great graphics or stability. Just take it as it is and you will love it, especially if you like the Roman age. It is set in Hadrians wall with Barbarians (northmen) vs the Romans. It is the most player based game since PlanetSide.

I had been away playing Age of Conan and then after doing yet another quest I finally said enough is enough of this shite excuse of a game, ok great graphics but no real PvP, no player skill, no sandbox.

So I came back to RV and I have been loving it. It has the fear of Eve in that if you get killed you hard won stuff is going to be looted and you lose some hard earned skills. The atmosphere is great when it is dark and you are hunting or being hunted by wolves.

All we need is more players, I see lots coming back. The new graphic backdrop is lovely as well.

This game will do me until Darkfall. Perhaps longer.

Try playing instead of listening to the players that have been banned and are hanging round the game like a bad smell, the Phillywilly or what ever he is called likes to spread bad stuff about this game.

Vanguard has very bad combat though. Very bad.  AT leaset AoC has some input ...

Dude your a wow player. Darkfall will NOT be for you and I wish I could badlt flame you here but the mods do not like it.

Ok if you get a blank screen, but can hear the sounds when you run AoC follow the following steps for a easy solution;

 

1.  Goto the folder when AoC is installed and run an application called, SimpleConfig.exe.

2.  Next under the 'Graphics' Tab  -  untick the full screen box and click OK at the bottom.

3.  Restart the game and you should find all is well, while in the game you can goto the settings and change it back to full screen and you should be ok from now on.

RedBedlam are quite fond of allowing banned players back into their game and acting "docile" to the fact that they're there. There's a guy who has been banned at least twice, and he's still running the money and calling the shots on the forum. How they can let that happen and stand by that is a mystery to me and also a great spark in my anger towards the game of late.

Yes the PvP  is very much improved.

I was playing on the Emerald server on Friday and there were 2 pop locks at the same time !!! Now that has not been seen for a very very long time.

If your a vet then I would strongly suggest you come back and see massive battles like we used to have in the early days.

Oh and don't be worrying about BFRs they are very nerfed and don't really change the gameplay much. They are more tank magnets than anything else :)
