I had a strong feeling of that. For most gamers, they do a long stretch of an MMO (2-4 years), and then they start to ween off of it as they get burned out looking for the next big game. As someone who has done this a few times already, I'm already off my old game, and filling my time with random games until the next MMO that I want to play is released. As for your past history, I don't think Vanguard (buggy game) or Guild Wars (decent, but not as good as others) gives you a "proper" background. By this, I mean something like EQ, DAoC, City of X, or something along those lines. Each of those games had something very interesting going for it. Out of the ones you've played, I would rate WoW as being the best, and I can understand why you would stick with it. Also, it's not terrible, but I just don't get the feeling you've actually had a big game transition before. You could be one of those more die-hard gamers, that sticks with a game until it dies off. As to the genre, there is only one key feature which is new, and that is the Tome of Knowledge. The rest of it is just remake and apply settings. As for getting tired of the genre, you're only real off shoot for an MMO would be a sci-fi based one, and as of now there's only two. EVE and Tabula Rasa would be what you have to pick from. They both have their highlights, but I personally didn't find either of them to be that enjoyable. EVE was a pain mostly for the fact it takes a while to get things started, and it's impossible to catch up to the long time gamers due to the game's skill system. TR wasn't bad, it just got very repetitive past level 30 when the experience noticeably slowed down. I personally don't care if it's Sci-fi or Fantasy, since I go more for an interesting story line and good game play over settings. The big thing which I feel you have to ask yourself is "What is keeping you with WoW, that you can't do else where?". From my time in WoW (Nov 04 to Oct 07), it was fun, but the game has hit it's dead end. It's just like it was pre-bc in the fact there is nothing new to do. 2.4 added some nice content, but that won't last that long, and it will become stagnant again. WoW is a decent game, but it's not new or fresh, and each thing they put out is much more of a crutch to help the game limp along until it's next big release, than something which adds enjoyment onto the game. |

Well, I don't know if they can say what they run or not, but I know most of the people I have talked to that are in beta run a system lower than mine. Mine's sitting at e6750 (overclocked to 3.2g), 8800gt (OC to 700/1750), 6 gigs of ram, with a vista 64b home premium. <--- Not in WAR beta, but I was in AoC beta. |

Personally, he chose music which was unfitting to both video samples. Although, the WAR one was more fitting. Not the choice I would have made, but it made it more entertaining. The AoC music made me bored. I play that kind of music when I'm killing people quickly, not spending 30 seconds standing in one spot beating on eachother hoping I win the fight by spamming the same 3 skills over and over. Also, the font used for the video was the same as AoC, which in addition I find to be very stupid. Thank you for helping prove how much I dislike AoC players. :-) |

Is WoW the only MMO you have played? I get the feeling it is. As for the whole "brings nothing new, so why do it" thinking, I just have a simple set of questions for you. Did you go to and pass the 1st grade? Did you go to and pass the 2nd grade? Why did you bother going to 2nd grade since it's just like first grade just slightly different? Did you go to and pass 3rd grade? Why did you bother going to 3rd grade since it's just 1st and 2nd grade over again, just slightly different? So on and so forth, since I'm sure you get the idea. As for your questions, you're asking for personal opinions, which you already have an opinion on. Are you unhappy with WoW and not wanting to quit? What is bringing you to a separate game forums if you are content and happy with your current game? 1) MMO's are about the journey. You allow yourself to experience another world and view the ideals of other people. I played wow for 2 1/2 years, and I also have many friends and level 70's. I also quit WoW due to there being nothing new to do. I am waiting on WAR to start the journey anew and go back to having fun. 2) The Tome of Knowledge is new to the genre, the rest of it has been used else where. Having a personal book about your character inside of a game, which is written for you and includes everything you've done and achieved is something new and nice. 3) WoW is the same as all the other games in that respect. They made up an IP (Warcraft), evolved it some, and then made it into an MMORPG (WoW). You liked WoW, so chances are you problem is not with the IP's, but more of the actual gameplay. 4) I think about half of the tabletop players will venture into WAR to at least experience it. I agree they are probably die-hard to their tabletop, but if you give someone the chance to see their dreams come true, how many want to say no? I personally know about 15 people who are Tabletop players who will be playing WAR full-time in addition to their tabletop play. Also, I would have bought war and played it back in 07 had it been released. |

I was beta testing AoC, but I'm so tired of it and all of the bad experiences that it is uninstalled. As of now, I'm back to playing Shattered Galaxy, and several single player games (Tomb Raider:Anniversary mostly, along with Rainbow Six Vegas 2. and I'm still working on finding all the flags in Assassin's Creed). Also, I spend some time on DOTA when I get incredibly bored with every thing. |

Considering the banner used at a press conference, the information given above, and the newest lore book which states that White Lions sometimes take white lion cubs and raise them as pets.... I'd have to agree that White Lion will be the H.E. melee dps class. |

The reason why the C2QX chips haven't dropped is because they have unlocked multipliers. Even if they aren't the top of the line, that alone still makes them worth a bit. (again, an overclocking thing) >.> |

As long as the board will support the latest ones, you would be okay. Although, I can promise you, we will see a lot of new things hit the market within the next year or so, and the older things will drop like rocks in prices. That's why I haven't bothered grabbing a C2Q. By the time my C2D actually needs upgrading, the C2QX (or even the next chip beyond that) will be quite a bit cheaper and still good. If you are familiar with 3DMarks06, here's a good example for you. My system (as it is clocked now), gets over 12k on the score. I can run Crysis and every other game out there at 30+ FPS. The naked eye can't really see faster than 25 FPS, so this works out great. There was a system submitted this month, that got a score of 35k. For some reason, the hardware is going into massive overkill, so over the next few years, we will hopefully see it slow up some so we can get some new designers actually using it. |
