I'll enjoy running around killing all of those "competitve adolescents" who chose destruction. |

I love how you lump "women" and "casual gamers" in the same area. It's an great sexist insult. As for the HD TV show, they already have quite a few, and they are doing well. Everyday the HD market grows. Now, if the rest of the TV shows would stop being lazy and upgrade to HD, we wouldn't have to be limited to 20 channels of HD and the rest normal TV. |

As I said before, $50 is the standard "new pc game" price. Most console games go for $60. |

That's fine, and I'm happy you're not. Personally, from some of the information you post on here, I would hate to see the game's direction change due to your style of thinking. My only problem with what I quoted was your obvious lack of numerical skills. The games will be sold at $50 at release for the game itself. Therefore, the extra money you spend is $30 over the 3 months, not the entire $80. Yes, the monthly fee will probably be around 15 a month, since that is the standard. Although, as for now, paying 30 dollars extra for 3 months of entertainment for a game you know for certain you're going to be playing, isn't too much. Plus, you get extra stuff in the box itself. |

Unless I'm mistaken, Ted Danson hasn't been the name of a sitcom character before. The name is mostly known for the actor Ted Danson who plays the roles of a character on many sitcoms, as well as many movies. Please give me a reference as to where there is a sitcom character named Ted Danson. I'm going to make a SW named Orlando Bloom, just to spite you. :-P |

Probably, although for us American fans, I'm not sure which site it would be best to pre-order from. :-/ Some sites don't ship it until the release date (which means waiting several extra days), while others ship it so you get it on the release date. You just have to try and find the best one. That is, of course, not including several sites which seem like they might offer it up for direct download upon release (which could be good or bad depending on bandwidth and customer's downloading it. Downloading the game a few days before release and then getting the code in an email would be ideal and has been done in the past). |

(Disclaimer: Long Post) Hello, Currently, I work nights at a rehabilitation center (physical rehabilitation) 36-56 hours a week(usually just 36). Most often, they are done in 12 hour shifts, which leaves me with 4 open nights (less if I work other days) a week. On my nights off, I usually game for a high majority of it. What I'm looking for is this:
As of right now, I am leaning more towards High Elf (hoping for a good melee dps), but I am willing to play either side of the elves. Also, there are a few non-elven characters which are appealing (but sorry Green-skins, not really much appeal there). The reason I am willing to play either side is this, I play often and I constantly max out characters to their highest rank/level. I also enjoy the different styles of gameplay, going from a melee to a ranged fighter, then over to a support through-out the night is fun. (Background/Personal Info) I have been playing games multiplayer style for the past 13 years. I am only 20 years old, but doom was so much fun, wasn't it? Anyways, I have a long list of FPS, RPG, and RTS games I've beaten over the years, and although it's fun to have beaten them all, the friendships I've had along the way were just as enjoyable as playing the game itself. As a result, it would be nice to setup a network of friends before the game is even out, to get to know the people I'm playing with a little bit better. I'm not a guild hopper, and I usually stay in a guild until it dies or merges on. Anyways, thank you for the reading of this post, and any information you have to help aid me in finding a guild I appreciate. Good luck to all, and stay safe. Edit: Currently I'm playing Guild Wars and F.E.A.R. combat, so if any guild meets the above things and plays either of those, let me know. :-) |

Again, elvenangel, the post was made Feb 21, 2008. The date currently is March 11, 2008. That post is under 3 weeks old. What month has less than 3 weeks in it? I do agree there is a lot of information lacking on the exact release, and the collector's edition, and the lack of pre-order is a bit odd, but this is their statement. There have been some games that just bypassed the pre-order step, so this part doesn't really surprise me. As for collector's edition, I personally don't care if they even make a collector's edition (not like it takes them that long to whip out one once the game is finalized) since I see them purely as a way to gauge more money out of you. Not once have I thought "Wow, I'm sure glad I paid another $30 for this game to have a little extra pet and a music sound track". Also, they said in a pod cast they already had some of the items for the Collector's Edition picked out, although I forget what they said (if I recall correctly, most of it was blacked out by marketing). |

Slaanesh = 6 I forget where I got this information from in the first place, but the wiki supports me. Also, isn't the symbol being used by WAR the symbol for united chaos forces? If it was just Tzeentch, isn't it a cloud type symbol normally? If that's the case, I guess chaos groups can have up to 30 then. :-D |

I am well aware of this fact. However, if you take a look at a few threads (the 6 page thread about graphics for example), people are still unsure about when exactly the game is going to be released (FY vs CY). This post was made simply to clarify as to the fact the release is set for Q1 FY, which is Q2 CY. |

2 1/2 weeks old is too old of an article for you? Feb 21, 2008: www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php Folks, Yeah, that site has it all wrong: 1) Our release date is currently unchanged and is still part of EA's planning for 2008. 2) Our release date hasn't been Q1 for quite a long time. As our CEO said in a previous earnings call, our date was moved to Q1 Fiscal Year 2008, not Q1 Calendar Year. EA, like most companies, operates on a fiscal year not a calendar year. So, in our case, FY Q1 = CY Q2. This is not the first time someone has confused CY and FY. As long-time members of this forum know, we've been looking at CY Q2 2008 for quite a while. 3) Whoever the spokesperson was (we have no idea who they talked to), didn't have a clue. Heck, even if we changed the release date, it would still have to be on EA's SKU planning schedule even if it was one year from now. The only way the WAR would be removed from the schedule is if we thought the game was in such trouble we would have to put it into turnaround or that the release date was so far away so it didn't make sense for it to be in there. Neither which is true and frankly, not even close to being true. So, I'm rather dubious about the source as well as the article. So, that's the scoop. Much ado about nothing as usual. We're still working on WAR and things move along nicely. As I've said before, we'll change the release date if/when we feel it's necessary to make a great game but as of now, it hasn't been changed. Mark The link is working again now, while it wasn't 10 minutes ago.

The links I have bookmarked for this topic have been taken down, but Mark Jacob's himself said the game was set for a Calendar Q2 2008 release. I believe several others have also stated the same.
EA/Mythic has pushed back the launch date for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) from Q1 2008 to Q2 2008. EA CEO John Riccitiello: "...[Mythic’s] Mark [Jacobs] came forward and said that it would affect quality if he held the March date. We made the decision with the big investment we’ve got behind it and frankly the talent and inspiration of the team to invest behind quality. We gave them a little bit more time, a little bit more money and we think we’re going to have a little bit more of a hit on our hands. So… simple. So, you’re safe Mark."
March would be a Q1 release date, and June is the Q2. This goes on, so on and so forth. |
