SWG was my introduction to MMO's and I fell for it hard.   I started just after land based player vehicles were introduced to the game(when exactly that was ..I can't remember).  I stayed with it steadily until the day of the NGE.  It still is my #1 MMO of all time.  I've not been able play anything(the exception being EVE but I've not played it in a year) since that can hold me to a subscription past 2 months and maybe a half year later sub-up for another 2 months.

Having said that, I'm more mystified by the NGE than angry or bitter at SOE.  Even, after loosing MULTI-millions worth of hard earned stuff when they deleted my vendors( yeah, I trialed back to see what was up), I only felt that it wasn't the game I had liked.

Like many I held out some hope that they'd decide to rollback the NGE but it's not happening, ever. ../shrug

To put it plainly, as someone that doesn't hate SOE;  they could roll back to pre-NGE, somehow re-establish the server populace, refund my entire investment and I still couldn't see myself back in that game.  Let's face it, it's a dated title.  The graphic style alone shows it's age and it just isn't worth a fee.

I've always liked sci-fi and as such all things SW but SOE:SWG can roll out anything they want, it's not my business, it's not a concern anymore.  Not my concern other than it's preventing the only thing that will make a difference to me.  It's long since time to pull the plug on the game, the hamsters are way past their due date.  Make way! for a new SW MMO that's graphic intensive and has touch of the old sandbox feel to the player character's development.  If they truly love the IP, then it's time to let it 'slip through their fingers'.

P.S.-  I need to acknowledge Antarious for the quote I scammed from him in my sig.  I had been visiting MMORPG.com for a couple years to get all the new gaming info I needed but it's this quote that finaly made me register to the site.  It's also fitting that SWG was the cause for my complete agreement to the quote and that the game was the reason I had felt(for a long time) that forums served little or no purpose.  Sometimes it's not bad to be wrong.  From one Vet Refugee to the rest; ../salute.

50-70 range would be normal for me

I don't see it as a problem at all.  The bills are paid on time, there's food in the kitchen.  I've traveled where I wanted to go already.  I've always had trouble sleeping so I still have time through a week to watch movies/tv, work on home improvements, jump in the car head into the city for whatever and still hook up the ex from time to time.

The only problem I do have atm is there's no MMO title that interests me that I haven't already played.  I'm waiting on AoC and until then just playing SP games and hanging out around here.

Np at all, just make sure your personal accountant gets in touch with the first half billion and I'll start putting out the feelers for the dev team. :)

Seriously though, I see now, what your after and I hold no bias against your ideas at all.  On my first read through I just got the impression that every point in the list was an absolute must have.  I trully believe there's room for everything in MMO's.  I'm just not convinced that we'll ever see an everyone's MMO but as for the 'surrealism' I agree it would have it's niche and probably be a riot to play.

Ok,

So you want a new real time mmo that really is a complete blending of every MMO ever created, all of the  pc/console story lines in existence and just dripping with extra special sauce.   A Google Earth meets Johnny Mnemonic beast loving a Honda Civic, while being captured on canvas by Salvidor Dali and all in one 35 dvd box or 4day cable net digi download. ROFL!

The very first (and only ... ever!) 750mil $ development priced game with a new standard in premium pricing, it's cheap, at 400$ a month or one Fed EX'ed human organ of your choice.Lol ..alright then.

I can't say I have that much hope for your wishes.  If you do get what you want someday, good for you, but I'll be a shocked as hell.  GL!

Thank you!, for impacting my life and all the sheer joy over the years, Gary.

Although, we never met, it's hard to say that you didn't know all of us; and perhaps(to a certain degree) even better than we knew ourselves.  Your inspired creativity helped drive so many, many people in so many different ways.  You helped fashion a 'ruleset' to day-dreams and allowed us to share in group fantasy adventure.

Everytime we let loose a roll of the devil's dice  or push a power button and ease back into a game.  We owe a little bit of gratitude to you.  So again, THANKS!! for the endless entertainment.

Best Wishes to your loved ones and rest in peace Mr. Gygax.    ....A True GAME MASTER.

Hmm, Worth it?  Not sure, but I'm getting the pre-order CE all the same.    I want  the ring and the extra stuff will be interesting during any  server downtime.

Hmm?,

EAKS

EAKS players often live by the phrase 'The journey is often more enjoyable than the destination.'
They are motivated by meeting the challenges of the world, but they are usually in no rush--because
seeing the creatures and places of the world is even more fun.

Breakdown: Achiever 60.00%, Explorer 80.00%, Killer 53.33%, Socializer 6.67%

Occupation-  Unemployed/Pseudo-early retirement due to being a  beneficiary of a couple insurance policies(Deaths in the Family).  I'll grab something b4 crunch time.

Education-  A+ Tech, MCP, MCSE NT 4.0, halfway through a 4yr BA

Age-  34

Gender- M

Fairly accurate results but I'd say Achiever and Socializer should be higher.   Afterall, I enjoy completing all I can ingame, atleast once.  Although I solo a lot, it's not like my ingame chat isn't fingers tripping over the keyboard at times or that I don't contribute as much(sometimes more than) others in guild/kin by coin, gear, time helping out others.  Then theres the AH's, crafting, loot buying/selling which contributes to the server populace as a whole and helps me out at the same time.
