As for unbias ratings, in these situations thats pretty rare. Those motivated to review and rate a game have reasons for those motivations. No more obvious so than by reading the OP

I agree for the most part.  But, I still believe that many people will rate a game based on the general opinion.  I bet you that there are posters that saw how much people are liking war and decided to give it a rating despite even playing the game.

War, for the most part, has a very positive rating so far.  I think people want to be a part of that atmosphere.

My favorite class changes a lot.  But i mainly prefer melee dps.

Healers are a very close second.

I find it funny because I was harassing my WoW playing friend a couple weeks back telling him to just wait that blizzard will take queueing from anywhere, and exp gain from pvp because both of those features work.

http://www.curse.com/articles/wow-en-news/291054.aspx

Queue from anywhere

Ability to reward some of the better loot in the game via battlegrounds.

Experience gain in battlegrounds

In such a short time it looks like WAR rubbed off on WoW. To me that makes WAR a success, and a solid concept. It is impressive that they made the mmo giant that is Blizzard look up and take notice.

Well...wow's next expansion wotlk has been planned every since wow became a hit success back in 2004.  If you dont believe me then read some of the forum post the development team made back in 2004.

Yea war added some new things not seen in previous mmorpgs that were a step in the right direction, but what mmorpg has not succeeded over its predecessor in terms of features?

I think both game are good.  WoW is much better then war atm, but war has great potential.

I am not saying WoW is a bad game. I am not taking a shot at blizzard. I am giving credit to WAR for some great features. I played everything from Meridian to WAR, and having said that, yes I agree both are good games.

Oh, well then.....kudos

Op its ok to have your opinion but how ignorant are you of the economy right now that you blame the 30% drop on the game!  LOL

Have you noticed the DOW down just about the same or every other stock that isnt a miracle stock like dendrion which is getting ready to release a cure for colon cancer so there up 40%(there a lucky one if you happen to have money in them and know whats going on) .  But yeah the economy downfall is all because of this game for there stock  lol.

If economy was normal they would be + or - 5 % which is normal for a game company to fluctuate.  As for the game itself, yeah its not what we dreamed of but they did try ad they are listening to there players from what i noticed noticed.  Everything we bring up they get right on it and let us know where they are on it.  Im not a big fan of warhammer but the game is entertaining for now and im having fun till something else catch's my eye.

p.s.  HAHAHA im still laughing about the stock drop you blame on the game.  Its pretty funny.

Listen "FraFra13"- I'm either assuming the number stands for either your age, IQ, or time you masturbate per day to keep the thoughts of how lame you are away. At any rate, the Dow Jones Industrials, while a great tracker for the marker, does not mean that all stock react that way. For instance, if you were to look at Activision in the same period (09/18-10/10) while it declined, only did so by about 25%- a far cry from the 37% of EA. (I was going to buy in for the WAR bump) My opinion is that sharp of a decline occured because they didn't hit the million subscribers that they estimated right out of the gate and EA had stated that WAR was their primary source of profit for 2008. Try reading more than the headlines, if you can actually read.

Holy crap Astralglide you anal lube, you.  That was awesome.

Edit:This is like the third thread I've ended tonight.  WTF

To the OP, if you think t3 is bad, wait till t4.  Things are slooooooow.  Heres a tip, grind PQs.  Find a good aoe (taunt) tank, a good aoe dpser, and a good healer.  3 man PQs over and over again.  It is the fastest way.

I know that TR is safe for the moment but if it ever does stop, then what a shame.  Its a FUN game.  Only reason why I didn't stick with it was because im more into fantasy mmos then sci fi.  Plus I was addicted to wow when it came out.  I still preordered and played it for a couple of weeks.

Honestly, the constant attacks and urgency to fight was really fun.  I mean, it made me stay on the computer for hours each day.  I always felt like I could discover the region a little more, I could finish this one thing and then go to bed.  It had that hold on me, and thats what i love about video games.  Eventually my thought process of "I need to log onto wow" made me stop playing.  But I think TR did a great favor to the mmo community.  It mixed up the shit we see over and over again.

Yea i'll admit, im playing war atm.  I feel inclined to play it because im in a pretty good guild and i have been dedicated since closed beta.  But war is just so....redudant.  It has good potential but its like a softer wow that focuses more on world pvp, hence the keep system (great system btw).

I just want to say that TR is really a good step for mmorpg, even if it has not received the recognition it deserves.  I fear it will become the next planetside in terms of unrecognized innovation, but hopefully im wrong.

since '99.  Never once, have I ever went to a message board of a game I didnt like and try to bash it.  For those that do, it is obvious you have an agenda.  Most likely you have friends who left your side in the game you currently play for WAR.  Either way, it is comical how you come here and show us all that you have nothing better to do with your time.  I dont know about anyone else, but I would rather be playing a game I did like or frequenting said games boards then going to the site of a game I hated.  You feel threatened by the popularity of WAR -- we get it and we dont care.

Yea but if everybody did that, there would be a lot less discussion about said game.

I personally enjoy people bashing the game as much as I enjoy people praising the game.  If I feel inclined to respond to the discussion or state my opinion, then atleast I have more opportunities to do it if both the haters and the fanboys are posting (not that everybody falls in that category).

If you would just express your opinions and not imply that they are "facts" then maybe you would be taken more seriously.

Im playing the game and OP is right, these are the facts.  There are many other issues in the game that remain to be fixed. BUT, at launch there were many more issues that Mythic has now already fixed.  Combat lag, scenario queuing, taking over keeps, class imbalances- all but many other things have been addressed by Mythic.  Yea the game needs more work, but its only been out for a month or so. Mythic is polishing and patching the game at a very nice rate.  All and all, this game has amazing potential.  Im not alone in that conclusion.

Counter-strike:source has always been on my computer since half life 2 came out.  Its kind of relaxing to be able to join a gun game and squeeze off a few rounds.

Also, I dabble with Rise of Legends, a follow up RTS to the very popular Rise of Nations RTS.

Rise of Legends is amazing and if anybody is interested in a cool sci-fi/fantasy RTS, I would highly recommend this game.  Graphics are amazing aswell.

This game's chat and social interface is bad.  They are improving it and it use to be much worst but at the moment it is very lacking.

If you want to join a guild, the best thing to do is go to their website and submit an application.  Guild leaders LOVE having their website look active.  If you aren't down to fill out an application, just ask random people if you can join their guild.

My guild, Scumbags on dark crag, barely talks in guild chat.  Vent is always active on the other hand.

We have all heard whines and relentless bashing of the game being half-ass done and great content cut out and such. But have anyone actually though of what would happen if the 4 citites wasn't taken out imetiately? or what if those four classes were still there? or why did mythic released it a bit early?

Well, i can't say anything else because i don't have solid proof or a link for it. But hear me out. The 4 cities were already done and the 4 classes are good to go. What would have made them pull those out just 4 months before luanch is a guess.

For the cities i can come to a sceptical conclusion. And i ask. What would happen if you actually have 6 major capitals at launch for players to play with? My guess is redundency. We don't even have enough players on some servers to fully take on even 1 or even commence a capital seige yet. And some would most likely guard their capital then help others which actually defeat the purpose of the game.

Classes that were cut out , WILL come back!! In a the form of patches and expansions. They were already good to go until they found that the classes didn't really contribute anything. The Black Orc is already Choppa on steroids, the Disciple of Khaine is already a Black guard with healing, the Warrior Preist is already a tank itself just like the Knight of the Blazing sun etc. No point having clones  in the game now. For those who argue about everything thet wasd promised but given because they were cut out i have 1 good reason for you.

ITS NOT MYTHIC'S FAULT, ITS EA'S!!!

Remember that everything was great and dandy when the project went underway. But when Mythic had to look for funding for the company they turn to EA. Everything got really weird. Being that, on contract, EA has leverage control on mythic.

Your class comparison is....off.  Also Mythic did say that it was their decision to cut the content, not EAs.

I personally think the other city cuts weren't that big of a deal.  Altdorf is a big boring place, i bet the other 2 order cities are worst.

War's servers may seem small because they have not gone through the "upgrades" that other games have done with their servers.

I believe the cap for war's servers at launch were around....5000. Many mmorpg have this number during release.  WoW eventually upgraded their servers several times and I believe the cap is passed 20,000.

That is why a server with a medium population may not be as full as you like it.

Also to note: PQs are beginning to show their weakness; lack of players in a certain area, at a certain time, with a certain level.  What will happen a year from now when people are re-rolling or joining for the first time and the majority of the players are well into the endgame (lvl 40).  Everybody knows that you cannot solo a PQ.

Maybe PQs will become the new instance queue where people join a Looking for group channel in order to complete said PQ.  Just a thought.
