                                       i don't see how you could shoehorn a typical trek character into any one class because the big appeal in the movies and t.v. shows was that the characters were kinda jacks of all trades...a little of this and a little of that. just start off with skillpoints and work towards the professions you want!

they are going to announce that all ddo players can switch their accounts over to lotro because bioware is taking over the i.p. for a forgotten realms mmo

ccp. look at how they have nurtured their playerbase. and skill based is they only way you could really incorporate star trek into a mmo. i don't think anyone would want a themepark  wow in space. the characters from the t.v. shows and movies were so much more than "one class' or "profession". they were jacks of all trades.
