the hype was correct about at least 2 games C&C:RA and C&C:RA 2 At least for those who like those types of games. Online games are a hit or miss sort of genere. |

well keeping the classes generalized lets people have freedom. I mean in a way D&D the prestige classes there where pretty restrictive. |

I wouldn't mind ads if it was accutly you know along the lines, you know like doing ads for sword sellers or makers. You know things that would make sense. I mean i dont think coke or pepsi can do anything in the game, even tho it would be pretty funny. |

Well there will be a problem when it comes to systems. I mean, there are alot of people who like to play casual, and wont keep there systems up to date with the "latest and greatest," hardware and software. So its hard to have a great looking game but have it be able to run on the average computer. Its almost mutually exclusive to a degree.
Btw, the only true way to tell if 1 gfx engine is as good as another is to swap the textures, and see what it looks like. Cause from the looks of it, it could be done and it would look the same. |

honestly it will all depend on what makes PvP balanced, so you wont have people sitting waiting around to kill a newbi that has just started the game. I mean that sort of thing can kill a game. |

I really hope the really immuture players continue playing WoW and leave AoC alone... I know I know *pops own balloon* Eh, it just shows how much time he has on his hands. Honestly its just talk, I mean poking fun in the industry. While I would hope AoC would become a WoW destroyer, I just dont see it happening, with the asain market buying it up. I mean really there is a small economy growing around it, that and EvE so I dunno. Wishful thinking on my part. |

my guess is that there are going to be stats that will help you kill NPCS, or give you better blocking, considering it seems the dungeons are more of creatures than people, that could be one way, while in PvP its people. So while there will be some bleed over when it comes to what weapons can better suited, I think its going to end up being more of a specailzations sort of things, also remember you will have 2 exp bars, PvP exp and NPC exp. What it may end up being is weapons used in PvP will be more like ageinst armor, or armor rating. And PvP will be creature based.
thats my guess anyway |

I have to agree it really didn't feel like starwars, it was star wars with its tech and ships and stuff, but what i think most people think of star wars is more of a "Epic tale" of 2 armies colliding, that was not part of the game. With the game the sandbox nature of it was nice, cause you could really do what you want. There was no real drive to say join the rebelion of join the empire, because even if you did, nothing really happened in game. You didnt get the feeling that you helped the rebelion in there fight against the empire. Which I think is what everyone was wanting out of the game. |

huh? ratings? I dont even look at them that much, generally i try the games myself, to see if i like them or not.
for me Voyage centery is good, it has a decent system, the problem is lack of intuitive play. plus things seem alittle stiff, I mean the boat combat I think is one of the best out there. Long before PotC and pirates of the burning sea was even out. Its just the game overall has something missing, I think its the lack of believeablity. I think thats the reason I'm not 100% sure tho. |

Originally posted by Illius depending on what i was doing, PvE most of the time it was sit there and do attacks, PvP I'm running jumping, stoping circling, Now the only class I ever moved while I was PvEing was hunter, I normally played as if I'm playing a FPS, generally I stood still unless I have to move around. Also kiting and that sort of stuff. Also i played Counter Strike alot.... while I will say that I'm no expert at it, circling and stuff is a tactic, I mean can you seriously tell me IRL that you wont be running around in circles jumping ducking in both a Gun and sword fight? Look at boxers they move around and circle, is anyone saying thats cheating?
Also there is another thing you can do ageinst a ranged target, try to run away from them too, then mount up and ride back to chop there head off |

Originally posted by fervor technicly there was already a mmo on a console, it was for the sega dreamcast, i bleave it was phantsy star online. It was ok, it was a scifi game, at least i think it was the name of it. So it is doable, because it has already been done. there was a keyboard attachment for the conosle, but that was mainly used for typing. |

You know I think they could do a "King of the Hill" and have it meaningful, pretty much a prize for being the last on standing. Or the first one alive to the top. The prize would be the selling or breaking point of the minigame tho. |

with combos i think you need to be standing still, I mean, the attack keys are right above your movement keys, so either your attacking or your evading. You can probly move and attack at the same time but moving and doing a combo may not be, I mean with something like kncking people back, you really want them to be close to use and so you dont want to move. Because you could miss someone because of your movements. |

(unless your a sadist or something) I dont know doesn't bother me for capture the flag type stuff. Its a "game" why not have things like that in it. And what makes you think capture teh flag isn't a primitve sport. Btw as long as i can use such flagpole as a lance or spear, then I'm game, notihng like using the the flag to beat someone to death with it.... |

well considering anything that is truely important is handled either in-game or, in account info, on there website, pretty much means that a forum is unnessisary. But I think they should keep a suggestions forum, and if they are going to let the game be alittle open ended for people to make UI mods and such, they are going to need a forum for that as well. You can always make it manditory cuss word filters. The other thing you can always do is if you find someone who is abusing the forums, you could effectivly ban there account from making forum posts, for like say a month, as a first offense. 2 months as second and so on. Which pretty much makes sure that they wont be a bother to anyone. Then you ask, what about making accounts for free, well thats where you make it so they have to put in there CD key for the game as part of there forum registration, Sort of what Battle.net did with there forums. So if someone really is that hell bent to complain they would be helping the company/store you buy it from.
Thats my opinion. |

honestly its the whole fantasy genere, i mean all you need to do is add elves and you can slap a "fantasy" sticker on the box and sell it. For me the whole tolkien universe has gotten dry for me. I mean there are other things that are considered fantasy, I mean things like vampires, werewolves, goblins (not the techie type). I mean dont get me wrong FFXI was fun and all but, I stopped playing it because my system couldn't handle more than 5 people on my screen. What I want is a different take on the fantasy, I mean things that you would see from a Magic the gathering card deck. But in my opionion I think the whole Orc/Elf/Halfing-Gnome/Human combo has pretty much run its course. I mean its the same old races doing the same old things. Granted there is only one other game that techinicly has that, that I am holding out for as a MMO but thats Warhammer 40,000 universe. But that pretty much has to be a FPS type of game anyway. For me the major draw for me for table top D&D was doing the strange stuff, Half-Dragons, playing a were-creature. From what I heard you could become a werewolf, in UO. The only other problem is classes... I dont think you can get away from it but, honestly they need to spice it up alittle. I mean at least AoC is doing that correctly, I mean you can be a tank, but you can also be a tank that uses spells. I mean games are being set up, for 5-6 classes and thats it. So it can be easy to balance. Which would bring us to the workmanship of devs and game designers. There seems to be a lack of creativity nowadays. I mean look at movies, they are just redoing them with better SFX, and modern actors. I dont count transisions from animated to RL people as uncreative, thats just me tho. No one really has any orginal ideas anymore. Maybe that isn't true, it could be that no one is willing to fund something that is new, because it is too high of a risk factor. I mean look what happened to the show Firefly there was a decent following, its just not everyone watching had the Nielsen ratings boxes. So it got canceled. What it seems is that people who has the money, wants to hold on it as close as they can. So its killing growth. Well before I start going into economicalpsychology, I'll end my rant here.
