But - (also official)  The whole of Hyboria is instanced.  That means that you can do all of it as solo or do it as a group in diffrent dificulty lvl after lvl 20  (abit harder giving more rep and so on).    Not quite sure how the mecanics work tho.  But the switching between instances is pretty much like normal to heroic in WOW.  But instead of just the dungeons in WOW beein heroic the WHOLE of Hyboria is heroic.  At least that was my impression of it.  

But if it has been balanced yet - Im not sure.

The WoW Heroic thing was really stupid in my opinion, I felt they should have put more time into creating new dungeons

lol and next expansion you get a remake of naxx.. yay. they must be paying people overtime to come up with this stuff...

and why didn't you get curse of the lotus? i think it's worth the 3 points. i would drop lotus tainted blood, since your an assassin and you probably won't be tanking any mobs. you can aslo get rid of one point in combo sabatage armor.

in the general tree you can drop 1 point off of toughness and get second wind. it's a great ability. in beta i often found myself out of stamina as an assassin when i was running dungeons with my friends and you don't regen stamina when your in combat.

very solid.

i hope that i have a bear shaman with that build in my group. the immune to root spell is amazing. i wonder if you can use it after someone is rooted?

also why not go for spell vengeance of the gods? from what i hear bear shamans heal more with the dmg they do.

the feat focus doesn't seem needed. from what i seen in the 20 beta if you have full casting concentration you won't lose cast time from attacks ever.

overall very nice build

Honestly i say those, because PoM will have knockbacks from hell, the ToS will be root and stun happy, the other casters can root, snare, fear, and charm.... If you are without the skills to avoid CC you will be rooted/slowed/stunned and dead b4 you get your second set of hits off on the caster. and at 80, no you can't 1 shot a caster, and yes, cc is more then fast enough to f you up for tryin to mess with them.

 

This game has a STUPID high amount of CC compared to like 90% of all games i am sure you guys have played.

 

i've been pondering that for awhile. either go for the rogue general tree and get agile mind, cheat death, escape artist, and excellent balance. or go for the xbow tree and get, shattering stance, grenadier, clear the field, and debilitating aim.

i'm more of a group pvp person. so i see my roll more as a cc first then damager second. and incapacitating stabs is a very fast move. so anyone even close enough to knock me back will be suprised :P. and with root trap / crippling snipe most melee won't get close enough to me.

also in beta when i was an assassin, i speced general and escape artist never worked. not sure how much "substantial chance" means but the 5 times i used it, it never worked. not sure if it was a bug or just a lower chance then i thought it would of been.

what do you think?

in both the pvp beta and the open beta there was alot of, "OMG WHEREZ MY NIPPLEZZ" so i'm sure it has something to do with it.

also i would say that the combat system has alot to do with it. for me at least that is the draw and a faster pace battle.

I haven't played the game yet and I am still keeping an eye on it. I have a question for you before I answer yours. Have you ever hated/didn't like a game before and posted a negative review of it in the appropriate forum? I'm not talking about a immature hate post, but a negative review that you fealt was very honest and fair.

 

Well, we must treat those with their opinions and reviews of AoC with the same amount of respect as we would want to be treated if we posted one. Just because one person has a great experience, doesn't guarantee every other person will too.

Just because a person doesn't like AoC and has had a bad experience doesn't mean they have a right to post immature hate posts and start a hate campaign. However, as adults, we need to realize that not everyone is mature or even educated enough to post in a coherent manner. Therefore we take from their posts the meaning and intention behind their hate to get to the real story. Some of these people have truly had a bad experience, but do not know of an effective way to say so, without pissing others off and being confrontational. We just need to ignore that part of their posts and get to the true nature of it. If it is truely a hate post with no other intent than to ignite a flame war, then posters need to ignore that thread. It will go away and they will too when no one is feeding the flame.

So that is my theory. Some of these posts are made by legitamite people who have had bad experiences and others are immature enough to just start flame threads and other people play into them.

I have played the tc beta, gc beta, o beta and there is little to zero replayability from level 1 to 20.

- You have 3 different races (all human race), they start on same location.

- They go from A to B, same path. It's like you go to work the same way, everyday, it's little joy.

- Playing different classes from 1 to 20 is very little action. They do not really show to be different from level 1 to 20.

 

*Note: You have SO MANY different classes to play, so from 1 to 20 is IMPORTANT to some people!

There will be alot of playing from the start to 20.

I speak of this, because it's really a BAD thing!

that's cool, i see what your saying.  for me replaying doesn't really matter to me. i don't usually play a game for how fun it is to lvl. not saying it wasn't fun to get from 1-20, i loved going from 1-13 so i imagine i'd like it to 20 also.

from my experiance lvl 1-13 didn't take long anyways. it's not like the biggest chunk of time spent lvling is from 1-20. after awhile, any game you play will have low replay value.

even tho they didn't do it on purpose they still did it :P. and i'm not saying it will never change. just the way it got dropped on us, by a ss of a manual that funcom knew about.  but still told us it was one way, but were really planning on doing it another way, is kinda shady.

Well the videos and all the quotes sound to me more like the typical developer whos so proud of their game and expects everything out of the game.  The guy who promises the world, and praises features which aren't set it stone, still being tested, or just beginning development cycles.

 

I don't remember them ever saying exactly how many people will be raiding, or that they have settled on a number.  They've said 500 people -in- the town, and -hundreds- fighting.  neither of which were complete promises, nor were they the explicit numbers going to be used.

I understand, but it's not like they are trying to lie to everyone.  They simply were unable to follow through with their original design -intention-


yep, i don't think it was planned to be that way either. but i understand why people don't like it and why some feel duped.
