honestly i think it will take awhile...there hasnt been a big jump in graphics performance in years...people running 7900GT's are doing just fine in most games....and nothing has pushed me to upgrade my 8800GTS yet.....so that 9800 Gx2 will stick around for awhile im sure

ah hmm so would you say that if i got another 8800gts in sli would it equal the 9800gx2? cause i hear that a 9800 is just 2 8800gts in 1 card.

Yea, they are lowering the tick of lifeblood but raising the end healing. effectivly screwing them over for raids. they live off thier tick in pve while usually let it bloom in pvp.

---"Fourth, PvP battlegrounds and the arena are perhaps the most played part of WoW, certainly more than raids, and correct me if I'm wrong but Fires of Heaven and Legacy of Steel were PVE guilds on PVE servers."

PvP Battlegrounds is a shoebox which was created to give PvPers a "playpen" to PvP in, this is not true PvP.  There is an entire world that Blizzard is just turning into a museum by outdating content and just power piling new crap on top of old crap that it now obsolete.

Arena's are nothing more than glorified duels.  Not true PvP.

And guess what? The WoW community has fought for YEARS to get the PvP content in order with siege-able cities, true outdoor world PvP and a motive to actually prove the alliance and horde are against each other instead of a carebear relationship of effectually made up of trading raiding strategies and gear trophyism.

very true statment. donno how to say it better. Battlegrounds are even worse.

It's an advertised PVE game attempting "cyber gaming" e-Sports with a broken balance :P

Don't ask much...

Which is why I find this absolutely funny as anything can be. Anyone who has a level 70 can tell you what the weakest classes are and what is the most overpowering, but hey Super Smash brothers has tournaments too, and there are characters who are just inferior to others in that game as well.

Let idiots think it is skill over brokenness.

"Idiots"...sigh..

Blizzard themselves said WoW is a PVE game and it's centered around that thus PvP imbalances due to that fact... They are always trying to balance the game for PvP without gimping a class raid viabilty in PVE...

I won't get into more elaborate PvP discussions since I can't be bothered, these discussions are all over the place :P but there are some classes / combos that are extremely hard to beat / impossible at times and skill won't matter just because the class you are playing is weak or the class you're playing against is strong...

However Smash Bros is a "PvP" fighting game isn't it ? So wouldn't you say it's designed around that aspect solely ? So I don't think that comparison stands.

WoW has fun PvP but I think that resilience kinda destroyed the "oomph" in it since you don't see as many crits...For one, I always find pre-TBC movies more fun to watch than TBC arena ones...Even if it's a "noobish" stream of crits or whatever you wanna call it, it's most pleasing to my gaming eyes. However I do respect the "arena tactics" approach and a solid win by outperforming your opponent team but sometimes it boils down to very stereotypical specs + combos which is boring... I wish they could find a decent balance between the "oomph"  and the "tactics" part, it would be nice...

Just off topic I do respect the Renataki Twins team by pulling off a 2000+ rating with 2 rogues mutilate.

It's quite fun to watch their movie and I think it's worthy of respect :)

this patch comming up they gimp druids in pve raid when they were already passed over for raid spots. and buff for pvp when they are already op.

That makes sense but lets say you see a caster and you are a melee class. The first thing the caster does is start sprinting. so you run after him. He keeps running till you are out of stamina and no longer able to use your combos. then all you can do is sit around and watch him kill you.

seems a good advantage to casting classes

I hope they make it so that you have to use your mouse to move screen position, or at least have it as an option.

If your having trouble you can always bind spells to the keys, F , R , C , V , G , T , Z , X , and then it's pretty easy and more effective then clicking. For me atleast.

I haven't seen any combos performed while people were moving. Maybe it's because of unskilled testers and hopfully not game macanics. Anyone wanna calm my fear?

Anyone following AoC more closely than I know if they're doing this with AoC?

I don't know about you guys but i'm sick of guarding nodes or trying to capture flags. I want gameplay focused on group versus group--team deathmatch style--overall based on competition and skill not "fun."

Is this the right game for me? I have read up on Kingdom vs Kingdom and it sounds like old daoc frontiers. That is exactly what i'm looking for but in a new game :p

Anyways just wondering if anyone shares a pvp point of view with me, lata.

[edit] Please, don't bring up WAR, i'm sure that game wont be out till end year knowing the devs. And i'd just like to add that im not anti-pve either, i like a mix of both, but i tend to catter to PvP endgame.

whats the point of PvP if you arent fighting for something or a goal?

Do you mean you pefer something like WoW's Arena system? where you throw in 5 vs 5 players to see how is the best?"

 [/end quote]

This is the exact reason DEVS should impliment a reward system for PvPing. If you recall DAOC they had realm ranks (think of it as a lvling system almost like EQ's AA) but only through PvP.

Rewards have to be good, and not uber item based.  Daoc used this-- if a team had control of all the keeps you got access to a epic dungeon, EQ2 had alternative advancement points, kind of like WoWs talent tree.  You have to give people a reason to PvP, so it doesnt become a mindless gankfest, but rather a competitive atmosphere within a guild versus guild scenario.

So what your saying is you want the objective to be more meaningful than "Watch This Rock"?

You want something where the controlling side gets something that the others have to fight to get (access to dungeons, special NPCs, etc) Just something that makes the victory seem all that much more sweeter.

If thats the point your trying to make, then yeah, it would be nice.

i think that's what battle keeps are for. only 9 in the whole server. they give buffs and access to recipies only avalible when you own a battle keep. along with pvp feats that you can get through pvp.. i think

well you were on one of the most populated server and the most abused server... the gms had to come in a nd break up the guild that was abusing everyone...not all servers are like that, like balera is a good world if you wanna just play in peace. or go for a non pvp server it's really up to you.
