Its down temp. Ojam who paid for the servers pulled out, So DPS is streamlining the game so he can pay for it himself....

I think most people are expecting Beta and release some time this summer, a GM recently said it wont be less then 1 month before the game ie back up, But i think 4 or 5 months is probably when it will be out...

People are who they want to be, if someone says "lol" at something funny, thats not ooc. its just easier then typing /laugh (which was a crap emote anyway)

Sure people talked about RL stuff too, but tbh if people want to make there Character who they are in real life, thats fine with me...

Just wait a bit longer and Fom will be back up, The changes are just streamlining some feautres, the only thing being removed totaly is the Justice system

for every person that stayed in pre ms1, 10 quit...(pulled that number out of the air :) ) but just go look at the earliest posts on this forum, there is so many people saying how much fom failed in in ms1 so they are quitting...

As ive said before, in some areas we now have more freedom, we no longer are forced into joining a Faction that has a predefined role.

You start with no afiliation, and choose to or not to make or join a clan..

Groups used to get there money from taking colonys, then doing missions. Now it wll be taking a base, and getting money (elementum) whilst ever you hold the base...The ony real difference there is you dont have to farm missions to get your cash...

Yes, well The factions they said are like the profesions in retail, so there not tht important.  the new player made factions are clans.

as i remember, you can pick your own uniform and badge, there will be a few ranks, and get set stance with other clans...so its like the old factions, but slightly better :D

except no fining anymore, if your bad you get ganked and kicked from clan.. :D and ganked some more

Im hoping that the free accounters can still gank paid account people...

They said in dev blog that Factions will be like the old professions from retail, so hopefully which ever profession/faction has the weakest/lowest quality stuff will be open to be ganked by free accounters.....

The only Major difference is the removal of the Global dominon justice system. (pp/arresting/DMC)

Everything else is still there, although somethings are a little different.

One of the extra freedoms that ive wanted for a long time was to start as a neutral player with no faction affiliation. And with Rebirth thats what we getting..I think it will be muce more interesting.

Im counting the days till I can play FoM again...

Ive never had such magnificent defeats or glorius victorys as ive had in FoM, compared to other games.

It will be back soon Wildblade, and the only Major difference is no predefined Justice system.

Dropable items had to be removed, If you remember some people liked making world servers crash by intentionaly dropping as many items as possible...

Hmm, turrets...Well LED was another faction it wasnt the police, the government is supposed to have the best equipment and an advantage, and tbh with all the newb ganking that went off,  turrets was good. Or dont you remember all the fun of brooklyn mall in OB?

O and well tbh i remember loads of people complaining about the old graphics, looked like half life 1......I didnt mind the engine upgrade..

I played since early OB all the way to end of retail.

OJam and DPS didnt screw it up, if anything it was player behaviour..

The vast majority of what people consider negative changes, was to counter the unfriendly and exploiting way that some players played...

YOu dont like Mission waiting rooms? well we shoudnt have exploited the misison system in early OB.

dont like turrets? well shouldnt have ganked newbs and made them feel like quitting the game.

Dont like manhattan as a safe zone, shouldnt have raided the senate for kicks every week and try to spoil other peoples RP...

the list goes on and on...

Hmm, no its all rumour and supposition.

As far as i am aware, Ojam had very little to do with the changes in FoM.

Some of the changes had been in the pipeline for a long time though, just with one thing or another DPS never got around to doing them.

Fom was and is a great game, cant wait to play again...

FoM is a great game, Through out Beta, newbs quit because the game wasnt newb friendly...some people left due to the crappy gfx and the bad servers...

Most of the people who left never came back and tried the game again....so they never saw the changes that was made to counter all the reasons people left.

There was also the hardcore fom players who saw any move to be more newb friendly as carebearing teh game...And that might be true, but as what would any of us prefer a game that shuts down because only a few people will play it, or a game that doesnt shut down?

FoM owns, and I wont even bother with the free account, going to pay as soon as possible.....But free acounts are a good idea, as i remember DPS talked about free accounts over a year ago....But with one problem or another never got around to it...

I played from Early OB till the end of retail when FoM shut down,

There was literaly no other game like FoM, sure it had its problems...but they was slowly getting fixed.

Now i dont play any game.....Only FOM will do...

I do hope they allow some new people to beta test and not just old Fom players :)
