The game is a ton of fun, bugs or no bugs, no one gives a rats a** whether any of you TROLLS and WHINERS like the game or not, do yourself a favor and get a life, I can't wait till WAR comes out so that you can move your whining and crying and trolling into those forums.

AOC have and will eventually fix all the bugs despite what the HATERS!!! say.

You can FLAME my post all you want, your just prooving my point about you.

Yeah, and I find it funny how they are so obsessed with AoC they post here every day. Very strange.

I like how they just nonchalantly drop this in there...

So I would put no stock in that number.

I wouldn't either. I don't even use xfire, and there really is no way of knowing how many people playing AoC use it.

3/4 of AoC's player base may not even use xfire so the only thing it means is xfire users that play AoC are playing less.

If you're running the game just fine and other stuff I wouldn't mess with upgrading unless you just want to. I don't have any problems with x64 except it won't run GameTap windows games, other than that it's worked ok for me. Others have different horror stories of upgrading to x64, so each experience is different. I was just curious is all.

And yes keep the SS's coming, I may not comment on them but I look at them when you make new posts about SS's.

Yeah, I've heard some horror stories too, which is why I've been putting it off.

I'm sure that wasn't hard to do for all you supposed LoTR fans who do nothing but plague the AoC threads make posting alts and post negative Hype because you know that LoTR is just too boring to play. If LoTR it is such a great game why are you guys here 24/7?  Most the players enjoying AoC don't even know this site exists, and the sales & subscription numbers clearly speak for themselves.

Mordria you run Windows XP with 4 gigs of ram? It doesn't see it all does it? What is the most it sees?

Just curious is all, you take nice screenshots too btw.

Edit:

Total Physical Memory    4,096.00 MB
Available Physical Memory    2.19 GB
Total Virtual Memory    2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory    1.96 GB
Page File Space    4.59 GB

Okay maybe not - Does the above mean I'm only using 2.19 gig and should upgrade to a 64 bit system?

bump - anyone know?

Sure there are. For example, go look on the trader and you will see sets of level 32, 34, 36 etc.. Im sure the numbers add up.

1500 armor pieces

leg, chest, arm, wrist, waist, boots, gloves, helm, neck

1500/ 9 = 166 sets

cloth, light, medium, heavy, full plate

166/ 5 = 33 different set in each class

I play an asassin and I can say there are more then 33 different clothing sets.

Your argument would be fine if they had said there would be "1500 armor pieces". Unfortunately they said there would be "1500 armor sets" (and emphasised that it was sets, and not pieces), so your argument kinda falls on its ass.

I am not going to claim that they lied - maybe there are 1500 armor sets in the game. I don't know - I haven't seen them. But the OP is spot on - they used the Gamespot beta to make people think this is what they would see on release, and it very blatantly wasn't. That is rather underhand, misleading, some might say dishonest, behaviour.

Then again, they also said that at release we would have DX10 and massive sieges with 100s of players onscreen at once, and that turned out to be a lie too.

 I'll try a different calculation..

1500 divided by 80 levels gives 18.75 armor sets

now divide those into the cloth, light, med, and heavy and you have 4.68 armor sets per level. which is probably about right.

I know the number 1500 was a rough figure so maybe it also takes into account numbers of unique items that aren't actually part of a whole set. Just guessing btw... but, it would definitely be nice to have more than 5 armor sets per level.

My main gripe is that in this review (and most other mainstream ones) AoC is treated almost  exclusively as a single-player RPG game. The talk is primarily about creating your character, cool combat and gfx and how did the quests turn out.

Obviously the review score is based on AoC SINGLE PLAYER RPG features.

There has been almost no mention at all of all the defining features of the genre. There is nothing really informative on social aspect of the game. No real info on economy, nothing useful on grouping and guild mechanics, no mention whether the world is static or dynamic, instancing  policies haven't been mentioned AT ALL.

It seems that for this reviewer it is the gfx, combat and quests that are the most important in determining this game's quality and ultimately success... just like in single player games.

MMOS =/= single player games. You can't review an apple according to oranges' standards.

It's just a simple review not a thesis. Do you really think a reviewer is going to take the time to join a guild, research the economy and do several end game raids?

It would be nice to see all that in a review but I'm sure they have other things to cover as well.

Oh, and as much as you would love to see this game fail, as you seem to have a personal vendetta towards the game, I'm sure it will be just fine.
