Someone forgot to tell that to my demonologist and my 2 team demos

And you no doubt spawn camped them or played against noobs (read my post).  CTF is bullshit.  You can't use that for any comparison.  Your squad would get smoked in team annihilation.

EDIT: Just noticed you got a level 10 demo with 10 kills.... come on dude.. that shit makes it way too obvious what happened in that match.  Pretty much any lvl 13 that attacks a lvl 10 is going to get fucked up. Level gap is a huge factor in their damage calculations.

makes zero difference...everyone is 19 the only difference is spells/combos and items...period

I don't believe that.  I one timed either a guardian or a dt that had (6) next to his name in team annihilation.

But let's say you are right....lol.. so 3 things that are completely irrelevant.  Appreciate the good humor.

Hopefully this will address the following PVP issues:

Right now pvp is kinda [MOD EDIT]If you can't hide, you are basically bait for someone that can hide or you're just an idiot looking to get [MOD EDIT].  So far I would say the best class for PVP is ranger.   The reason being is because it can deal out shitloads of damage from long range and still has the ability to do it with stealth.  You can't beat the stun shot from stealth mode either. They also get medium armor and great HP/Stamina.

Assasin is probably second and Barbarian third.  I haven't played either but from what I can see on the battlefield is how I rate them. They are both good DD's in PVP.

Soldiers pretty much suck, but they can at least take some hits.  Conqueror (with the best DPS) can do some damage but all in all the tank class is a joke right now with the level cap at 13.  They aren't even worth killing if there are other classes around.  That's how pathetic they are.

If you play a mage class you will get owned.  Plain and simple.  Regardless if you are ToS you are going to get singled out and you will go down quick.  For the people reading this that disagree with me, you are playing with noobs.  (As a ranger) I can two time a mage class.  Healing is crap.  It does not do nearly enough for the amount of damage dished out at this level.

I can't speak for Herald of Xotli or Demonologist since I don't play them, but what I can say from what I see is that they are "ok" but Demonologist seems to be better, maybe even 4th on the list.

Necromancer = the suck.  Their pets do minimal damage and they have low HP so they can't take much damage.  A decent thing about them is they can hide.  I can, however, see this class being awesome later.  Also, their pets aren't half bad at keeping others from hiding because of the constant damage they do.

Lastly, CTF is redundant.  Most people that do CTF don't even give a shit about the flag.  There is rarely any team work involved and it's just a gank fest with the rogue classes waiting on someone to grab the flag and stab them in the back when they are going back to their base.

One might also say team annihilation is a gank fest too but at least people attempt to knock out the others totem (usually) which can require teamwork.

Just out of curiosity, are you running 32-bit or 64-bit windows?

I have been getting the 0x109 bsod repeatedly while running the game.  I found out what the error message is from microsoft's website. It says:

There are generally three different causes for this bug check:

  1. A driver has inadvertently, or deliberately, modified critical kernel code or data. Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and later versions of Windows for x64-based computers do not allow the kernel to be patched except through authorized Microsoft-originated hot patches. For more information, see  Patching Policy for x64-based Systems.
  2. A developer attempted to set a normal kernel breakpoint using a kernel debugger that was not attached when the system was started. Normal breakpoints (bp) can only be set if the debugger is attached at start time. Processor breakpoints (ba) can be set at any time.
  3. A hardware corruption occurred. For example, the kernel code or data could have been stored in memory that failed.

So it seems it's either an nvidia driver related issue or some sort of programming issue.

That video card is like the absolute bare minimum to play this game.

Actually, that card is rated better than a standard geforce 6600 (the minimum card).  Shows how much you know.  He also won't get 20 fps playing other aspects of the game.  It will crawl.  I guarantee it.

Edit: this is assuming he is using the pci-e version of this card.

By the way I see you are in Waltham, MA.  If you have comcast you could have got the beta key and download for free.

Anyone else have this problem, and or know how to fix it?

I assume you are talking about the pop up window that is supposed to come up so that you can click on the download link?  I don't know what it says in that box, if anything, but try temporarily disabling any pop up blocking stuff you have running.

Just activated my free account via comcast and I was immediately given a code and a d/l link.  Hate to think so many people were anxiously waiting at their computers to get keys from fileplanet.... see you all in beta!

I appreciate your response, Raston, however I am looking for something that is more heavily involved.  It is difficult to do things when you have a mix of casual and hardcore gamers.  I know this from past experience.

Thought I would post on this thread instead of making another one with the same topic.

Looks like you're in the same boat as me, OP.  Same age as you and  I'd like to join a guild but I don't want to get shafted like so many times before on raid loot.  Mostly referring to getting skipped because the "higher ups" would rather pimp out their alts than give main characters the right equipment to be able to do even more stuff later.

Most likely going to roll a Dark Templar and/or Guardian.

I am looking for the following:

1) Efficient and smart loot distribution.  I believe time invested should corrolate to reward earned.

2) Exclusion of petty BS/arguing between members.  Here to play, not to do that.

3) Group levelling.

4) All things related to PvP.

If I was you I would Ebay your 1950 and  save up for a 9800 GTX 512mb there around $400 and for the price there very fast or if you dont want to spend to much a 8800 GT 512mb there around $200 + and its still a very good card.

Model Year Code name Fab (nm) Bus interface Memory max (MiB) Core clock max (MHz) Memory clock max (MHz) Config core1 Fillrate max (MT/s) Memory Graphics library support (version) Notes
Bandwidth max (GB/s) Bus type Bus width (bit) DirectX OpenGL

Contrary to the above quoted post, if the min specs are around a nvidia 6600 the OP can most definately play this game.  I would say the radeon x1950 is a mid ranged card.  I would say playing on medium settings is not out of the question.

I have never seen an MMO keep the NDA up with just a couple of weeks until release. It is very unusual to say the least. I'm not one of those people that thinks its a sign of certain doom, but I can't say it inspires confidence either. The very limited "open beta" where you can only get to lvl 13 is strange too.

Your user name is skeptical.. haha..

Anyways, what does it matter if the NDA is on or not?  If you don't think the game is very good or has potential why don't you flip through all the youtube videos of the game and make a decision for yourself.

You don't have to play something before it comes out to see that the game can be good.  You see movie previews and you go and see movies don't you?

Have you ever gone to a movie that other people have said was shit and did it just because you wanted to see the movie?

Principle is the same...

Someone who only has the xp of CTF CAN'T LEAD a massive attack. CTF isn't pvp for pvp players (wow is a pve game and has CTF, DAOC is a PVP/RvR game and doesn't have CTF)

CTF is for pve players. even lotro's monster play is more interesting than those... things...

Quake 1 CTF/TF was the bomb.  Who said it can't be good on this too?

Its going to run it, how well depends on other parts in your PC/Laptop and your internet speed. Going to be on low setting though, so dont expect it to look like the screen shots.

Saying it's going to run it does not mean he will be able to play it.  Just because he can load into the game and can get 5 FPS does not mean anything.  I am still going to say you can't play the game.

Seriously.. will you just admit you don't know what you are talking about.  That is not the same card he has.  He's got a laptop with a GO and it's a 7400 not a 7600.  You didn't even get that part right.
