what it tells me is that they're trying to keep the forum trolls that plague wow as far away as possible.

The early start has gone near flawlessly,  with only minor patches.  Things should be almost perfect for launch.  much better then any other mmo launch i've personally seen.

Healing classes?

I'm playing a dps class, oh wait, I guess I do have heals. :-)

No comment on pvp yet though.

The time between funcom saying dx10 would be in and the time saying it'd be q3 is probably well within most people's return window.

I could not for the life of me figure out what stores have the rhino so I just went with the mammoth since I definitely didn't want to end up with a bow with who knows what stats.

Wrong, AoC has been stated to include 64bit version.

It wont take advantage of the 64bit architecture, but it certainly wont be hindered by it.  I wish I could find the link, but i'm at work.  I think the following video includes the statement, but I don't have sound either so I can't confirm.

It will have a 64bit .exe, to allow it to run on a 64bit OS, but it will still use 32bit libraries.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was trying to say but couldn't remember the verbage for.

15.3 What steps are you taking to stay true to the original Conan lore?
We’ve focused on the lore like nothing else, and we’ve worked hard to ensure it stays true to the spirit of the stories. Most of the developers are huge fans of the Conan universe, and steeped themselves in the novels, comics, and films. We also have dedicated “lore people” that focus on keeping everything consistent, and we also work closely with the other companies working in Hyboria, like Mongoose Publishing, Penguin Books, and Dark Horse Comics. In addition, Conan Inc., the license holders of Conan, are closely involved with the development.

They're trying to stay as close as they can.  And atleast they don't have permission to just retcon whatever they want and add space cows to the game like the last mmo I played.

The reason you don't hear much talk about the lore is both that yes most people aren't aware of it and that most of the world is still blocked by the nda.

You're system should run AoC like a dream.  If I were you I'd stick with XP, unless you feel like you need DX10. And if that is the case, buy the 32 bit edition.

Does just to kill time until Warhammer preorder beta starts count?  if so me +3

the assumption would be yes, but that depends on who the manufacturer is.  Do you have the actual model of the mobo?  Or does the box show sli on it anywhere?

Note: I'm aware you wrote sli on there but if it doesn't have the cute stamp on the box it may have just been put in there from x website you bought it from.  IT wouldn't be the first time someone miswrote something online.

And I could only run the game on low with roughly 25 fps when I was out by myself in the solo instanced areas, and around 10 fps when I was with other players or in town. Now I am not sure if I was one of the many people who had performance problems when they shouldn't have, but open beta definitely help me decide to wait at least a month after release to try the game out.

Also, it should be noted that I take excellent care of my PC.

That sort of worries me. Such low FPS doesn't sound very good for that. o_o

@ Lexloci

Ah yeah, my video memory meets that too.

Thanks for the help everyone, although that 25 fps worries me o_o

"Better then yours" is subjective.  AoC, while multithreaded really only makes use of one core (about 80% of the processes).  Which puts 3.2 single core above a 2.3 quad.  And last I knew didn't support sli so that second card isn't adding much perfomance.

I'm fairly confident you'll be able to run the retail version on medium with that rig easy (unless you use a huge resolution).  I think most of the people saying it'll run poor have experience from open beta, and it's been confirmed retail will be much more stable and refined.

should be able to run it on atleast medium no problem.  And I can't tell enough of a diffrence between medium and high to warrent worrying about not being able to play on high settings.

Oh, is the video card atleast 512mb?  completly diffrent story if it isn't.

other then the one time I took my armor off on a new toon just to see for myself, I haven't even seen any boobs in the game.

Gore and bloodsplatter on the other hand, constantly.

AoC has high system spec and a Mature rating.  For the most part the kiddies are sticking with wow.  Probably getting a decent amount of adults to switch though.

If you don't raid, be prepared to group with idiots who are too dumb to figure out how to click 3 buttons.

Do some research and find out if your mobo/video card has drivers out for vista 64 bit, and if they're working well.  If so, get 64bit.  If your research turns up the drivers are buggy, go with 32.

Rule one, if gamestop doesn't have rave cards, don't preorder from them.

Gamestop employees don't regularly read the information about preorders, they're suppose to, but they don't.  So there's a good chance when you go in and ask them about a preorder all they know is that they're suppose to enter your information in the computer and take your money.  If they don't give you a rave card, ask for one, you may have to refer to it as a preorder card even though "rave card" is what gamestop refers to them as.  There is a good chance when you ask for one it'll be the first time the employee hears about it.

Rule two, any time in life you aren't satisfied with a product you recieve or don't get what you payed for; get your money back.
