I haven't done a lot of scenarios in tier 3 and 4 (scenarios are similar to WoW BGs, you queue, there are mostly even teams, however warhammer has a time limit on all scenarios), but to contrast WoW from those levels:

WoW:

level 1-9: no BG, level 10-19 only WSG

Warhammer:

level 1-11: 3 different conquest scenarios (similar AB, but all 3 play differently from eachother)

level 10-21: 3 totally different scenarios (either murder ball or king of the hill)

WoW:

Once you get honor and/or rep head to either your race's capital or maybe the warsong camp to pick up your gear.

Warhammer:

After level 10 you can't just pick up your gear, you have to grab 10-100 of your closest friends (depending on how many defenders there are) and take over a keep.  Kind of like leaving south shore, heading up to tarren mill, killing all the horde there, then once you kill the mayor you own the town and all the npcs there become alliance npcs.  In warhammer you run to the top of the tower to pick up you gear, but don't dally because chances are there is a group outside the keep setting up their catapults and getting in a battering ram to knock down the gate your side just put up.

The only reason I'd like it is to kill order trying to do a parallel PQ.

RvR and PvP
RvR is a bit of a mess. Nobody has a clue what they are supposed to be doing. Good luck finding people to group with, everyone (including people who rolled healers) just run into the fray head first and start spraying spells

...

PvE and Questing
I would often have mobs run away for no reason, even before I had done any damage. At first I thought maybe this was part of the AI, but as I played on it became obvious that even mobs who shouldn't run away (such as Champion mobs) were still tucking tail and running. I can only assume it's a bug.

...

I think people are expecting to be able to level from RvR alone, and I can tell you now that doing so would be painful. It would take easily 3-4 times as long to do it that way.

...

Money
That brings us to the money issue. Even playing as far as I did, saving every bit of money I could, gathering skills and all included, not to mention all the extra grinding I did just to farm money, I was still able to buy only 4 of the 12 pieces of the Dominion set. There were times where I struggled to be able to afford even my basic class spells. Needless to say, prices on gear and spells are too high, or money drops are too low.

...

Crashes
As was mentioned several times before, I believe, crashing is a serious issue right now with the game. My own client crashed roughly every 30 mins,

Just a few comments about these statements:

It's not surprising that the RvR seemed chaotic as all the servers had a lot of new people.  The open world combat is probably different from what a lot of people are used to.  You are right that no one (not even a tank) cannot assume they can run into a large group of the opposing force.  You have to be a lot smarter about the large combat, look for people out of position, use knockback to put someone in a bad position, protect your healers, etc.   I don't think it's fair to give people 3 days to level and figure out how to assault a keep, it's not enough time.

I believe the mob AI is a bug, though I thought the aggro radius of low-level mobs always felt a bit low, that seemed to be a fairly recent issue.

I usually level from 1-4 doing the PvE quests and from level 4 on I mostly PvP.  This actually goes really fast.  What you possibly missed was that in chapter 1 there is a repeatable quest for running a scenario and in the warcamps there are a variety of quests for exploring the RvR region and a repeatable quest for killing a certain number of enemies.  Doing these quests while running scenarios and taking over battlefield objectives lets you level pretty quickly.  Actually I wish I didn't level from 10-12 as quickly as I do since those levels are insanely fun.

Similar to the XP issue, an easy repeatable quest to pick up is the Kill 5 enemies quest.  You get xp and 6 silver for this quest and you can pick it up from multiple warcamps.  Basically every time you kill 5 enemies you get 13 silver.  I do agree that the money is still pretty tight and submitted feedback saying so.

I realize crashing is an issue for some people.  I had an older machine and felt lag in RvR and crashed 1 or 2 times a night.  A couple weeks ago I got a new machine with 4 gig of memory and only had 1 crash the entire preview weekend and I get very little lag even in heavy RvR.   The thing is it's only been a few months since I stopped playing WoW, but I can still remember getting the occasional BSOD, server disconnects, 1 frame every 10 seconds whenever a large force tries to enter a capital city, watching half of my guildmates get dropped because someone managed to reliably crash an entire WoW continent.  The big difference here is we haven't even seen the final warhammer client, this client likely has debugging/feedback code in it that won't even be there come release.

In general I can understand your points, but I don't think it's fair to just play for a couple nights with a bunch of newbies and assume that that is how the game will play after launch.

guild wars.. revoliutonary game.. free game play better game than eq2 even less addons than eq2 :D ( god i once remember checking eq2 it had so many paid expansions.. was like 3 years ago.. it was scary )

yet again had open weekends betas.. lovely game , im sure there were more..

I was in the LotR "open" beta, but I had to pay $5 for a preorder to get in.  Guild Wars also let people into their beta weekends who pre-ordered, not everyone was let in.  You've seen negative posts, but no positive posts?  Pretty easy to explain.  There are some people who lie and say they are in the beta when they're really not, there are people who genuinely don't like the game so they don't mind breaking the NDA and possibly losing their closed-beta account (negative posts) and finally there are people who love the game and respect the NDA.  Hopefully you'll be hearing from a bunch of them later today... :)

What's really amazing is the OP made all that up and so many of you fell for it, you might want to wait until the NDA is lifted before having said discussion.

I probably got the same email as skeptical, a notice that the date changed and that I could cancel if I wanted.  Looking at the order I don't see any kind of "reconfirm" button and the preorder is still in my queue and the download codes are still there.

Does anyone really believe WoW has 10 million active subscribers?  I've always thought they used interesting wording, I think they have 10 million accounts some are active, some are inactive, some are closed.  If blizzard had 10 million active accounts all paying for 6 months to get the cheapest rate possible $12/month and they didn't make any other money at all from transfers, other games like starcraft/diablo/etc, the card game etc, they would be pulling in $360 a quarter alone, but it's public record they brought in less than $300 million last quarter and that would have included all the other forms of income I mentioned.

When was WoW ever an "open" or "seemless" world?

make a guess , you are trying hard to look stupid

WoW isn't seemless, you just don't notice the loading between zones.

If there were separate instances between zones you wouldn't be able to see someone who was across the boundary.  It would be easy to prove your statement if someone were standing 5 ft away across the boundary and you couldn't see them.  Just because they load textures/models when you get close to another zone doesn't mean it's a separate instance or that the world isn't seamless.  We all know the game isn't 100% seamless because there are some loading screens, but a majority of the game is seamless.

I saw some knockback in one of the videos, I think that is the perfect form of CC.  Interrupt someone, take off their target and send them back 15 feet.  You never really lose control of your character.  I was glad to read they plan on not being heavy into CC as it was the thing I hated the most about WoW.

I think OP is just a weak troll, but in case he's not, here is an explanation that might help...

Recipe: Chocolate Milk

Ingredients: Chocolate and Milk

In WoW you might have the chocolate and you might have the milk, but if your character didn't buy or find the RECIPE: Chocolate Milk he can't make chocolate milk.

In warhammer if you have chocolate and you have milk you can mix them together and get chocolate milk.  You don't have to buy the RECIPE, you just mix it yourself.  And if you happen to have some jalapenos or a banana handy, you can crush them up and add them to your chocolate milk to see if you like it better that way.

Hope that helps.

I think that's fine, for me the question is can someone be competitive playing only a few hours a night vs someone who plays 6+ hours a day.  WoW gear scales through the roof with each set much better than the previous to the point that you aren't really competitive unless you're at the cutting edge.  I'd much rather see the big jumps happen early to get people competitive (even if they are still at a bit of a disadvantage), then put the cutting edge 5-10% above the previous tier.  If 5-10% isn't enough incentive for people, make the gear look a lot cooler.

This sounds awesome to me, exactly the style of game I'd like to play.

Coming right from the Dev team that RvR WILL have MORE content for RvR. Will you be upset when it takes 2-3 hours to take a castle/keep and you dont have the time to devote to kill the king to get the best gear?

If it's not instanced I'd hope it would take a lot longer than 2-3 hours, especially considering the end result is one faction losing access to a capital city for a full day. I'd love to see sieges last multiple days. I'd like to log in at night an relieve the group at the front lines. I want epic, epic is not pillar humping in 2v2 for a few hours a week with n in-game (other than epeen) ramifications and epic is certainly not "killing" the same boss every week and having addons tell me I need to move or to "get ready for the next big thing that will wipe the party" or I need to not hit so hard because some big meanie will one-shot me if I hit too hard.

Who's complaining?  All I see in your posts is, "WAAA!  Only people who raid should get decent gear.  PvP sucks because it's not a scripted encounter I can run over and over and over again week after week and if I don't have gear that is 100x better than everyone else I get pwnd.  WAAA!"

Why dont you casual players stop whining and Defend Halaa so us hardcore players can get the World Buff as were grinding Badge Gear? I mean Blizzard went so far as to supply gear that is just as good as most Tier 5 through doing Heroic non-raid dungeons and you still complain.

While I find your constant whining and crying about casuals "whining" somewhat amusing (since it's hardcore raiders who do all the whining and crying), it is amazing how ignorant you are to simple economics.  We're supposed to be impressed because you have 6+ hours a day to waste watching youtube videos to see how to down a boss, farm mats and maybe get in 3-4 hours of raiding?  You honestly think Blizzard wants to say goodbye to 90% of their customer base because 2 hours or less per day isn't hardcore enough for you?

Try not to min/max so much, people aren't saying, "don't have gear" or "gear shouldn't matter."  They're saying don't make daily time invested >>> skill.  Casuals don't want handouts, they want to be competitive.

It sounds like you enjoy WoW hopefully you'll stay there, after all the "casuals who enjoy PvP" migrate over to Warhammer you can enjoy your game without us...

Finally got my gamestop order cancelled and true to form Amazon gave me my codes immediately.

So now that it's been 4 days or so, Gamestop finally sends me the keys, WTF!

I gave up, I just noticed the in-game item is for PvE anyway.  Amazon was quite a bit cheaper and it looks like the code might already be ready.  Now the only downside is the ebgames.com website isn't letting me cancel... :(

Did Gamestop ever resolve it?  They just did the same thing to me.  A week ago I pre-ordered the CE and after a few days I sent an email asking if they were going to send me the code and I got a response to wait 48 hours (not including weekends).  After a full week went by I sent another email and they sent me an Age of Conan key similar to the email you posted... :(  I replied that was for the wrong game and haven't heard anything since.

I like the ebgames preorder item better than the amazon one so I hope they get it right soon as I don't want to cancel...

I think they would have been far better off putting a couple double-sided dvds in a sleeve and sell them in stores for $5.  I didn't mind paying $5 to try out LotR and if you buy the game you get your money back...
