Even though I think the state of the game has declined over the years, Ultima Online is still worth its fee. I've been thinking of getting back to the game, and I suppose this may be an excellent time to do so.
I loved the Gargoyles in the single-player Ultima-games, so I'm certainly looking forward to seeing how they're implemented. [gargoyle] To be hopeful! [/gargoyle] |

Ultima Online is (was?) a lovely sandbox for people to play in, with great potential for role-players who want (wanted?) to create their own adventures. On top of that, many gaming veterans may have fond memories of the single-player Ultima-games of yore. Therefore, it is (IS!) loved by many. |

In an interview with Star Trek Online Magazine, Daron Stinnett revealed that a new teaser site is planned for early 2007. Exactly what that implies is as of yet uncertain, but hopefully it will officially end the media black-out once and for all (or at least once). |

Bah, I say leave Britannia the way it is (or better yet; revert it to what it once was) or create a whole new game from scratch! Britannia does not need a make-over, but rather resuscitation! |

A teaser site implies something, and as far as I'm concerned, that's a step up from practically nothing. |

Some time ago, Perpetual announced a "media black-out", meaning that they would not be working much on showcasing their progress for some time, however, in an interview with Star Trek Online Magazine, Daron Stinnett announced: |

The game is in an early stage of development. Developing a good MMOG takes time. If anything, the game will probably be delayed further. |

Actually, I think they generated the image of the old Constitution-class NCC-1701 as a backdrop, using a bluescreen or something. |

Well, they announced officially that they wouldn't be working much with the media, so it makes sense that they haven't. They may be taking the old "Let the community build itself!"-approach (one which I am not entirely fond of, mind you). |

I'd rather use the replicator, actually; feels more "trekkie". I would however like to have the ability to change the settings of those items, so as to for instance be able to over-charge a phaser, use a tricorder's energy cell to amplify a combadge signal, reprogram a combadge to give off a weak energy pulse et cetera. There are many interesting things you can do with your equipment. Of course, if they choose to remove Klingons from the initial release and add them as part of a commercial expansion (which seems quite likely to me) they'd have to include the ability to craft melee weapons and armor, with the ability to customize, specialize and... ...dramatize? |
