The first scenario is fair because they are paying for their subscription.

And I think that CCP statement is referring to people who do pay and who do play. Its unfair to them that people are gaining the same amount of skills while not playing and paying.

It isnt that hard to understand really, is it?

I can see CCPs point.

What exactly is the lie?

Mission grind is not the only way. You can mine, trade, belt rat (0.0 is very good for this), join a corp which has corp insured ship program, exploration and pirate to name a few.

Sadly, the industry and trade missions have been lacking some attention for some time.

Security missions seem to vary much more as I guess most people prefer combat.

Why are people so obsessed with numbers and biggest being best?  Is this an American thing?

The quality of the game is what counts. Who cares if 100m people are playing my favourite game if the server only holds 5000 at a time.

Sandbox.

No, wait. Virtual World.

No, wait. Single server.

Huh? Eve doesn't have quests.....

WoW was the game that dumbed down the MMORPG industry. It has nothing innovative AT ALL.

I have not played WAR as I prefer sandbox games but at least it brings something new to the table.

I do not consider UO to be a sandbox since they introduced Trammel.

1. RvR / PvP is ruled by Level (over) Gear (over) skill. No matter how good a player(s) is/are they CAN NOT compete against a group that out level(s) them by any means.

Whatever happened to strategy?

I really don't know why people continue to play these dumbed down games then come complain on forums.

I played Elite once they put in real physics and it was awful to play.

So, my answer is NO.

WoW = McDonalds

Lots of people go there, its poor quality.

If people then started going on about how good McDonalds was and using it as a great example of the food world.

Thats why.

Actually you have it wrong about UO.  Trammel actually boosted the playerbase because many could actually play without constantly getting ganked.

Those are the type of players that play to level or collect items. Once thats done, nothing left to do so they leave within 7 months normally. What Trammel did was turn UO into a no risk game with a short life span for players. Previous to that we had competition for resources, etc etc. Much more exciting and better for long term gameplay.

Players who play the game as an immersive world are usually playing for years because there is no 'End game'.

Who cares about how many people play a game. Its how good the game is that matters. WoW a masterpiece? Dont make me laugh. It's a dumbed down MMORPG with no new features.

McDonalds and WoW......enough said.

You could have done research which would have showed you alternative ways.

1. Try another region

2. Find a research service corp

3. Build up to your own POS for research

4. Buy the BPO already reseearched.

But....sadly, some people are just too dumb to play Eve.

That's what multi-player games are for. MMORPGs shouldn't have instancing. Being bothered by other people is part of playing an MMORPG. It adds immersion and risk.

No, it adds psychopath asshat twits out to screw up YOUR fun.

These things are supposed to be fun, not a pain in the tuckus.

Immersion has NOTHING to do with the intense hatred of instances in dungeons voiced around here.

Removal of griefing targets has EVERYTHING to do with hatred of instant dungeons around here.

EVERYTHING.

Then play a single player or multiplayer game then. You can do everything you need right there. No need to dumb down MMORPGs to your level of gameplay.

Personally I like the fact you need to use intelligence and strategy to get around players wanting to spoil my day. It creates risk, reward, politics and intrigue. I find that FUN, if you don't well thats your opinion. Playing against the games AI is rarely rewarding for me.
