I love post-appocolyptic settings. Today after spending some time reading the past few newsletters I decided to dig up my copy of Fallout 2

Unfortunately it wont work on Windows XP. I dont even know if it would work on Windows 98. Is there a way to get these old DOS games to work on XP ? Besids partitioning my hard drive and installing a copy of windows 95 lol

I need a fix until Fallen Earth comes out !

Did you try running it under win98 or 95 compapi..compabilitymode?

I know I've played both fallout 1 and 2 on my XP machine...

I wish there was a software program I could buy that would let me play some of my old games. I would love to play Master of Orion 2 as well.

I suppose I should toss out these floppy games lol especially considering I dont even have a floppy drive anymore. Maybe its time to clean up my desk

Somethings wrong with your setup, I've run Fallout 2 on ME, 2k, XP, and Vista (with some tweaking).  XP just required me to put it into win98 compatibility mode.

Read your PM's.

Pretty hard to find the game these days... Even bargainbins are full of FPS craps and other modern crap games... Might have luck online.

Can't think of why you would have any problems. I run both 1 and 2 on my XP computer with no twiking of any kind. First off did you use the largest config you could? It uses almost no storage and I don't have to use the CDs then.

I found a work-around, its fine now thx.

I messed around with Master of Orion too. Pewoo the graphics lol. I dont recall them looking so awful. Still the gameplay is pretty sweet.

My son is looking over my shoulder in amazement, "dad how could you play this, it looks terrible"

check the general discussion page. I just posted an update with several links about the development (or lack of) for Fallout MMO.

We'll be buying the 3rd expansion for Fallen Earth before a Fallout MMO gets launched

Fallout 3 out later this year.  I have already seen presell boxes out at Circut City.

Should be enough of a fix to tide us over until Fallen Earth comes out.
