This is a close one again. Cpu does NOT fit with t2-Hardeners! Switch so cheap Dread Guristas Hardeners if you have the money.
Dps with Drones: 340+. If you want to invest more training, you can go up to a max of 420 (all lvl5, so totally hypothetic).
Insane Tank. While weltratting your tank will never crumble, in Missions you may want to switch one of the BCU to a SPR and switch some Hardeners to passive Hardeners to compensate for the reduced Caprecharge.
Tanks a whopping 700dps against guristas with t1 hardeners. With Dread Guristas Hardeners it will tank even more.

(Who needs a Raven anyways?)

High power slots

7x Heavy assault missiles loaded with Terror missiles

1x Something (small rep, gang mod w/e)

Medium power slots

1x Large shield booster

2x Invulnerable fields

1x 10MN Microwarpdrive

1x stasis web

1x Warp disruptor

Low power slots

3x Ballistic control system

1x Power Diagnostic system or Reactor Control unit

Drones

5x Light ECM Drones or Warrior (IIs) scout drones

Rigs

Optional but You could use Core defense field extenders to give a HP buffer or missile rigs

With good skills this will do an impressive level of damage for a Drake but at the cost of the infamous passive tank the Drake usually has but this is a good thing as usually people wont see it coming. Use the best modules your can fit and are willing to afford.

Putting Heavy Assault launchers on a Drake is pointless as it gets no range bonus for the missiles so can't engage very far out. It's too slow, even with a MWD for the type of role you're trying to fill with that setup. Fit T2 heavy launchers and you can fit both a better tank and an equivalent gank and be able to engage from much further out.

Core Defence Field Purger I

Core Defence Field Purger I

5x Warrior II drones

Allows you to engage at any range from 0 out to over 70km
Allows you to clear bubbles relatively quickly as your speed with the afterburner going is over 400m/s (MWD won't fit unfortunately).
Gives you an omnitank of 70+/65+/70+/70+ resists Has 374 DPS and 359 Defense (EFT Defensive score) sustained hardener tank with passive shield recharge.

This setup also works well for missions and isn't very different from the one listed above except that it's an omni-tank tbh.

The nice thing about using Heavy Launcher II's is you can load up precision missiles and shred smaller ships with them.

Another option is a Passive regen drake that uses Sensor Damps instead of the hardeners in the mids for small gang warfare. Have played with that a few times with mixed success. It's a nice surprise to be able to hit a ranged ship trying to snipe you with 3 damps and watch him cry while your interceptors lock him down and the fleet closes and pummels him. Obviously if your gang has ewar already it's best to fit a tank but if you don't... then this is a nice option to have.

18km is a perfectly acceptable range for close range weapons and its not much slower than plated BCs and your argument about T2 launchers goes both ways if you fit T2 HAMs and load up with faction ammo and 3x BCS no heavy missile setup will even come close to the damage output.

Passive Drakes belong in PVE or at a push on a low sec gate camp all your flying is a brick that brings little to a small gang.

Would be great to have some feedback on this set-up. I'm using it now but find I'm to scared to really take it in harms way. I have this Image of being locked down and not having the DPS to do any real damage. With the CDF Purge running at about 15 mil each, the whole set-up would be painfull to lose. I don't really do missions, I just love the way this thing charges the shields. Any advice?

You wont hurt anyone with that setup, no.
Actually, if you do the numbers, the setup i posted has the best damage/tank tradeoff and should be easy to fit if you have engineering and electronic 5 + weapon upgrades 4

Tnks, I was thinking the same thing really (about your set-up being a better approach). I might try this one with Tech II drones and see how much boost in DPS I get. I like the set up, I just can see a way to make it useful for anything other than missions.

You could rearrange your low slots and add some Ballistic control systems to increase the damage output, also if you lose some of the SPRs you will run more cap stable and could fit some Invulnerable fields in the mids to increase your effective HP.
