    • Eve on line has to be one of the greatest online experiences to date, but there is on big IF you like it. It's the kind of game you love or you love to hate. It's definitely geared toward the sci-fi geek market. If you loved Elite, Elite 2: Frontier, and Frontier: First Encounters you'll most likely love this game. If you've not played these games then well you’re insane! However there very dated these days but the game play was great (if you where a big sci-fi geek). I use the term geek instead of fan as there is a big difference (I’m guessing most people know what I’m getting at). If you loved films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Dark Star and other 1970's style sci-fi you'll most likely like eve. If you’ve ever played the old table top RPG Traveller and loved it Eve is probably for you. It’s a relaxed passed game (until your in combat then it action packed) with very complex system of building and upgrading your ships with a huge range of skills that all add to your over all performance as a pilot. This is not a MMORPG for a light hearted player who just wants to jump into a space ship and start kicking ass, that’s not what eve is about. Outside of flying ships there are whole skill trees for commanding fleets and aiding members in your fleet. There are skills trees for managing & running corporations/businesses (Guilds/Traders). As well as a skill trees for researching, manufacturing, and mining. It’s a very in depth immersive MMORPG experience. It has to be the most realistic (if such a term can be applied to such a setting) Sci-Fi MMORPG’s to date, but this level of complexity can be it’s undoing. Despite having one of the largest game areas, the best part of an entire galaxy, it has one of the smallest communities in MMORPG terms. However this is made up by the fact there is only one server which in my view helps with the immersion into this futuristic world, as there is only one world and all people from all counties and walks of life play on it. The most people I’ve seen loged on at one time is about 42,000ish people, you might think this would lead to bad lag but as the game area is so huge you very rarely end up with too many people in one place to course unacceptable lag. Lag unfortunately is something all MMORPG’ers have to put up with on some level no matter the game. All in all I’d give Eve an 8.8 over all, it might not be to everyone’s tastes, but to thoughts that it does, you’ll never look back once you get logged on.

    • I don't get why this game got such a high rating considering how boring it is.

    • The new graphics are very good not that the old graphics engine wasn't good as well. The Music get very boring very quickly but you can turn it right down. the rest of the sounds are your generic shooting, warping sounds. There are role playing corps and huge area's of space are controlled by player corps/alliances. Even if your in a NPC run Corp there is plenty of other members to chat to, but the real fun is when you join the play run corps. If you avoid the Hub systems at peak times I've never experienced Lag apart from when engaged in fleet battle. The GM seem really quick and help-full.

    • Not bad! First of all the problems: can't control a human, low population game. ok the good points, doesn't require 10-12 hours a day, great community, loads of space and plenty to do, you won't feel trapped in. The graphics are off the chart!!! Plenty of PvP, you won't be disappointed, but I warn you, the community is small and you don't control a character, other than that if you are that type of person, ENJOY!
