Why does this smell like over hype? I rly wonder

I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long.

There still seem to be a few holes in the fundamental aspects of the game reported and with the cuts they made last week to the game it makes me wonder which direction the development is taking. My heart sank when EA took over Mythic and what that would ultimately do to WAR's development, but we will have to wait and see.

Thats what I would reccomend to anyone thats just not sure. If you see some of us after the first month or two talking about how bad it sucks then you know it disapointed some of the biggest fans of the game. If you dont see people like me and Ascention posting that means we are playing and you should come join us.

You can either agree with me or be wrong!

I've learned in the past that rabid fanboys (not saying you are lol but in general) can last up to a year in a dieing game and still claim it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Look to friends and people who's opinion you trust or people who you think feel the same way as you and see what they think, don't rely on fanboys and on how long it takes for them to see the light, it can take very long sometimes :)

(disclaimer: Of course not all those will be blind, some people will *love* the game as it is despite their flaws, it's just that, the more flaws there are, the less people there are that will like it regardless, there will always be some)

The fanboys of WAR hate me for this ...

But in all honesty.

I won't ever leave PvP Wow for a game with 1/3 of the PVP speeds of Wow.

The PvP videos of Warhammer don't convince me at all.

Slow, static, hardly any frantic action and all videos show a slow play as if the characters are being played by some 60 year old veterans.

And ALL the arguments defending it don't make sense.

First they said "it is only beta", than they said "it were pictures from a show people don't know how to play the game", now that the beta leaks show up it is "go away and just play Wow".

The poorest argument was that of the guy who said that slower fights allow more for healing and control.

I made the test with a few hard PvP'ers I know in RL. They couldn't stand the pace of the fights. It was PvP à la grandmama one told me. The avatars "flow" is so slow one thinks the action is filmed on the moon.

So I am very curious what happens to WAR, because their main focus IS the PvP game.

If I were responsible I would ask them to redo completely the speed and animation of the figths. The lore and sytem in itself deserves far more than this.

I always considered Conan as a failure because of its graphics resources. War should redo completely the animation because they use far better graphics resources for an MMORPG.

It would even be an advantage to launch 6 months after WotLK and redo the movement and fighting of characters completely. A PvP game without decent and fast PvP action is suicide.

DAoC was beaten 5 years ago in this department and apparently Mythic did the same thing with more pixels. 2008 is NOT 2003 guys !!!

Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG.

Wrong on both accounts. I was actually going for WAR, but seeing as the only class that interested me has been cut, I'll be waiting for Aion.

I'm gonna quit WoW for WAR no doubt about it. I'm gonna cancel my WoW, go to the store, pickup my copy of WAR, install, and play till my hearts content. IF (really emphsizing here) IF for some odd and very ridiculous reason i don't like WAR, then i'll simply go back to WoW, but i'm not gonna have a subscription for both games at the same time.

Playing:WoW,Guild Wars
Used to play: Vanguard, Anarchy Online (got to lvl 6 and quit :p)
Waiting for: Warhammer, Aion

The ones that do jump Ship will quicky be sloshing about in the water praying for Wow to rescue them again and once they hit land again they'll kiss the land known as azeroth.

Coffee: Are you ever interested in real discussion and debate, or are you just a religious Zealot preaching one thing until for some mysterious reason you are caught by something new (and that switch will never be admitted in public)?

Just curious since you never weight facts against facts :)
