I have to say that AOC reminds me of Tabula Rasa in more ways than one. Player Caps on Zones resulting in seperate instances. As far as combat goes these games are virtually the same with AOC implementing a little more depth on melee combat. When I played a Priest of Mitra in open beta it reminded me of playing a specialist in Tabula Rasa. Actually I upgraded my system to play AOC and while I was waiting I decided to test out my upgrade with a visit back to TR. WOW! Lots of changes, I'm keeping my sub. Of course Im prob going to get AOC also for my fantasy fix. Got to say though they are like fantasy/sci-fi versions of each other. |

Patience is a virtue, reason a necessity |
I have not played TR myself so I wouldnt know if they are different or not. I do know though that TR was a flop and didnt pull nearly as much as the company had hoped for. I also know that AOC is different enough to pull quite a few people more then TR. Perhaps its because most of us have a sweet tooth for Fantasy over Sci-FI. Aside from that, this is a duplicate topic, please look at the forum first before you post. Thanks. |

God forbid people talk about things twice. How many times has that article about TR being a finacial mess been discussed?
I put this same post in the AOC forum. They didnt like it either. TR and AOC just can't be friends can they? More like most poeple on MMORPG are elitist nerds Lets try a discussion this time.

well if AOC is just a copy of TR only fantasy . then I am not even going to try it now , will just stick with TR . Cause i will pick sci-fi over fantasy everytime. |

I have both a Tabula Rasa account and a AoC account and I enjoy both games a lot. However, I really hope TR gets the content in (the Personal Armor Units, Control Point upgrades, and character customizations) before NCSoft shuts the doors. For the last week I've been playing Age of Conan with group mates and logged into TR for the first time in a week yesterday. My take on the two games is that AoC's new game feel makes it more approachable and TR's wait a see attitude while we wait for them the finish content is giving TR a place seat while I explore AoC. But I'm keeping my TR account active just in case AoC's new game feel wears off.

Originally posted by wide52 Sorry, need to vent my anger here. I was just so filled with nerdy rage I had to post. Ok fantasy Conan may be, but at least AoC has content. TR lacks in almost everything. |
