i love you |
I dont want to stop anyone having fun but i really do hope they try and find a way of enforcing the adult rating of the game and keeping under age players out. I really feel this will ruin the violent and brutal world with kids running around shouting ''ZOMFG '' and ''PWNed'' quotes being thrown around, which do really piss me off. But how can they police an adult rated game?? Suggestion's? |

You're better off just accepting the fact that you will see plenty of "ZOMFG" and "d00d, I just pwned yer ass" in AoC. The age of a player isn't really gonna make a difference as there are plenty of people age 18 to 60 that will still chat in game like that. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, it's just the way it is. |

they will find a way to get around it. hopefully they will realize this is a mature game and keep quiet at least. if not we just have to show them there place. |

HEHE when i was placing my preorder for AoC today the guy and his son (had to be about 10ish) in front of me ordered a copy as well... for his son. THe EBgames clerk gave him the "are you sure this game contains ...... and...... and also...." and they guy just said, "ok, thats nice."
Now i think the HS kids, as annoying as they can be at times, should really have no traumatic effects seeing blood n boobs. I mean seriously who here never saw those images when they were in HS lol; but jr. high and elementary is where i draw the line. Come on parents it is not just the blood and skin, there are other players out there who can tell you children God knows what (even though it is RARE in a MMO). just figured i would breifly vent
and trufully i think the "M" rating will just taunt more youngins to the game imo |

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional. |

they have already tried to keep kids out, the show your ID card to prove your 18 to purchase the m+ rated games. bad part is that the parents are the ones that get lil tommy the game. way i see it, if ya dont care for all the "kiddy" chat, the mmorpg world helped us out a little, use the /addignor command. |

The best thing you can do is be polite, have good sportsmanship and be the better man. If someone ZOMG's you ignore them. Don't stoop to their level or you become one of them. If you totally ignore them you piss them off because they are just looking for attention. If you start sending hate tells you are giving them exactly what they want and being the bigger asshat.
It's a video game. It's supposed to be fun. -Viz |

and he'd 'pwn' most of you in PVP... damn quick reflexes kids have these days.... and no, I'm not worried about his soul being corrupted, by either the game or the goofs that play it......

Originally posted by Kyleran I am sure noone is saying that teens are all bad apples. I am sure online, there isa bunch of teens that act more mature than adults. Like many others have said, the /ignore is the best way to deal with them. I am also hoping the combat system becomes complex, and perhaps alienate the players with short attention spans. |

Requirements said "Pentium 4 or Better" so I bought AMD |
I just thought of a way to keep really young kids out - AoC can have some kind of mathematical question every time you log in, parents will not always be there to help their kids answer the question. Besides it will keep adult morons out as well :) Example of question: X + Y =5 2X +Y = 8 X = ? |
