sorry but time and time again...people have said this game is fun past lvl XXX, and that never flies. Not saying it wont be fun, but to say you wont experience an open world till almost 3/4 of the levels through the game? I would have worded it VERY differently avery

Im just commenting on area's I saw with my own eyes at the community event. I didn't see the whole game.

Plus from past dev comments they have said it doesnt take long to level - BUT that doesnt mean you have explored all area's of the game for that level area your around, nor that area's for you level are scaled upwards in difficulty to the next segment and increase in size.

The game has a progressive rolling storyline. To be honest from what we have seen in quest updates there will be a very small amount of people who potentially might quit during noob island, I for one will be looking to play out the very intriguing destiny quest storyline started at the very beginning of the game.

Who you are, where your going, why your going is all teasingly put on you through most quests. In PvE this is the backbone of the game, I actually said you experience a more open world from level 20 onwards and then it progressively gets more intense from the look of it.

There is not much point to exploring if you dont know where your going or why and in AoC its pretty defined by a capivating storyline from quest dialogues I saw. And that was just a very small portion.

Weezer at the Warcry.com beta journal, puts noob island at like 12 hrs of play or something. Thats not alot considering people will prob have 20 days or so of Open beta. (guess) 

EDIT* This game was designed from scratch to have the 1-20 experience they promote, its never been hidden and always been promoted. Anyone getting into the game and is worried that they might get bored is also the same type of person to research and know in advance what its going to be like.

Hey Avery... arent you getting awfully close to breaking the beta NDA? Or are you not under such NDA? Can you only brake it if you say bad things about AoC or also when you promote it, as you do?

Everything that I write I promise is publically released information, at the community event we were not under NDA. (Stradden from mmorpg.com was there too) All the news links posted here over the past few months contain everything I've said. Although at the community event did get invited back up the next day without all the press and met the CEO and saw a few extra things, including a 3 hr discussion with half a dozen different devs.

Weezers beta journal up on Warcry.com goes along way to describe the first 20 levels on Tortage.

I promote the good stuff that gets released as a fan, and also comment as such on things that trouble me. Made a few honest threads the past 6 weeks too, where I share my concerns.

Anyway, i hope the game will be a huge success and that we all will enjoy it, though I have serious doubts...

Also, I hope you enjoy the beta testing! I wish I would get a spot but I really dont think they still invite people :/

while I am all for storyline, for me the greatest joy in an mmo is bumping into something surprising for the first time, especially if i decide to just wonder randomly for a while. I so hope there is some of this in AoC

I am surprised that so many people keep talking about games that have seemless worlds or landscapes.  I even find it more funny that people thing Wow's world is seemless.  IMO the one who started the seemless worlds was Asherons Call.  I mean you could portal from place to place if you wanted but you could also run there, it might take you 2 hours but not one zone screen or pause just terrain as far as you could see.  Just wanted to point that out, seeing how zoneing seems to always have a pause in most games, but AC didn't have that.  If AOC has it I don't know if people will like that.
