Good to hear Funcom got this patch out before the release.  They're cutting things close, but far better to patch the improvements now than at the end of May.

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised to see one more patch for performance.

I dont like the attitude of calling ppl a liar so fast. Things may be true or not, if you doubt a person, fine, but I then tend of keep it to MYSELF until I have real evidence otherwise. How fast are people here to call someone liar baffles me. Thats a weird moral compass to have.

It's my opinion.  I'm tired to hell of hearing people saying how rosy things are when it just doesn't work for me and takes tons of messing to get the game to even load.  So I guess yeah I am calling a ton of people liars if that's the way you want to phrase it.   I'd call it rose colored exageration or wanting something so bad you are willing to overlook things but hey whatever you want to say, I'm just frustrated.

Really it's all about funcom.  If they really got a fix, lets see it.  I'll be one of the first cheering when I can load the game and not have to worry about it crashing or just plain not working.  I mean let me ask you.  Just name one reason why funcom wouldn't want to release a patch to open beta to make it work properly if such a patch exists.  I mean really can anyone name a single reasonable downside to doing that!?!?  And if you can't then why aren't they doing it?

just  a thought but maybe they are spending there time now completing final fixes to the retail client and dont feel it is a necessity to have to waste precious time and resources on fixing something that will be useless in a few days time anyways.

OB being on a different patch level from CB, which itself is already on a different patch level from the internal builds; it requires a lot of resources and QA to put a "public OB" build together. Resources which are better spent working and fixing the still many remaining issues for launch in 10 days.

Of course how much is leaving 50k OB players hanging in the air affecting PR, that's the obvious question.

You know, even I, a hater, hope that rehashed game that considers innovation more button mashing AoC succeeds.  I am glad it's working for alot of people.  I'm glad it's working better now for alot of people.

I am tired of all those who proclaim this a miracle patch.  Sure, it might work better for you, but it HAS caused problems for a significant number of people... and after reinstall and trying again... um... no luck for me.

Still no miracle patch. 

Citing evidence of more posts in favor of this new patch is annecdotal evidence which is easily countered by saying that people have 'given up' trying to get this POS to work... except that most of those who have given up don't come back and even bother posting.

AoC has made a very specific decision to eliminate more than 70% of potential customers with their requirements.

Some cite this as a 'reason' that it was a good decision. 

I suggest that those who can afford better 'rigs' or those who actually can get this to work are equally made up of assholes... just more entitled assholes.

*blinks* Umm... you dont want 100% cpu usage... Im assuming that you are looking at the task manager? If your computer is at 100% usage playing aoc. Thats not a good thing.

Can you explain why its not a good thing?

Demanding applications are always going to have high CPU usage.   THe only time its a bad thing is if you want to run many programs at once or if its on a server.   In this case other apps will be less responsive while AoC is running.  

Well i think the time has come for people with crap pc's to buy a 360 and wait for AOC or buy a new pc with a good spec.

My pc exceeds min specs and doesn't run AoCrap even with hours of tweaking using the so-called 'solutions'.

I think it's time you realize that it's not the computers or the users. 

AoCrap will be a failure.  It exceeds most peoples computer specs by a fair margin.  It doesn't work on a significant percentage of people's computers who meet or exceed specs.

And that's just the technical aspect.

It will fail on it's design as well. 

At launch, it will seemingly be a success in number of box sales.  Immediately there will be an outcry from a minimum of 25% of those people who can't play this POS even though they meet specs.

EPIC FAIL AHEAD.

I hope all the fanbois will be around to explain to people why it isn't working on their rig.

And not just the usual BS.
