"The one you call messiah is a lie"--- Gary Numan

It just amazes me how anal some people get when they screwed up over a 3 day headstart, it's not like they pulled an NGE on you just after you paid for a 1 year sub.

It's something like you're coming home from the pub and need a pee. You see a fence with a big sign that says "Beware electric fence, turned on between the hours of 23:00 and 09:00". You look at your watch and it says 23:01, you undo your zip and decide to take leak on the fence. The next day you're lying in hospital bitching to the staff and other patients about how your penis got burnt to a crisp because that "****ing company turned on the electric fence". Then you go on to state how it was none of your fault because it wasn't explained to you in terms you could understand whilst intoxicated. Then you go on to blame the Pub landlord or barman that served you the drinks that got you intoxicated. Whilst all the time everyone is thinking "What a twat!".

Im sorry that you didnt do your research into AoC. If you did you would of known for quite some time now that the 3 day headstart was a limited thing on a first come first serve basis.

If eveyone could of ordered then you could potentially be looking at a million pre orders. A line had to be drawn somewhere. Its also been stated by them for some time too that they have the capacity/ infrastructure  for around 600k people on the servers for launch to be on the safe side.

The clear reason is your pissed because you weren't informed enough. Thats sucks I know, but its not the companies fault. They advertised this on the official forums, on websites from press releases and in their financial report.

Anyone purchasing a pre order for early access should of never been under the assumption it was guaranteed. Because it wasn't.

The there is not point trying to pass the buck, the responsibility falls directly on you the consumer to know what your getting in too.

Here is an example. You travel by public transport, You purchase a season ticket for rail / bus whatever. When the transport comes and is full and there is no room for you to get on, your pissed but understand, there is physically no room for you. Your ticket, prior purchased means you dont have to pay, but the ride is never guarenteed.

Just one question Avery

EA is 3 days before the official opening of the game. And they are just ready for 600k people and not one more. They even go trough very dirty buisness policy - deniying acces to people that payed 10$ extra bucks and preordered the game.

So, how will the thing be so different 3 days after that ?

For 3 days after EA they should be ready for unlimited number of people.

.....How will 3 days change the things so drastically

Sick of the crap on the radio? Try ETN.fm or party107.com

Well Funcom does own those boards.  Its not free speech.. As such they can do what they want.

Its not even a matter of free speech, actually.  You are allowed to talk about the way you feel there...you just aren't allowed to make a thread about it when there are already 10 million others ones present.  Its called space control...and really it makes sense.  When I go to a forum, and wish to read about and discuss a game, I like to be able to openly observe many topics at once.  Having a forum flooded with the same topic just bores me, and I'm sure I am not alone.

I also hate having to repeat myself 800 times to 800 people who couldn't be arsed to join the discussion already present in another thread.  I only have the patience to say "I hate you" a handful of times before it gets old.

DISCLAIMER:  This post made by someone who actually dislikes AoC and everything about its design structure.

I can be rather unbiased when I wish to be.

Granted this is a PR nightmare for FunCom and a dozen or so retailers... there isn't a serious person that can refute that.

Had I followed the instructions on my BestBuy box, I would not be getting in to Early Access.

Had I waited for my early access code from my pre-order CE... because to this point I still have not seen that email,,, I would also not be playing on Saturday.

People are genuinly pissed.  I would always suggest follwoing the directions on a box... but not in the gaming world.  There companies are run by amatures that are poorly educated in business and marketing.  The gaffs made by these companies would not be tolerated in other industries... that being said, I don't think FunCom will lose more than a handful of subscribers from this fiasco.

The only reason people are here posting about how poorly FunCom handled this launch, is because they are still craving to play the game.  FunCom F-ed up.  No doubt about it.  But it will recover and I hope learn a leason from this experience.

Where did you pay for an extra $10 for a pre-order? I didn't pay anything extra. I got my pre-order code from Amazon and they didn't charge no extra $10.

Many people on forums state they payed extra 10$ for EA. Seems it was deal-to deal thing.

But the question still remains

If Funcom are not ready for full launch now , what will be different in 3 days ?

No one paid an extra $10 for an early access key, all those keys are pre order keys which give you the chance of getting into early access. I got my pre order from Amazon.co.uk and paid nothing extra, I got my pre order key on the 13th in an email. I registered immediatley and got the option to enter EA for 5 Euros, also giving me an extra 10 days gametime on top of the free month.

If someone paid $10 for an early access key, then they were duped by the seller. They should go back to the store and demand their money back if it was described as an EA key. However I believe it was described as a pre order key and people are just crying because they didn't get EA as well as the in game rewards.

I've got to thank those that waited to register since it allowed me to get into EA. I didn't expect to get into EA myself and was never under the impression that buying a pre order would guarantee a place with EA. I'm still confused as to where most of these people got the impression that there was ever such a thing as an EA key and that it guaranteed EA? Certainly not from Funcom!

What your talking about Agricola is the fact that many people did not bother to read through what they bought
