last four patch, updated now the screen is black with flickering i can see the desktop, it wont take any configuration in config.exe and the cheetah 2 engin keeps saying failed to create shader objectgui.psh,

i cant even get the left ctrl, right shift, c to work  anyone any idears thanks.

  What video card do you have?

ati radeon x200(x300drivers) mobile -it was working perfect -apart from the sound problem everyone was haveing, just now afte the last few patch at 5pm i now only get the mountain snow seen.

Had problem in beta the first time I ran it, it seems to have to do with vid cards.  What you do is before launching game when you simply have the launcher up go into options and select windowed mode.  Now once you get into game go back into the options and change it back to full screen.  That fixed the black screen problem for me and I didn't have it again after that.

Same problem here.  My specs meet the minimum requirements, but I'm getting a flickering black screen when I try to open AoC.

tryed that it wont acept the changes, it worked on/in beta and the left ctrl, right shift,c button worked on the 15th for shader 2.0 and it was fine no problems , just last patch buggred it up compleatly.

running 2 e6600 core 2 duos, vista 64, 4gigs of ram, 8800gts....1 system has no issue(mine) wifes pc is having this issue...tried the go to windowed mode thing from beta and the screen was still black, then turned tan, and then has the character log in screen, but no options to make a character or view of character slots.

Also, just to add...she was able to load in no problems and see the movie until this last round of patches and her graphics work fin on other games/desktop

What ever the last patch where for seem to have fixed the sound issue but buggred the graphics -keep getting cheetah failed to create pixel shader object gui.psh ???

Sounds like a problem with DirectX to be honest. I never played AoC, never will play it, but flickering screens are usually the cause of the renderer. ;) Or of course, it's possible that Funcom made some mistakes configuring DirectX as their renderer. :)

damn it no diffrence still balck flickering and no log in screen just the ice mountians.

still nothing anyone fixed this ?

I am having same exact problem. Dont know what else to do. all happened as these guys say to the T. Anyone know what to do?

Same here Iasarith. Dont know, and niether do my m8s. But 2 other guys in our guild are having it too.
