No matter where you go, there you are.

It would be a hell of a lot more thrilling if PVP was made with full looting. Blood money is just some false substitute for the real thing, making it seem as if your actually getting something from a fallen foe. In actuality your opponent loses nothing. There is nothing to stop someone from ressing over and over, I can run into a mob of enemy players and annoy the crap out of them just because I can. Since I have nothing to lose I have nothing to gain but artificial junk. Ho hum, let the boredom begin.

"In EVE, no one gives a damn about a fair fight." - chafin

Looting is great, just so long as great controls are in place to prevent ganking of players who are at a substantial disadvantage to someone else (i.e. previously engaged fighting PVE mobs or other players, more than a level or 2 below the aggressor, etc).  Also, loot has to be next to worthless, because no one will spend a half dozen or so hours running some pve encounter just so someone can take it from them in a 30 second, unbalanced fight.

Something like what Shadowbane used (equipped items were bound, backpack items were lootable) might work.... but not full looting of characters....never happen...

"For we walk by faith, not by sight" - 2 Corinthians 5:7

If they do make looting servers, that would be a nice suggestion for the people who do want it.

However I don't want my hard earned items being taken from me just because I screwed up in one strategy during the fight.

The bottom line is that you guys are dreaming. This is NEVER going to happen in todays subscription based games. People work for months, sometimes years to aquire what they have. to have you take it in 10 seconds is not only ridiculous, its bad business practices. Nobody except the 10-20 super hardcores on these boards would pay to play that crap. And the first time they lost after 2 months of playing they would quit too, I dont care what they say on these boards. Its not gonna happen, and for the few that really want it, the servers would be ghost towns because nobodys gonna play that junk. Like it or not, I'm not flmaing, but its just bad for business.

Its only bad business if nobody wants it.  If there are enough folks who want it then why wouldn't you consider it good business.

There are plenty of folks who like looting in PvP.  UO players did.  Doesn't Eve have that as well ?  If the game is good and solid then you can get enough folks who like all out PvP with looting to fill a server.

I haven't played a good Fantasy based PvP game since UO.  Most of the MMO's out there today are made for the masses not for the folks who truly love MMORPG's.

Its a watered down industry these days.

This is all vey true. However, you and I both know theres not 10,000 of you that will play this. Maybe you think there is.. but theres not. And eve is COMPLETLEY different.... eve is almost like permadeath.. u are hunted and lose your ship and all.  Its apples and oranges. But as you said, they are going to appeal to the masses, not the small crowds. Its just not cost effective. A single server? could happen.. it has the potential.. but I still dont see them thinking its worth their while.

Like I said.  Watered down.

Everyone wants play the one guy who never loses.  Never dies.  Is never poor.

Wheres the bums ?  Wheres the tragedy ?  Wheres the suffering and loss ?  WTF makes these games RPG in any way ?

You could turn anything into an MMO but I'll be damned if I've seen a Massive Roleplaying game in years.  Roleplaying died on the tabletop.

Well.. people COULD play the bums, and the poor.. but what fun would that be? I mean.. Its not like they are FORCED to wear that shiny epic armour into battle.. they WANT to.. I mean take wow for example (just an example) you could be poor, and lvl 70, running around in trashy clothes, drunk half the time, and begging for money... OH WAIT!!!! 90% of them already do. Nuf said. Its the PLAYERS job to ROLEPLAY.... obviously they dont prefer those roles.

No shit sherlock.  Thats my point exactly.  The games made these days are not made for the people who initially loved the idea.  They are made for the weekend warrior and the kid who thinks he didn't get to play the game until he finally got to the max level.

You seem to think I meant to blame developers.  I did but I blame them by way of blaming the people who whine and moan about too hard, unfair, and too long.

The game starts at level 1 not at level 70 bud.
