I honestly believe they will sell over 500K copies within the first week or two. This game is very good and the only people flaming it are fanbois of a different game.

Vanguard sold 300k within the first few weeks, that didn't turn out so well.

As the press was horrible as well as telling everyone that the game was not ready...Vanguard was not ready...AoC IS ready...

The graphics are better than any MMO on the market.

That's an arguable one, but for the most part I agree, too bad no one can run it though.

I can...on 3 different system styles...and one is the "recommended" system

The PvP is very fast paced and on a large scale. Sieges, guild vs guild, mini-games.

Compared to current PvP games like Dark Age of Camelot, AoC PvP is on a very small scale. Its instanced and limited by so many systems I don't see how it could be much more fun than a counterstrike server.

Call of Duty 4 has max listings for 20 per side...so, 28 more...and graphically they both require a powerhouse...so why can't CoD4 do more?

12 UNIQUE classes. Every class is unique. If you just played levels 1-5 you wont see that. Play until 25+ and you will see that every class is absolutely unique. 80 levels in total

12 is a small number of classes. Vanguard had more, and they were, in my opinion, some of the best classes to be seen in MMOs recently.

With many duplications...and for a porrly running game..way poorer than AoC

PvE raiding, dungeons, crafting, and lots of exploring with a bunch of cool mounts.

Nothing new at all....

No...but, done with a higher degree of fun and visuals

This game offers everything and more. Why wouldnt it have 500K + subscribers early on? Only reason I can think of is the economy in the US is doing poor and maybe ppl cant afford the game and/or a new system.

You think this game won't do good because of the ECONOMY? That's... interesting, haven't heard that before. If it doesn't do well its going to be because of the poor performance, the generic systems that have been used in MMOs for the past 8 years, and the lack of content.

This is the only one I am up in the air about...I think the games requirements will be detrimental as well as age restrictions...so, I cannot say if the game will have a large number...but it will have a "profitable" number to keep it going.

Dont listen to teh negative reviews, this game is going to be revolutionary.

No, it won't be. Its too similar to all the other games out there right now. The only sort of revolutionary feature they HAD was the combat, which they dumbed down as soon as the mindless WoW masses claimed it was too hard. But even the 8 direction combat was mostly button mashing.

This means you did not understand the combat, so you button mashed...skill is key here...if you "button mashed" then you did not control your fatalities, blocking, etc....I bet you would button mash Ninja Gaiden also...

not every game is for everyone.

Devs who try to make them for everyone ruin games.

I like what Funcom did here, they made a game that definately isnt for everyone. But that doesnt mean its a bad game. I happen to be 1 of the people who like it.

Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean its a bad game. Get over yourself.

forums.3305local.com

We are recruiting.

My guild, 3305 Local, which has been a very large part of Anarchy Online for many many years now is largely coming to AoC. A good many were in Open Beta and, especially after the patch on the 9th, every last one of them loved it. We've got at least 20 people coming over, and if launch goes well, a few dozen more will come over as well.

So there certainly are a lot of reunions going on. Hell we've gotten almost near a dozen new members just from the hype of AoC. Some noticed us on TTH ClanSoup, others from our tags on the main forums, etc.

Which btw, check the sig and the side note, we are actively recruiting. Old 3305 Local from AO reborn in blood for Age of Conan! Cant wait :D Thankfully I have the closed beta experience over many months that, to me, has proven that this game rocks, and it's the best MMOG to come out in YEARS. While it may not be absolutely revolutionary. It is most certainly a huge jump ahead for MMOGs.

I know of 4 people at least that will be there on launch day, but those same  people preorder damn near every off the wall MMORPG that comes out and swear it will be the next big thing. I know for a fact they all bought Saga of Ryzom, Horizons and Vvanguard and hated LoTRO and EQII.

Anyway I predict an initial 200 - 250 K worldwide with a 40% retention after the free month.

Why don’t we stop talking crap and start betting?  I have $10,000 that say AoC hits one million subscribers in 3 months.

Agreed....I don't see this as being the next big mmo to go on and on.  Next games I am looking forward to are Darkfall and Stargate Worlds
