With all the haters on this board I guess this post won't be popular, lol

I'll post it anyway, I don't care.

Logged in today to see that the guild I was in was more or less dead...

I was the only member online, on a newly released guild, on a saturday... yay...

The reason for that however, my dear AoC basher, is not that AoC sucks, but because the guild I used to be in was run by a PvP maniac that prefered to kill every person in sight, preferably low lvl, also known as ganking

He even wrote in guild info tab: " Members need to gank more!" true story

Naturally this made him some (!) enemies on the server, till the point that he quit. I dunno maybe he thought the game sucked too, didn't really get to ask him.

So not so much fun being in a guild where you are the only one online, and folks around you are trigger happy against this ganking guild.

So /guild leave, and run around lonlely a bit, wondering wether the haters are right and maybe this game is just a hype and so forth.

In addition I run into a chat bug, that makes me have to relog in order to use the general, chat - I can't even announce that I'm looking for a guild

Well, I relog and check myself for "looking for guild", and after some time I get invited to a really nice friendly guild, fun people that seem to be active and helpful.

So now I'm having a blast  that was all it took for me, that made my day ^^

I'm more the casual gamer, so I don't do applications and stuff like that, so it's great finding a nice guild like that without any further ado.

Does this make me sound like a fanboy? hope not. I have no problem seeing issues, as an example I watched a video with guilds in PvP battlekeep, stating that the mammoth was no use in sieging... so then I really wonder what my mammoth is good for...lol. I don't really worry about it, they'll probably fix it I hope.

But joining the guild today really made it feel like I'm playing an mmorpg again, and AoC got the realistic graphics and involved combat  I was looking for, so I continue to enjoy it.

good for you! Glad you are enjoying AoC.

I honestly feel like that's what it takes to really enjoy this game - a good guild.  If you can get into an active guild (preferably with a vent or TS) then i think you are set for a good long while in this game and you're geared to have a lot of fun.  I am level 75 now and I shall see how this high level end content plays out though as I don't hear very many good things. 

I am enjoying the game as well and I don't know if i would be enjoying it as much if it wasn't for my guild Venom on Stormrage server.  Good people can go a long way.

I guess you could say that a good guild is important in any game, but, I dunno, to me it just made the experience so much more fun in AoC.

Especially since I play on a PvP server, it may come in handy to have some guildies support you with quests or for PvP support. And awesome when they have a good sense of humor and active.

So I recommend as well to find a good guild for anyone that might be getting bored with AoC, makes all the difference. It's an MMO after all, although it's fun to PvP, it's lot of fun with good teamwork as well both PvE and PvP.

Lol dude I'm lvl 48, left Tortage almost 30 levels ago....

I've been in the same guild since early access, but eventually it ran dry... the second in command didn't login for 9 days or so after main leader quit. But I got ninja invited into that guild anyway.

In my new guild I actually got a question if I wanted to join and some info about the guild before I got an invite and accepted.

Well i'm glad that you could find a fun guild to help you enjoy the game
