For god sake grow up people!!!

Was there any of this bashing when Wow announed 1 million accounts (yes accounts, not active players)

And we wonder why no other games make it to the market, its people stopping it not the game. Do you realy want to be stuck with Wow for the next 50 years!!!!

And yes im comparing it to Wow as probably 99% of people moaning about AOC are from WOW, Go back there, let people who enjoy conan play it with out all the childishness.

And from all reports the subs keep increasing, amazing launch so far for AoC. Looks like a huge succes story for Funcom !

Okay Mr. factual Information only,

Show the supposed reports where "subs keep increasing". After this press release, show any other or any other factual, documented evidence that subs are increasing. And do not go the date, that is still reporting launch period info.

And no, before you ask, I cannot show that the game is losing players either. However I can tell you this: after spending $80 on the collector's edition, the pre-order/EA thing, the best Buy mount, the AOC frag mat along with other AOC stuff, I quit playing before my first month was up.

So if the game is losing dedicated players like me, who spent a ton of money and time on the game, followed it for years, do you think that bodes well for the game? My opinion is no.

The issue, as I have said before isn't the people playing or the people not playing. The issue isn't numbers. The issue is that the game has many broken or unfinished (incomplete) areas that hurt gameplay and enjoyment of the game. The issue is this: will people continue to play or come back to play when things are fixed. I think the community is fed up and will not give the game time to right the ship. Hopefully I am wrong though.

What i highlighted is the BIGGEST mistake gamers can make cause after all these years it had to become clear that people who act that way with games are often the most disappointed people around forums/games. And each and every new releaed game we see the same type of people who followed a game for years, upgraded their systems and become disappointed wit the game release.

A couple of people posting about leaving on a message board means nothing in the big picture. Most of the casuals are having fun in-game and don't even visits boards like this. Please keep things in perspective.

And please do not simply copy and paste comments from another forum. You are adding nothing to the discussion and your posts are beyond ignorant. And posts like these are why many people are leaving the game and community and until you fanbois wake up and see what state the game is in, you will only get a shell of a broken game.

You are not the type of consumer Funcom is targeting, a hardcore finish the game in a week type player. The game is for the casual gamer, built for the casual gamer. All the people i have talked to love the game. Your missing out on some great siege battles, too bad for you

Supbro

Oh, I suddenly got it! You're actually playing LOTRO, you have only missed the title of the game you're playing.

And the forum section.

1. WoW wasn't this incomplete when it announced and no way did WoW the same number of people cancelling after the free month.

2. Arrogance. WoW never called itself the Steak of MMOs.

Waiting for the next thing

Broken quests, placeholder npcs, unstable servers and large downtimes?

Lack of raid content, placeholder art on raid gear until well after MC was introduced, balance issues a plenty?

Raids being split into different instances and then locked into separate IDs?

Zepelins broken for long periods of time, at times kicking the entire load of players off the zep and into the middle of the ocean.

Lack of PvP areas and rewards, zero incentives other than to gank until well into the games development cycle?

Not to mention the debacle that was the Paladin class, systems swapped out and entirely changed within the last week before release. Completely pulling the wool over the eyes of existing beta testers.

Did you even play at release?

2. Arrogance. WoW never called itself the Steak of MMOs.

Being confident in your team and your product is far from arrogance, not having that attitude would be absolutely foolish and would harm the game more than do it any good.

Rock a FailCom avatar now and express your disgust with pride!

I'd be more than happy to be "stuck" with WoW if they went over to a Crytek-like engine and redid Azeroth and added a bit more sandbox style of gameplay.

Supbro, how can you possibly say this?  You advocate factual information and say to keep things in perspective but what you say here is nothing but an assumption.  Unless of course you know most of the casuals who still play and what their forum habits are.

I go by what I know.  I started AoC with 8 others.  Every one of them, including me, has quit.  While not indicative of the entire AoC population, it tells me that I am not the only one that thinks the game has problems since we are all seasoned MMO vets.
