I have reached lv 50 and couldn't take it anymore. You all know the reasons. i won't repeat them. so what now? I'm waiting for War or any good , fun and polished MMO. I have tried a bit of mass effect. it's cool. Doing end game with my lv70 mage but got nothing to do other than raids.

You all just don't know HOW MUCH Blizzard raised the bar in PC games.

I have to smile when you say "just raid in the end game of WoW".

Have you realised just how RICH in polished content that end game is?

No other game comes even close, that's way 10x more players play it (just see the Xfire stats).

No matter whatthe hate boys say. I bet you're just one of the many tensof  thousands who tried Conan and just came to the same conclusion.

Hard way or easy play: you just choose HOW to play a polished game of Blizzard.

I can understand your AoC decision.  But going tack to WoW end game isn't exactly what I considering exciting fun.  World of Eternally Grinding raids/pvp/arean for Gear.  Ugh.  Yes, WoW is polished...but they take way too damn long to add content.

Depression is just anger without the enthusiasm.

AoC has problems, and it's far from polished. However, the mechanics are there, the game has potential. Plus, it's hardly fair to compare a game like WoW which has been in existence for several years to a game like AoC which has been released for a matter of weeks. Give it time.

"It''s not true that I had nothing on, I had the radio on!" - Marilyn Monroe

And when they add content, it's only raid or arena content, never any world, or middle content.

Try Age of Conan out again in about a month. The patch notes so far for this week are going to have fixed a huge amount of the bugs, while finally revamping a few things and adding new stuff as well.

Hope you enjoy yourself.

For what it's worth, I am convinced there is fun to be had between 50-80 in AoC, because I am having it. But if you were not enjoying it, and would enjoy WoW, well props to you.

Give Vanguard a look. I did and I am happy with my decision. it still has bugs and issues but its a wonderful experience. I have subscribed and enjoying the game a lot.

And how is the tech performance for you temp? You notice some major improvements? It was a pig when I tried long ago.

You need a break from MMOs in my opinion.

Take up RL golf or bowling for six months.

Games are like air! You wont miss either until you aren''t getting any.

It always amazes me when people compare AoC to WoW in terms of stability and content and polish. WoW has been released since 2004... thats 4 years ago people. 4 years of polish, new content and whatnot. If we are to compare them lets compare WoW 4 years ago to AoC now. Just try to look past the graphics and go for the other stuff. I bet there isnt that much of a difference.

I played WoW a few years ago. Got to lvl 30 and realized one thing: This game is no fun, grindy and grindy plus all Rouges are retards. Wtf is up with the picking flowers, seaweed and fishing? Is this Sims online? Oh yeah, that stupid trench in Ironforge... always used to lag when I went outa the AH and ended up in it and had to walk ALL the way around to the stairs, bah. And my rifle lookes like the one Uncle Scrooge uses. But it had its charm with its huge world, nice scenery and a mechanical ostrich , thats so cool haha.

Im playing AoC now. The game looks great( veeeery curious about the Dx10 version), but its fricking buggy as hell. It was much more stable at launch than now. Out of memory crap and graphics buggs out on me. The first 20lvls was the most fun I've had in any MMO, after that its fun but not revolutionary and the combat system is pretty fun with the combo system. But the chat system could use a touch up and so could the UI.

There is also one thing about fantasy games that annoy me like hell. The dang running. Why do we have to run all the time and for so long a distances huh??? Oh yeah we get a horse at lvl 40 if we can afford one, more like lvl 55. Same thing in AoC and WoW, run here, run there... running must be like 80% of total game time. I hate running.... In CoH you could fly at lvl 14... Fly people!! In Planetside you could drive a tank/car/plane almost immidiately etc etc. But fantasy games? " Yeah you might almost perhaps if yer lucky get a mount at lvl 40-50 something, yeah"

Oh, sry off topic there hehe.... umm yeah. Go back to wow and press that no.3 button 478 times straight during a 4 hour raid, sounds like fun. And yes, Mass Effect is real cool. Cheers.

It runs  very well actually. On my computer, it runs slightly better than Age of Conan did. I run Vanguard on Balanced with Med-High textures (I think it is) and I am getting 40ish FPS. It greatly fluctuates in cities and when you first load the game but its not bad. The "chunk" lines are still there too but less noticeable.

I have tried playing VG three times now: at release, February 2008 and July 2008 (now).

To give you an idea of the difference at each stage, I will say this (these numbers are made up and used mainly for explanation):

At release: -1 FPS

Feb. 2008: 10-20 FPS

Now: 30-40ish FPS (and higher in the wilderness)

Still not a perfect game and has plenty of bugs, but honestly for a pure PVE experience, it cannot be beat (for someone like me burned out on many other games).

**My systme is an AMD Athlon 4000+ (2.4ghz single core), 4 gigs RAM, and a 9600GT. Not that great to be honest but with Vg, RAm, defragging and having as few processess running in the background are key to performance.**

IDK,,, I have kept going back to the same game(not wow)all thru my mmo experiences. Having said that,

one constant Ive seen, is that no matter what our preference, we still dont find that perfect game.

True we usually have one that will do, but we keep looking and not always in the same directions.

Is it us? Are we too hard to please, or, is it truely that we seem to end up with wallstreets game, rather than ours?

I know that sounds rhetorical, and it is, but , there werent any flammers here either way, so I thought it might spern some speculation, among what appears, a thoughtful thread.
